Dirty barrel is better than a clean barrel is an inaccurate comment. Should have stated, wanted to verify shot placement with a cold barrel
You dont agree that the first shot after cleaning the barrel is usually off?
Often people tune loads for dirty barrels. Therefore subsequently they do shoot better when dirty.
I have a 280 Rem that shoots best with a dirty barrel and cold bore placement is consistent with subsequent shots. In fact, when using 140 Accubonds, it shoots 5/8” groups with a dirty barrel vs 1” groups with a clean barrel. Not that a pronghorn at 300 yards would know the difference.
