Thanks for the video & the links & the Mopar #'s. I did this on my 88 Aries 2 years ago. I did not know the Mopar #'s at the time, so I used Dorman 118-301 (a package of 10) in place of 3799089. They were brittle and hard to press in, but they have been OK, so far. If I installed them again, I would try to soak them in hot water first, to see if that would soften the plastic a little and make it easier to press in. I was glad I had a multi-pack, because I did the first one backwards, and had to break it out, so anyone who does this, it's good to take pictures first and avoid my mistake. I used Dorman 49439 for the one that connects to the wiper motor, if you can't get the Mopar one. I used a very large slip joint pliers to press them on, but I like the link, where the guy used an 11/16 socket and tool or vice.
Going thru this now with s Shelby Daytona. Did the socket in the vice to press the bushings with some flathead screwdriver help at the end. Hoping a shortcut is loosening working elements so I could just snap the arms back in with long pliers and leverage with cribbing, etc.
Spend the day yesterday replacing plastic bushing on windshield wiper linkage. What a pain! You video is very helpful! Had real problems pressing bushing into wiper linkage holes, any tips? Also it appeared there is a slot on the wiper male connector. Is there a press on clip to hold the bushing on?
William I'm glad the video helped! As for pressing them on without damaging them if you look in my video description there should be a few links on what I used to help me (sorry I'd link them here but I'm on my phone). That male end though I'm not quite sure about. I only replaced what I did in the video. Those other videos in my description might have some more info on that clip you're looking for as well though. Good luck!
I still haven't found the solution to dismantle the windshield wipers is it necessary to dismantle everything to replace the rubber in the linkages? thanks for your help.
Everything on my car was buried under the cowl. The only way to get access to those parts was to physically remove them from under the cowl. Other cars might be different.
I'm sorry I don't understand the question. If you're talking about how to remove the arm, in the video I show a tab you have to pull out a few millimeters. If the arms are rusty you very well might need a screw driver to pull that tab. Just lift up the blade and arm as high as it will go (probably only a few inches) then grab a flat blade screwdriver and pry outward on that tab. That should basically keep the wiper arm up without you holding it. Then you'll need to pull up and wiggle the arm from the linkage post and it should pop off. I can probably make a video if you need further help. Good luck!
I actually thought I'd see HOW to replace these bushings but saw absolutely nothing helpful. I had already replaced the bushings a couple months ago and figured it out myself. Was just curious to see if there was a better way than how I did it. This very poor video showed nothing useful. What a waste of time.
Helped me know I did not have to take the whole dash apart to get at them.Thank you!

Apply a spec of grease it helped me pressing the grommet onto the shafts and a little dish soap for pressing grommet into the hole they go thru
