  • This is it, guys! The finale of the series. I want to humbly thank all of you who stuck around until the end of this project of mine. Two years later from today and I finally closed up this series. At this point, even if you all hate this ending or something, I'm very proud I was able to create 8+ hours of fully voice acted content. To all the contributors including voice actors, artists, music composers, and the guys who did stuff behind the scenes; I have to thank you all as well. Notice this project get sort of progressively get a bump in quality with each part? It's because of all of you and your selfless contributions, and you made this project the best it could be.
To everyone else sit down and enjoy the whopping two and a half hour conclusion to Phoenix Wright / My Little Pony - Turnabout Storm!

Question: Who's responsible for this series? Everything was so damm well written! The jokes were good, their personalities remained untouched, the plot was very interesting, and the court bits were just EPIC! The clues being thrown, the evidense, the GLORIOUS war between Phoenix and Trixie! This series wasvery enjoyable, even for someone who's indifferent to MLP such as myself. Well done those who made this wonderful series!

I need to say, the director of this really needs to get a job. I don't care about the content, this needs to be on his/her resume! That was a really well-crafted series! Sure, he was working off of a set of pre-existing characters with defined personalities, but that doesn't make it easy. The dialogue was really well written, which is incredibly important when basing it off something that's almost pure dialogue. And he really nailed the personalities, almost spot on. I really felt like I was watching an Ace Attorney game. And that was a hefty bit of scripting. It's not exactly often something like this ends up clocking in at hour markings. Incredibly well done. Whoever did this, because I feel PWaaMLPfim isn't a proper name, I really hope you get hired, because this little project really hits the high marks.

This is 1/5 of a fan made movie. It is over TWO AND A HALF HOURS LONG. That is longer than most kids movies, and it is nearly double the length of rainbow rocks, a movie that is actually made by mlp.
The fact that a fan could make such a long and entertaining series truly surprises me. Even though most of the animation and such is simple, because it's based off of Phoenix Wright games, it still truly is incredible.

I must truly thank you for your work on this series. It is simply amazing. This is my favorite MLP fan fiction by far. The investigation parts were a little slow, but the court scenes more then made up for them. The humor was also extremely well handled as well the emotion you conveyed.
I'm not sure how much of the story was your creation or the actual game's, but I thought it was a very clever plot, with lots of twists and on-the-edge-of-your-seat moments!
And then there were the parts after the last court scene. You skillfully captured Trixie's character and did a phenomenal job with her character development. I think the reason why I love Trixie so much, is because of the implied depth she has. I feel like she was really hurt emotionally as a kid or something. And I could totally feel that here. We got get a glimpse of her inner self.
I also liked that Trixie wasn't redeemed at the end. That makes this so much more realistic, and leaves the audience wanting more.
This was insanely entertaining all around, and I and can not thank you enough for making it.
    Thank you.

I discovered it just before both part 3s were released (late 2012, I believe), and getting the newest part was a huge deal.
Waiting all that time for part 5 to be released, it was emotional. The whole story keeps you guessing until the very end - beautifully written - and, as an inspiring writer (got over a dozen stories out on fimfiction myself), it's definitely something to look up to.
This is up there with Fallout: Equestria as being one of the best-written things to come out of the fandom.

Of course I was pretty young so I liked this gen of mlp, and I forgot why the series was called and was so sad because I couldn’t find it. I also didn’t know phoenixs name so I couldn’t exactly find it. But once I did I watched t and loved every second. Now I’m about five re watches deep into playthroughs of all three games in the first trilogy, and I have also finished one of Apollo justice. I have come back to this series as well many times because I love it so much and it led to one of the greatest discoveries of my life, the Ace attorney universe. There are not enough words I can type that will articulate how much I enjoyed this not only as a brony but as a fan of the Ace Attorney series. This series had an amazing amount of love and attention and respect for the source material put into it. The hard work of everyone involved shines through beautifully.
Aside from a few spelling errors, this was pretty much perfect. This really had the feeling of an actual AA case the whole way through, from the humor to the situations to the case to the characters, everyone acted very in character and the nods and jokes and memes between both fandoms definitely were recognized and appreciated.
I could very easily go on, but to sum it all up: I loved this, this is definitely one of the best pony- and/or Ace Attorney-related things to have ever been created by fans.

Okay, there are literally thousands of comments on this video already... But I HAD to come back and leave my thoughts.
I watched Turnabout Storm several months ago. I saw a link on EQD and thought “an 8-hour crossover of WHAT?! There’s no way that’s real!” So I watched the whole thing in about 3 days. Then I made my mom rewatch the whole thing with me. I’d never played an Ace Attorney game in my life, and I loved MLP but almost never watched fan projects of it. But Turnabout Storm… I was speechless. The way it was animated, how the characters interacted, the entire plot line, everything was FLAWLESS. As a newcomer, I could completely comprehend everything that was going on; it felt smooth to the canon of MLP, and, looking back on it, I’m continuously astounded at how smoothly it fits with the canon of AA, too. Because here’s the thing: ever since I watched Turnabout Storm, I’ve been debating whether or not to get into the AA fandom. I previously thought it would be too dark for me, but this crossover made me absolutely fall in love with Phoenix, and I was DYING to know the backstories of each and every character seen and referenced. Finally, about two weeks ago, I caved- I bought Spirit of Justice, AND binged the entire anime (which I didn’t know existed but I was thrilled to find). Today I finished Spirit of Justice, which had me in tears for multiple reasons, and I plan on getting the other two Apollo Justice games soon, as well as watching playthroughs of the original trilogy. (Wish I could’ve gone in order, but there was some issues with the Nintendo e-shop).
It might sound silly, but the entirety of Turnabout Storm means so much to me. And since I’m assuming it was made after the original trilogy but before the second one, honestly, I consider it prophetic?? I mean, come on- Phoenix gets adopts a confident young blue magician girl who’s name is TRUCY? Idk their actual backstory yet, but I’m 100% headcanoning that she reminds him of Trixie. And the ending of Spirit of Justice being to shout “OBJECTION!!!” into the microphone?!? Just. Amazing. Too many parallels to count.
To make a long review short… this game has introduced me to one of my new favorite fandoms, and I owe a lot to it. I still plan on drawing fanart of Sonata in the future in honor of this saga. Dear person who put the time and effort into writing and coordinating this: You’ve made a masterpiece. I have no objections.

Turnabout Storm was made after the first game of the second trilogy (Apollo Justice). Trixie was in Turnabout Storm BECAUSE of Trucy. That's why the blue hat at the end is actually Trixie's. It's also why the portrait of Princess Luna in the court lobby is in the same pose as the portrait of the judge in the lobby of Apollo Justice.

Words... cannot describe how incredible this series is.
I watched it when it came out. I just turned 16 a few weeks before the release of this final episode. I was an avid MLP fan, watching each episode the day it came out.
And now, at 22, I come back to this, being a full season behind on the My Little Pony show.
I don't know about any of you, but I can't stand watching videos from over 6 years ago. RUclips was a different place, and quality standards have improved significantly since then.
But somehow, even though I remembered little of this series until two days ago, I never felt that way about these videos, watching them again.
Sure, it has some issues, relics of an earlier age of RUclips. But this... is bigger than that.
This is a story that captivated me in the first ten minutes and kept me engaged the whole run.
This is a series that made me feel intelligent, and then turned around and proved to me that it's been smarter than me the whole time. I understood right away what the whole events were when Sonata became a witness. The show had cleverly put all the pieces in place, confirming the theories it set up for me to figure out, only to suddenly pull the rug out from under my feet in what might be the most dramatic twist I've ever had the pleasure of experiencing.
These are characterizations of the characters that somehow are not just accurate to the show, but also _better_ . It's like putting these characters from a simpler storyline in a more complex one seemlessly. And ontop of that, the creators managed to write new characters that are just as, if not more engaging than the majority of the fan-familiar cast. And all these emotional moments... I cried, several times, and I'm not usually someone who does.
It's bittersweet, knowing I'll probably never get the answer to some of the questions this series left us on.
    What's the deal with Celestia?
And more importantly, what is the deal with _Trixie_ ? By some stroke of absolute genius, this show not only made a rather one-dimensional character from the show way more interesting and complex (Ever notice how she doesn't lie a single time, even though she makes her malicious goal clear from the beginning?), NOT ONLY did it ALSO redeem one of the most controversial episodes of MLP FiM better than the show ever could (seriously, how do you do that?), no, after all that, it sets up one of the most emotionally investing mysteries I've ever not gotten the answer to.
What are those black locks hiding? Just what is it that Sonata noticed? What is the secret to Trixie's behavior?
I would DIE to see the resolution. Would breaking those locks change her? Just how dark is this secret?
All that is just a testament to how much this series involved me emotionally and sucked me into its world completely, even based on such a ridiculous premise.
Thank you, sincerely, to everyone who was a part of this. I probably could not even fathom the amount of work, even behind the scenes, even in aspects of the series that I didn't even catch on to, that must've gone into this. And all of it fits together so beautifully.
I hope that eventually we will see this channel make a comeback...
But if we don't - and we probably won't - that's quite alright.
One masterpiece is enough contribution to the world.

It's been going slow though, as they have just uploaded the first part of the first case 2 months ago. Find the YT channel for more details if you're interested.
Also I feel what you feel about this fan project. It might just be my favourite fanwork overall, of all time, and I watch it every year since 2017.

    • @Brunosky_Inc
      @Brunosky_Inc 4 года назад +6

Everything you've said I agree with inmensely. This is a most ridiculous premise being given the most love and care to pull it off, respecting both source series in a great way.
Seriously, it still amazes me just how good the MLP world and the Ace Attorney world mix in this series without sacrificing the core values of either series, but rather having those core values work together. Even if one series is about colorful cartoon adventures about friendship and the other is about murders and over the top investigations and trials, both have an intense sense of idealism at their core, and that really shows in here.
Oh, by the way, we *do* know what Celestia's deal is thanks to that final scene! She accidentally summoned "The greated defense attorney, *period*", and she got Mia Fey, Phoenix's late mentor.
As a ghost she was unable to take the case, which is why she suggested her pupil Phoenix, telling Celestia all about him to convince her that he was the right man for the job.

Matthew Nguyen I think Celestia should have a sort of chanelling with Mia, like how Wright explained to Twilight that how he had connections with Spirits he noted 'its kinda like magic'. It should either be connecting to the other Phoneix Wright games, and the newer seasons of MLP: FiM (so Alicorn Twilight) so maybe a few years. But Mia should be in it, either thru spirit or magic, I think Luna should appear as well as maybe a dream-sort of concept would be a good choice for this if it invovles spirits (Luna is best pony, anyway) Discord could make an appearance, which I dont think he should be the main villian but still - he could be accused of murder as not every one/pony trusts him yet coming back, but that would be a good reason...
Or the other only reason for Phoneix to come back to Equestria (and bring Maya too either first thing or later) is because Celestia can channel/talk to Mia or her body is just 'there' as didnt Elenor (the Griffon) say that she has seen a few humans that dont look like Phoneix which can explain she's either not fimilar with them or Mia is dressed similarly to Maya's clothing or just looks like her when Maya channels Mia's spirit. Either way, lots of possiblities for a sequal just has to be done... Wright. (Haha, get it?)
But I'm all for THE GREAT & POWERFUL TRIXIE returning to the court to try and trump over her arch-rival Mr. Wrong. What would it be like if she met Edgeworth and she was like 'oh no your not being his proscuter I THE GREAT & POWERFUL TRIXIE AM!'. Edgeworth might shoot himself in the forehead after five seconds dealing with Trixie.

Words can't describe how well this fan made is, there has been some negative criticism but I'm even surprised at all that such criticism can exist for a brilliant and well made movie this was. Ultimately, the author already announced there will be no sequel due to complications and its really a pity because if they make a series this long with a great understanding of targeting an audience with a solid plot, the future ideas of a sequel would have endless potential. Although besides that, the voice actors alone make this all the worth while with all their hard earned effort. This alone is something I'll never forget and is several times better than the big time budget movies out there today that don't have the proper planning for an interesting movie. Tbh, I even pondered on how it would work, but to my surprise, it did much better than that, it gave me a reason to want to view MLP as a serious competitor against PW. Now I just know, don't ever judge a book by its cover without viewing any content fully. It would of been unfortunate if I missed watching all of this series just because there are "Ponies" involved.

Although that would have been spectacular to tie in with the canon of the series, they wouldn't have been so surprised to see her in that episode as they did, and Trixie told them that she went to go work on a rock farm right after she was denied all possibilities of earning a living after Twilight showed her up. This couldn't possibly be canon.

I finished rewatching this whole series just now. The first time I saw Turnabout Storm was around five years ago, and I had totally forgotten about it, but then the first part of 'Elements of Justice' by TheAljavis got released, and I remembered this series existed, and figured I should come rewatch it as well. And I must say, this series really didn't disappoint me this time either, like it didn't the first time I watched it. It was just brilliant, and... beautiful. Especially that ending... the writing was really great, the characters were believable and weren't too out-of-character, which I think raises the quality and value of this series' watchability. The jokes and references that were sprinkled in were funny too. And I really liked the messages. And that music... they really knew how to use the best songs for the right moments for this series.
    10/10, would watch again.

The one thing that really stands out about this series to me is just the sheer accuracy of it all. I've seen projects that would just hastily smash the series together for the sake of a crossover, but the amount of love and effort I've seen put into this is quite staggering, and very warming. The characters felt... well, very natural, and true to their original concepts, even (and especially) the original ones. None of them felt particularly out of place, despite the nature of the beast. The voices were also very good, many coming quite close to the show, and Nick's just fit him so well. I really enjoyed Trixie's passive aggressive double speak, whoever had a hand in writing that did an excellent job. I know that in a project like this, there's no guarantee of a sequel, but I'll certainly be watching anxiously.

Maybe a real discord appearance too? And the cmc WITH their cutie marks?! Honestly there are so many interesting possibilities for the sequel of this series, especially regarding season 7. There are also multiple questions in THIS ACTUAL SERIES that have yet to be answered; what does Trixie REALLY have against twilight? What do black psyche-locks mean? How are Mia and princess celestia connected? There are so many things we still don’t know, even though the series has ended!

Oh shit, just came back here to relive a bit of nostalgia and listen to Towards The Truth (Total banger), but I just realized it's the 8 year anniversary of this video!
I know you'll never read this, but I just wanted to say thanks for making this series to everyone involved. I grew up with watching this over and over again back in late 2015 when I was 13. It's what first introduced me to Ace Attorney, a franchise I'm a huge fan of today! (Just finished playing the Chronicles and they are amazing). These 6 videos have so much ambition in them it's crazy. I mean, 8+ hours of an interesting fully voice acted case that does justice to characters from both series' and includes truly interesting and thrilling plot twists?! Heck, we've even got animated court cases! This series is insane!
Thank you so much for being the beginning of my spiral into the AA fandom, and for creating such an outstanding piece of MLP culture.

This isn't my first time watching this, and it sure as heck isn't going to be the last.
Unlike a lot of fan works, I feel like it actually keeps the characters in character, for the most part, and it definitely has that same feeling of suspense you would find in the Ace Attorney games. The voice acting/audio quality, while not perfect, is passable. Not to mention how emotional the ending was.
The people who worked on this did a great job, and I have my fingers crossed for more.

Sonata really is one of the most interesting and intelligent "culprit" (by culprit, i don’t say she’s a killer but she still the one who "masterminding" this case by tampering the truth of the events to protect herself) i seen in Ace Attorney games or fanmade.
Even if Ace wasn’t killed by her, she still tricked everyone to cover her own tracks and made the case almost impossible to solve.
Her guilt was made by very small details like the fact Fluttershy didn’t see Applebloom passed by her cottage when she saw Sonata with the stick, the fact Gilda removed the body to frame Rainbow Dash for the "murder", the fact Applebloom and Sweetiebelle found the broken golf club on the lake, etc...
All those small variables which made Phœnix thinking that first Cruise Control killed Ace for revenge of the blackmailing and the fact he assaulted him and abandoned him in the forest (in some way, couldn’t it be considered as attempted murder ?) and lastly, with Fluttershy’s testimony, made Sonata be suspected of the crime.
When i first looked the story, i first thinking Sonata was the murderer and planted the blame on both Cruise Control and Rainbow Dash because unlike Sonata, they both had motives to murder him (even the other griffon, not Gilda, had a motive but she was a griffon, not a pegasus, she couldn’t have used the storm cloud to kill Ace) but when i saw the handle, the little twist like the Godot case changes everything and fatally proved Ace caused his own death by flying with it in his mouth when the storm strucked it and killed him instantly.
    But yeah...karma is a bitch.

But we can deduce the secret about Celestia's Psyche-Lock, they appear when Phoenix ask about how she know all those details about him.
The is answer is PROBABLY that Celestia is able to "speak to the dead via spirit channeling", that also explain what happen at 2:31:28 where Celestia is probably speaking to Mia Fay, and Mia Fay is probably the one who tell Celestia all those details about Phoenix. ^^

No. It was all about Twilight really. Or at least, in her mind in anyway; being shown up in skill with use of magic, then being mistaken about having summoned an "Ursa Major" (Actually an Ursa Minor, long story.), and thus causing Twilight to be the one who comes up with the solution to the problem. Trying to save face Trixie leaves only to come back for that episode, Magic Duel.
