Hi Fella's, Thanks for a great show as usual. Since day one of Ange's appointment I have remained neutral. He is a good salesman. I think he got the players tearing around like crazy, as Conte did and had a good start. Then because the players are human they started getting injured, or got too fired up and got suspensions etc. So he now wants a new young hungry group who will go down the same path because all they see is the glory and are niave. Will it lead to success, maybe. But I see Ange as wanting success at any cost, not necessarily with sound tactics and good in game management, but by outlasting the opposition. I think players who want their careers to last at least 10 years, if that is even realistic these days, don't want to blow their footballing gifts in 2 or 3 years at the top level. That is why I reckon we see these lop-sided performances, with only half the players buying into Ange's dream, especially when what tactics he does employ. end up being suicidal, the older ones think twice. So self preservation enters into the player's psyche. Can you blame them, especially when a lot of injuries happen even in training. There are plenty of simple solutions, like moving the back line back 10 to 15 metres for a spell, to shore things up a bit and to give a bit more creativity room. At this stage I am Ange out because he is too damn stubborn, and inflexible so as to destroy any confidence which the team may have been building. As some say 'I'm sorry but even blind Freddy can see what a couple of tweaks could do'. I am not prepared to give Ange time if he doesn't do thinking and common-sense, and instead keeps talking process; making the players look stupid because we all run and think at different speeds. The only room we have to operate is between the half-way line, and where we can be caught offside. The other stupid thing is that the opposition can't be caught offside because they are usually starting from their own half. I Hope we smash Burnley. Gotta take all this nonsense out on someone, might as well start with them. COYS.
