Nice review, the recent buffs have push the Chally 1 from brick to actual tank status. Shame the devs decisions on the Chally 2 (and other T9s) keep flip-flopping about and are mostly decided by the russian testers.
I have found that the #1 balancing factor to the armor is not the gun but how easy this is set on fire. Frontal hits will light up the fuel tank without fail, even though the fuel tanks are in the rear.
Yeah, love my Challi but it definitely catches fire a lot. One PVP match, I was set on fire 4 times. Had a few Leo 2s spamming HE at me, kept tracking me and setting me on fire. But even though my auto fire extinguisher only put the first fire out and the other 3 burnt for a while, I still survived the battle. What a tank. And thanks to these bonuses, very close to unlocking M1 Abrams and T80.
+Preditor458 4 times burning? That must have hurt! Never had that happen. I'm powering through the Ariete now. At 55% now. I can unlock stuff faster than I can buy with this special! First world problems eh? ;)

I myself have a Challenger 1 and I really love it , other than the engine fires which I carry 2 fire extinguishers , is the Armor Yes the Gun needs to be buffed to be more realistic of the real life tank. (in my opinion) Example I did a PVE match on the Stormy Winter Map On Hard mode and I dealt a total of 23,646 in damage and My Armor Deflected 18,912 in Potential damage to myself but in PVP didn't do so well , I made a few mistakes and the team was not that good either ended up loosing the match , got killed. But again the Gun Does need to be buffed. Again Stealth I want to say Thank You for your hard work in doing these video's for us.

My first battle in PvP in this thing. Leo 2A5 snipes my drivers viewport twice for over 1k combined damage. What is the armor good for if any competent player will abuse this one weakspot?
The fire issue rather annoying reminds me of the KV4 from WoT I ran 2 Fire ext just to grind throw that tank guess Ill have to do the same thing for Challenger 1....I rather disappoint in the Challenger 1 so fare, does the top Engine fix fire issues or is just a problem with the Challenger 1 in general.....
There's a bit of a glitch with the challenger 1 where if you fire HE at its headlights you have a pretty good chance of setting the fuel tanks on fire. So it's just a general problem, to my knowledge, with the chally 1, not just the first engine
+Danish Isham They can use HEAT shells. You would do well to remember that HEAT shells have been in use since WWII, when there were no smoothbore tank guns. In fact, the rifling of a barrel has no real effect on the use of HEAT shells, since all the important factors regarding penetration happen upon impact with an enemy tank. The real reason that many modern tanks use smoothbore guns is because of modern APDS ammunition. Because the penetrator of this type of shot doesn't actually come into contact with the walls of the gun barrel, it is actually detrimental for the sabot to have a spin. It usually throws the penetrator into a wobble, and makes it less accurate at longer ranges. The Chieftain, along with the Challengers 1 and 2, both use rifled guns because the British decided to emphasize the use of HESH ammunition in their guns. HESH, like APDS, was invented by the British, and they see it as an excellent all-purpose round. It works wonders when destroying buildings or fortified positions, and it also is quite effective at knocking out enemy armor of all varieties due to the intense spalling it creates.
Most modern tanks have spall liners made out of kevlar or something similar as well as composite armor that is less brittle on the inside and cages on the outside. That makes HESH quite obsolete as an anti armor round.
I love my Challenger 1. As of patch 1.14, there's a new higher spec PvE pack, If you use it when low on HP, it'll give you full health again & replennish your ammo, It also gives you 15 second? to use it after you've died, which will give you 40% of your tanks total HP & full ammo. Worth having, especially on your lighter armoured tanks. GenFUBAR. 1AReg, NA Server.

Hello Stealth, every time i´m watching your videos one question runs through my head; why talks your crew to you. Every time they give you feedback about penetrating, incoming arty and so on. In my tanks ther is only silence. So i´m missing an option or is it because i´m a German guy and nobody likes to talk to a Gameran one?And thanks for an other good video. They are informative and helpful :-)
+Santeri Kajala RUclips puts it out in the lowest quality encodings as soon as it is uploaded and then starts work on encoding at higher quality, the 702/1080/2k/4k stuff can take anywhere from 10mins to 2hrs depending on the quality required and how busy they are.

correction, T80 has 501mm of AP pen as of 0.16

the challenger 1 gun is a rifle gun so it cant use heat rounds like in real life they cant use heat rounds

I did around 15k damage in PVE one match, the gun is good, it just needs a little buff.

You should look into the Leo 2s the 2A5 and 2A6 are the most armored in the game they 730mm base turret armor!!

is it good to get ERA armor? Bc the hull and turret side armor values decreases.
+ohlookitzneil ERA is great, if they get the side of your turret etc they gonna pen anyway. Grind the gun too, the extra pen is great
