It is just crazy to me that those who don’t like/support VP Harris, didn’t have the same energy towards VP Pence. They hold her to a different standard while letting Pence off the hook. Make it make sense. They keep saying she’s not qualified. Ok then what makes her unqualified, and what made other VPs in the past qualified??

Pence’s name wasn’t presented as a viable candidate to be President. So there was no need to speak about his incompetence. But best believe he would have gotten that same backlash.
Has Pence pandered to black Americans pretending to be them because many of us will allow someone who smoked weed in college and listened to TuPac to anchor themselves in our blackness, deceive us and continuously give us no policy? We’ve known what’s up with Pence and the Trump administration from jump and also those of us who’ve followed the actual politics of Biden Harris know what’s up too there is no lesser of two evils for us here. They are one in the same when it comes to keeping us as a permanent bottom class.

It’s all a play on emotion and never any real policy for us. Also the disrespect to our people walking over Edmund Pettus Bridge and that speech she chose to give was shameful. I pledge my vote to none of the above we have no one on our side truly but TMH our group is in dire need of more than just political talking heads and no policy specific to our needs. We need a lawyer to help us sort out our situation in this country as Native black Americans who are the descendants of the American Chattel Slave. We do not need someone who is pretending that they like us, or that they are us when they need our vote. They need our vote to further keep us as a bottom caste in the country our ancestors built via forced free labor to appease and do the bidding for those who truly finance them and control this country the billionaires.

IMHO that’s an insult thinking you gotta come out skinning and grinning acting like that’s all that matters to black voters. When it comes to policy with all due respect they’re not hearing us ever, or just laugh us off and hand over what we ask for to other “POC.’ Again as a group it doesn’t matter about likability if there is no specific policy for us and she made it obvious while running for the presidency don’t ask. To specifically quote her ‘So I’m not gonna sit here and say I’m gonna do something that’s only gonna benefit black people noooo.” If those sentiments have changed and she plans on specific policy just for our group because it’s a necessity then maybe I will see things differently. Because specificity has been clear with this current administration when it comes to the war in Ukraine, Israel, illegal Immigration’s open border policy and the focus on AAPI entrepreneurship and businesses for Asian Americans and crime bills specifically for Asian Americans and antisemitism laws. But black Americans got a speech about the war in Israel while she walked across Edmund Pettus bridge, the bridge anchored in black American lineage where our people were beaten to a bloody pulp marching for the rights and freedoms specifically for black Americans. Sadly the rights that this current administration and Trump’s administration are trying to 💩on daily. VP Harris hosting hip hip celebration parties and pretending to be the home girl from around the way because she knew those kinds of girls in college is not policy it’s insulting and actually a lot more of NOTHING. While I’d agree that VP Kamala Harris should definitely finish out Biden’s term I’m not a fan of how it looks, or she got brown skin like me and she’s a woman. I’m a fan of what actions are being taken, what laws are being implemented to help protect my people, to economically help my people not be a permanent underclass going forward in this country, not have the laws my people fought and died for mocked and eventually taken away, not having everyone who isn’t us anchor themselves in our history to give us their arse to kiss when they get in that position they wanted. As far as the actual Presidency it’s none of the above. Voting is transactional and with every other group that appears to be understood. As they have been prioritized in front of our faces and we have had to continuously step back because everybody else has to come ahead of us it’s the American way. If VP Harris believes what benefits the black family benefits America as a whole is open borders, Asian hate Crime Bill’s, AAPI advocacy, recognition for and helping to fund Asian American small businesses, antisemitism laws then she don’t care about what happens to black American people. But at least Truancy laws like she introduced as DA specifically throwing single black mothers in jail for keeping their sick children home from school was not revisited.

I’m from California. I have NEVER understood this antipathy for Vice President Harris. Even when she was elected as attorney general here. I know in California there were people who disliked her because of her past as a prosecutor. But I don’t get it now.

Complete BS. She basically said the quiet part out loud, which is rational. She wasn’t running for President of Black People, she was running for POTUS. By helping as many people as she could, those benefits would also assist Black people as well. Think about ACA. It wasn’t designed specifically for BIPOC, but guess who benefitted a ton? Student loan forgiveness isn’t an explicitly pro Black policy but it would disproportionately assist working class Black families that are being held back because of loans. Same with middle-class tax relief, infrastructure funding, etc.

Don’t forget about the Truancy laws as DA that also largely impacted young black American single mothers having some of them thrown in jail from keeping their child out of school because they were hospitalized for a medical condition. I would love to find a qualified black woman candidate for POTUS but sadly Kamala isn’t it. She wasn’t qualified to be VP IMO. Give me Cori Bush or Nina Turner. Someone progressive. Someone with a backbone and principles.

I'm a black woman who supported her vice presidency. Kamala has been highly unpopular and unimpressive. If the goal is to win over independents and not alienate the base, I don't see how Kamala is effective. I don't believe it has anything to do with race or sex.
People just need to accept the fact that Veep Harris is not well liked (even by the Black community...like beyond the Black elite class, she isn't respected or liked and that's just the honest truth)....Even the West Wing people don't like her tuat much as well, they just tolerate her because now she is useful as a surrogate....and as for DJT's Veep!? Well he already said he would announce that at the GOP convention....what people should hope for is that he doesn't pick JD Vance (as he can give Veep Harris a run for her money intellectually) or Stefanik (as that will appeal to Suburban Women even if they hate Trump)....and other pick from the bunch and Harris would smoke them in a debate.....
What do you think a VP does? It’s amazing that she’s being held to a standard that no other VP has ever been held to. She’s been a solid VP, does what she is tasked with doing and unlike Cheney or LBJ, isn’t actively usurping the POTUS at any and every turn.

No one gave a good gat dern about VP responsibilities for the past 15 years, but now when there is a minority woman at the helm folks want to pull out the policy and procedure booklet. I'm a white dude, so take this with a grain of salt, but I think it has more to do with VP Harris being a strong woman than black. I'm married to a smart, opinionated, strong-willed woman and, in my observation, nothing triggers a man more than a strong, outspoken female. I say this partially because we elected Obama twice and rejected Hillary despite her being more qualified. Personally, I would vote for a President Harris in a heartbeat. The administration should do a better job with her public image. It feels like they don't let her be authentic, which is to be tough. I think she shines in those off the cuff moments.
