The Quilts of Valor Foundation is featuring the "Floating Ohio Star" quilt block pattern for their 2018/19 Quilt Block Drive. Interested in making this quilt block? Please go to www.qovf.org/ to obtain the free pattern download and completed block mailing instructions. The use of the Accuquilt Go and Studio is helpful for accurate cutting. Thank you Ms. T. for making this beginner friendly block fun and easy.
I came across your tutorial for the "Floating Ohio Star" by pure chance and I find your explanations very easy to understand. I also love the way you explained what can be done with the "cut offs" from the star. Thank you and I will certainly look out for more of your creations.
Thanks Anita for watching and commenting, all the way from London! I have a playlist of quilt block videos and hopefully that will keep you busy until I upload more. Happy quiltling!
You have an Accuquilt system?!! I'm so jealous. I want the GO! Big. I'm throwing hints for my birthday which is right after Black Friday. Anyway this block is fun and easy. Good ideas for the leftover blocks. Thanks
Thanks for demo'ing this very difficult-looking block! May I suggest showing newbs how to lay the blocks of the 9-patch over each other before stitching? This is the only reason I could see someone down-voting this video; though, that wouldn't justify a down vote. Anyhoo...Thanks for sharing. Peace.
Is the sandpaper to grip the fabric while you're marking the diaganol lines? I don't want to assume 😀. I love the Navy and Whie together. It looks so sharp and rich. Nice color choices.

Thanks Tea for another great and easy block. Amazing all the other blocks that can be created. Thanks again for sharing.
I love how you think ahead to make use of the leftover triangles!
Thank you Imogene. I don't trash anything I know I can use.
I love this block and will be using in a QOV for a Navy Veteran. I love your idea for the bonus blocks so I will be doing that too!
My pleasure! Have fun working on your project.
Thank you Tea for a very informative and easy tutorial.
No complicated measuring out. More please!
Greetings from London.

Lovely. Thank you! 8-)
My pleasure Sherri!

Hi Jody,
Yes, the sandpaper grips as you are drawing the lines, especially when diagonal across the bias. Thanks so much for watching and commenting!
I love the blocks I’m going to try them thank you
Have fun Sarah.
