'Sea Change' was my favourite Beck album. I still listen to tracks from the album daily. This track is great.
Definitely my favorite as well. Incredible from start to finish. Hopefully this new album is a return to that sound.

I forgot how much I loved this track.
The fact that Beck won gives me renewed hope that good, heartfelt quality music still lives on and has a place. This coming from a fan of Mostly Metal and Alternative. This has the soul of Neil Young, the rural flavor the Tragically Hip and the timlessness evident in all great music.
This is honestly the first 'Beck song' I have listened to and it is really extraordinary!! Reminds me of Coldplay a bit but with a lot of folk..love it!!!

In my opinion, it doesn't really matter how long it takes you to find about artists like Beck, so long as you can appreciate it once you do. Go check out his older albums, as they are just as great, if not better! BTW Beck>Every pop "artist" of today

Wow at least Beyonce writes all her own songs, doesn't need a production company to produce an album, plays 14 instruments, has been active since the 1980s, has a distinct, original style and remains an independent artist who has successfully made 12 studio albums and sold 2x and 3x platinum albums.... oh wait, that's Beck.

A true musical "artist" whose type of talent we have not seen in many, many years. His ability to change his musical styles and remain fresh and original is reminiscent of many artists of the 1960s.

other 'best albums' were better collections of songs but cannot compare to what Beck delivered as an album in its entirety... albums are reviewed as a single entity, like a story and a theme, a mood... an experience.

Beyonce's album is literally nothing but a story to be viewed in a specific order and in it's entirety, with a story and theme and definitely an experience. Not only did she create an experience through the music, but she also added a visual aspect to the entire album. Do not say that the other albums were not worthy.

The whole album is freaking amazing and the award couldn't be more deserved. Many people are complaining that they never heard about Beck, which is a shame because he has been in the music industry for a long time now and has produced really good music so far... Anyway, is good to know that is still some hope for music nowadays
My favorite song by him. Without question. I return to it every few months and give it a few listens, as if I need it for perspective or clarity. It's just one of those songs.

I'm really glad Beck won album of the year. I'm not incredibly familiar with his music, but he is an extremely talented musician. Keyword: MUSICIAN. He plays many of the instruments on this album, wrote the music (and lyrics) and his ideas actually make you think. With all the hype and controversy over his win, it's a good sign that the Grammys honored artistic merit over the most popular choice. It's not to say that the other album nominees lacked talent or artistry, but when something like this comes along that truly deserves to win, it's nice to see it happen.
That being said, the Grammys still don't mean much and shouldn't be a measuring stick for anything.

The problem with Beck songs is that they are never long enough, so I have to play the whole album on repeat.
Wow, I'm impressed that the academy picked this as album of the year. It's melodic. well produced, got some decent song writing matter, and stands by itself. Real music in other words. It doesn't need to have half clothed women shaking their rump in order to sell it. I hope this is a trend for the future and we can get back to what makes music music,and not some BS visual imagery. Can we just sit back and listen to music the way it was meant to be perceived with our ears and not with our eyes. Good for Beck.

Whenever I see Beck I think of my late son, they both have the same eyes. He introduced me to Beck as an old man and I listen to Beck to keep his memory fresh in my head.
This reminds me of the times when my dad lived in Dallas, Texas in an apartment. We would listen to this song in the car while we would be going to this restaurant called Goodfriends. We also listened to it at his apartment, which smelled like extremely bitter brownies. Those were the days. If I ever make an FPS, I’m going to make a secret map that you can access if you beat a certain Easter egg on a previous zombie map (my game will be called Hell on Earth and it’ll have Campaign, Multiplayer, and Undead). It’ll be Dallas, and this song will be playing in one of the buildings. This song is Awesome man.

I live out in Arizona and whenever I 'try' to listen to the radio I find abrasiveness. Consequently I don't listen much. But I was lucky enough to find "Heart Is A Drum". And now, whenever I dare to use some of my library computer time to explore Beck . . . I constantly impressed with his being versed in instrumentation and mixing things up composition wise. AND he seems lucky enough to find people who believe in exploring expressiveness.

Very few artists make albums that you can listen to all the way through. This entire album has a feel that is very distinct in and of itself and yet it has a clear sonic theme. It is how albums use to be made. It's lush and it has these surprises that keep you coming back and interested. Perfect

This is one of those melodies that capture a dour, heartbreaking feel that just barely keeps me from crying because it chose to submerge its sound in a sort of merciful optimism. To mind, only this and "Age of Consent" by New Order can make feel this particular way.

Beck, Stone Roses, NIN, Radiohead, Manic Street Preachers, and a few others were the only good artists to come out of the 1990s (I'm just listing rock bands, there were hundreds of amazing rappers to come out of the 1990s too). People forget there was a lot more shitty music in the 1990s than we like to remember. JS

Definitely worth album of the year. This album in on repeat, I haven't had an album on repeat since Beck's latest album.
At first I felt like Beyoncé should have won the award, or Ed, or Sam Smith and I've never heard of Beck but now that i know who he is, I'm glad he won. His music is exceptional and he deserves that award and to be acknowledged by more people for the work that he's done.
he has such outstanding musical capabilities. I can tell he's a very sensitive person; you'd have to be to create this kind of complicated music. his work has a lot depth, nuance, vulnerability and is highly original in its composition; he's very, very unique in an industry that's fueled by cookie-cutter, common, boring, stale music.
