You give praise wherever it is due to whatever team or player- even the ones blowing your (still?) beloved Maple Leafs out of the rink. You give the best commentating on all aspects of hockey of any I have ever heard. Thanks! You keep the game fun for me.

      Lol, when I first read your comment, I thought you wrote power play instead of pk. I thought to myself, "who is this dumb mofo." Then I checked whether "big brain" was intended to be sarcastic, and I decided, not. So then I watched the play again as I had seen it live, and I was like oh he was on the pk!! I thought it was a power play. That's what I love about McDavid and certain other players. You feel like at times it doesn't matter who is on the ice against him or how many..😂

      Yeah. Scotty Bowman used to do it in Detroit as well. "Let's see, who should kill this penalty? Brett Hull!"

    So you included the Knies goal but not Kartye’s goal? It’s pretty disappointing that we get left out of a lot of hat picks, but of all of the different cool hat pick worthy things Seattle did the last week you pick an Eberle goal and preface it with how he broke Cogliano’s neck? It is so disheartening as a Kraken fan how overlooked they still are. They won round 1 of the playoffs against a beast of a team, they’re in round 2 and leading the series so far and broke Oettinger in the 3rd game to where he was swapped out, they won that game 7-2, 16 different players on the Kraken have scored goals just in the post season, and the only time they get mentioned in this hat picks is Eberles goal, a pretty standard save by Oettinger, and a Dallas goal against the Kraken in a series the Kraken are leading. I don’t know what Steve has against the Kraken, but I do know the leafs are going to get swept, and the Kraken will not.

    I just had to go to look the NHL stats to see how much better Draisaitl is in playoffs. The result is more than stunning. It's unreal.
    I looked first the top 50 all time scorers with 400+ games played and sorted them out by ppg. Then I took their ppg from playoffs and calculated the difference. In regular season Draisaitl is already among the best all time with 1,17 ppg, which is 16th all time. But during playoffs he doesn't just elevate his game, he skyrockets it with 1,65 ppg. That's an increase of 0,48 ppg. The next best improvements in the ppg from regular season to playoffs are MacKinnon 0,23 (1,07-1,30), Rantanen 0,19 (1,05-1,24) and Messier 0,18 (1,07-1,25). After those players the improvements (for the 4 player that have improvement (Kurri, McDavid, Perrealt and Beliveau) are minor 0,01-0,05.
    Oh, and that 1.65 ppg in playoffs ranks 2nd all time. Come playoff time, calling Draisaitl a beast is an understatement!

    Yoooo major party foul not including the Kraken game where they just OBLITERATED Ottinger's heart, soul, and spirit within about 7 minutes of a single period with 5 goals from 5 different players, the first one being FROM A PUCK THAT HIT SOMEONE IN THE FACE AND LANDED GIFTWRAPPED FOR EBERLE IN FRONT OF THE GOALCREASE! And he just did a fancy neat lil spin-o-rama to rub some salt into the bop on the puck into the goal.

    • @PMorrow84
      @PMorrow84 Год назад +1

      Yo. That whole game was more of one giant Dang-It from the Stars.
      And maybe let's not glorify a player getting injured. Most Kraken fans I'd seen so far have so much more class than this comment.
      Kraken played a great game, but once Miro was injured by that deflected puck, it knocked the wind out of the Stars and the Kraken finished the job. Good on them, but if it wasn't for the injury (WHICH SHOULD BE A DANG-IT NOT A HAT PICK), then I bet the outcome of that game would have been very different.

    • @angiebee2225
      @angiebee2225 Год назад +1

      @@PMorrow84 and @Angie Bee Whoops just now seeing this. Yeah i didn't mean to sound elated or trying to glorify what happened, just the sheer audacity of it was insane almost disrespectful, which is what i was trying to get across rather than a "rah rah we beat them rah rah" kind of tone. In any case, we're down now so if karma is a thing, there we go. It did end up being in a dang it video which is fair! @@thecaffeinequeen yoooo! You are an awesome hockey fan for that, and I hope to see much more Dallas/Seattle in the future because Seattle fans compared to Minnesota fans are 1000% more classy.
      After Pavs was injured (concussed) in round 1, Minnesota fans largely just called him weak and that the Wild should continue throwing hits like that.
      Also, coming from a coffee roaster, your user name rocks.

      @@PMorrow84 Aw, thanks! Yeah I can admit when I sounded like a douche, but I do hope to see more Dallas/Seattle matchups in the future too! The Stars fans are also pretty classy (well most of them! The ones Yelling Grubauer when the Kraken are down to mock him, a little less so) - moreso than the avs fans from the first series! They got pretty brutal attacking Kraken / Kraken fans for a bit there after they lost.
      Honestly though, I think Minnesota and 'Yotes Fans are probably the two most toxic fanbases in hockey right now. Pavs is an EXCELLENT player and gods do we miss him in San Jose (SJ sharks were my 'hometown' team but after the Great Tradeoff a few years ago, I started checking out other teams) dude is sooo far from weak, especially returning after that NASTY head injury against VGK a few years ago. I can't stand the Avs, but I'm disgusted that the league didn't do anything about it. That, right there, is exactly why boarding is a penalty, can be called a major, and can also have supplementary discipline. Cogliano's head was down before Eberle even started skating toward him. There was no last minute position change that made it worse. Ugh.

    Boston guy, just begining to take that grimace off my face, who am I kidding, fk me, Toronto, oh how I can relate, Panthers must've gotten some voodoo priestess to hex us, I mean, down 3 to 1, then they rip off 6 in a row against 2 of the best teams in the NHL. There's no magical plays, no science of how to play, it's a plain old run. Dammit.

    Eberle was traded from the Oilers because they needed a scapegoat for McDavid disappearing in his first playoffs. The accusation being that Eberle was soft and wouldn't go to the hard areas, though shot location stats showed that Eberle was playing in the middle and it was McDavid playing the perimeter. McDavid has gotten better, but it wasn't because Eberle got sent packing. For the record, Strome was decent, but misused. If I'm remembering right, it was Eberle for Strome for Spooner for Gagner for Athanasiou, who they let walk as a free agent. It took four trades to have nothing to show for him.

      Ebs is great, and I miss him, but I have a hard time faulting Chiarelli's logic of "you don't pay six mill+ a year to a player with two assists in 13 playoff games".
      Still love ebs, still miss him, but I do understand the reasoning.

    • @sushiwajushwa4168
      @sushiwajushwa4168 Год назад

      it was definitely a huge failure to lose eberle for nothing but lets not pretend he was a scape goat for mcdavid. eberle had only 2 secondary assists in 13 games that playoffs and was a -6. mcdavid was only 19 and was actually laying the body here and there, was he getting out battled by grown men in the corners sometimes? yes but thats not a huge surprise considering he was still a teenager and was still nearly a ppg player that year. thats not what i call disappearing. chia was too quick to trade ebs and would make a lot of idiot moves that year but lets not get carried away with this "mcdavid dissapearing in playoffs" rhetoric. ebs was invisible that playoffs and fans were right to be frustrated with him.
      happy to see ebs find some success in seattle though hope he keeps it going.

    You need a third show: Steve’s BS-Moves or something to cover all the absolutely terrible calls and non-calls every week. These playoffs would give you about an hour a week! The hit on Cogliano, the double hit and smash on Knies, and the double hit on Bunting are complete and utter BS. There were more, but for the first two they both caused serious injury. The NHL needs to get in gear and start caring about players and taking concussions and neck injuries seriously like other leagues do. Yes, stuff happens, but there is or there needs to be NO place for deliberate head hits.
    If they intentionally headhunt and target the head or neck it’s an automatic boot from the game, if there’s an injury it’s an automatic suspension for the same amount of games the injured player has to miss up to a limit, and if they’re a repeat offender fine them far more than a pittance.

    Both Draisaitl AND Pavelski score 4 goals in one game, yet their teams lose. Not how you want to start a series if you're the Oilers or Stars, and both teams are now down 2 games to 1.

    Canes obliterated Jersey in games 1&2 (and now 4) but just the 1 clip in this video. Guess it’s because the Canes play consistent, defensive, forechecking hockey that doesn’t usually require flashy scoring or crazy goalie saves.
    But scoring 4 goals in 5.5 minutes in the second period of game 4 better be in next week. And maybe that Freddie save where Timo preemptively celebrated is a dang it because 😂 thank god they didn’t accept our offer for him. Not worth it.
