- Its time to take command of the Mobile Infantry and hot drop onto a ugly planet. A bug planet. Can we win the day? Or will this be just another failure like Big K.

Imagine if the devs of this and petroglyph teamed up to make a empire at war sequel.
No, that’s a terrible idea. I’d never get anything done ever again, my productivity would become zero, instantly!
Add the scale of Supreme Commander into the mix as well 😬
@@elise3455idk about that, my adhd can't handle that large a scale
I'd rather have COH style ground combat or even something a little more tactical like MAW or something. Ooh, and some homeworld style 3d space combat would be amazing in the Star wars universe.
@@Skenderbeuismyhero that sounds pretty sweet, honestly I'd just like transport vehicles to be useful
I fully agree Shack, some kind of rts galactic conquest game for Starship Troopers would be amazing!
Hey! I know you!
@josephehlers2040 haha well hello there 👋 😁
Starship trooper fans EATING GOOD this year, for real for real.
I mean, this game is about a year old but yea.
When you said the bugs were designed for a tremors sequel it made some of the designs make so much more sense.
It's not just Firefly that uses the Starship Troopers uniforms. So many were made for all the extras that they still pop up in productions today. One of the Power Rangers shows used them.
Captain did you know you can just select all your units, then click reinforce and your entire army will be reinforced so you don’t have to micro as much.
It also only uses one drop ship also for smaller units like officers and sniper/rocket teams if you transport wounded units they will be healed enrout3, but not reinforced.
Shack: the internals of the Morita Rifles were bull pup Ruger Mini-14s. The Pulse Rifle from Aliens had the Thompson inside.
The one with the Ruger Mini-14 was the Morita I Carbine used by spaceship pilots etc. Also found in the emergency escape pods from Federation space ships.
The Morita I Assault Rifle was made from a Ruger AC556k and an Ithaca M37 12-gauge pump action shotgun.
Loved Starship Troopers growing up. Actually thought this and the Power Rangers universe were one and the same. Lost Galaxy's actually reused the props from ST for their troopers in the show. It a funny little known thing.
Yeah I remember that aswell. A lot of movies and tv shows used the left over armor and weapons from start ship troopers
Firefly also had the Starship Troopers armour in the train heist episode with purple highlights painted on. Made me do a double take.
The insides of the guns in the movie were Ruger mini-14s, the shotgun part was a Ithaca 37 I believe, and the polymer shell is based on the Nerf Longshot
the nerf longshot didn't exist back then. it was a bullpup chassis with an extended barrel and shroud.
The production team made so many sets of armor for the film that a lot of them were sold to prop houses to recoup losses from the films box office failure. That means a lot of other scifi films and TV shows used it instead of spending money crafting their own uniforms.
Off the top of my head they appeared in the movie Impostor, Firefly, the Lost Galaxy season of Power Rangers, a handful of "scifi channel originals" and at least one adult film which I'll decline to mention here.
I think you can still buy or rent actual movie used costumes to this day.
Captin' I recommend custom "Green Zone" campaign as well (look up videos to get the feel of it) - thats really well-made and hard campaign where you get to fend off not only bugs but also infected troopers!
In this game you never want to move all your units at once because they don't shoot while moving. You have to stagger move while one unit overwatches.
By wanting to jump planet to planet you just described Dawn of War
Did anyone else feel pain that he left an entire squad of riflemen and two turrets behind after the third hive, and then a third turret at the last hive so he had only two left for that final push?
How about his constant addictive need to have half his army made up of Flamethrower wielding Engineers, When he only remembers to use one group actively who's use... Essentially Ends at having one because none of their bonuses stack and two-flamethrowers dont make a stronger barrier.
And the riflemen put in more than triple the number of kills, even when he is actively ignoring them and not intending them to get those kills? I swear this man would rather take 8 Humvees over 4 shermans in a Tank Fight with how he builds his armies.
The internals for the guns in Alien and Starship Troopers were ruger mini-14s in a plastic case that converted them into bullpups. You can actually buy these prop gun cases online if you ever want to have the gun from Alien or ST
Pretty sure the M41 was built around a Thompson originally, with an aluminium body. That one definitely wasn't a bullpup.
The Morita I Assault Rifle used by the Mobile Infantry in the first movie were based on Ruger AC556k with a built in Ithaca M37 12-gauge pump action shotgun.
The Carbines used by pilots like Zander and escape podded flight crew were built around the Ruger Mini-14.
Attack move shack. It does wonders. :P
Also, you can use few dropships by reinforcing multiple squads with the same command/request. It will save you on later missions.
A sick game, I’m really looking forward to the expansion they have planned
Don't forget to use fire and movement. Have one squad ready to fire while the other moves to the next position. When that squad is in position move up your other squad. This way you won't get caught out of position running around a corner into the enemy.
Aliens has the Tommy Gun as the pulse rifle. Starship Troopers were bullpup (magazine at the back) Ruger Mini-14 conversions, with an Ithica 12 gauge strapped to the front.
What a video to get back into Shack's style of content!
Technically it's the other way around as Starship Troopers came out long before Firefly. The armor from the films shows up in the oddest places including soldier armor in Power Rangers Lost Galaxy
Considering how many of those suits they had to make for the movie I'm bit surprised.
Shack's Slackers > Rico's Roughnecks
The Tommy gun was indeed what the M41A pulse rifle from Aliens. The Morita was a Ruger 556 bullpup.
That armour pops up a bunch. It also got used in Gundam G Savior. A live action canadian movie
So a few things that would make your life a little easier.
You can just right click a nearby pad with a wounded unit and you don't need to go through the other menu button.
The yellow bar on HMG, left of the icon, needs to go green, or the construction isn't complete, and therefore won't rotate/fire.
That's all I can remember of that game. But it might streamline it for you.
Having read the book first, and only after saw the film, i prefer the first. For curiosty, in the book the humans lost the first battle for klendathu, and the second one starts at the end of the book.
Eh, I prefer the film generally because the book is just... Weirdly Fascist.
Shack talking bout them dam Purple bellies from the Alliance...love fire fly
A word of wisdom captain shack engineers are perfect for clearing put bug holes due to their small squad size
Fun fact. Not only the bugs where used from another project that went in another direction. But a lot of the outfits and props were redesigned and reused from a canceled Star Wars project
Starship Troopers Stunt Morita Assault Rifle is a custom made stunt gun for movies no real internals in it.
Fun fact the armour is also used although slightly modified in Crusade the Babylon5 spin off 😊
YES ! Shack yes.... I would like to know more!!!!
engineers are so op they even construct marines to man the hmgs
Firefly was the Alliance.
Shack if you're talking about the bombing run it's not the Tac Officer but the Fleet Liason. Also Fleet Liason has the same function as a Radio Operator.
Also a smaller squad, ex engineers, will take less time to clear the bug holes than rifle troops. Certain squads can't be sent in to clear them at all; Rockets, snipers, radio op, Fleet Liason, and Tac Officers.
I need the narrator to tell me what I'm going to find out on the next time on Duel Night
"MI does the dying, fleet just does the flying" - Rico
Is Starship Troopers about to become one of the great sci fi franchises? Cause im here for it.
Starship Troopers is my favorite scifi movies! & I love this game too!
Crush those bugs!
I absolutely loved seeing the Alliance soldiers in firefly wearing the armor from this movie, sidenote I'd love it if an empire at war remake played like this slash company of heroes, the size of this map is big enough that transports would be more useful but not so big it'd be tedious
he is fine, he is just taking a nap
I think the Federation shound start considering starforts for better killzones instead of straight walls.
Whenever you get the Mark 2 troopers I recommend you have 2 squads so when they both get max level you can have both abilites so you aren’t caught out by the differant bugs the abilities specialize against
[Intel]
So I don't know if you know, but you can click right of the name of your units in the bottom right, and rename them. May be something you can do for community members.
Shack, you're right in the Alien M41A pulse rifle internals being a Thompson, the internals for this I think were a bullpup'd Ruger Mini-14
YESSSSS!!!! I do want to see more!!!!
So glad you went this route rather than WH.
Terran Command is the most frustrating RTS that I ever played, because in most RTS, I like to keep my troops, but the whole point of this game, is that all the troops are expendable, that in point with the message of the movie, but it can cause a slaughter with your troops and set back all the progress that you have made or lose the mission all together.
Like for the movie trivia.^^
18:19 its literally just the movie that said that, the books and even the roughnecks animated series they have things like the transport bug, which is just far more plausible and accurate
ITS BACKKKKKKK, LETS GOOOOOOOOOOOO
the cars look like the cybertruck from Tesla a bit
Playing on the hardest difficulty? Hell yeah!
What if Tremors was a prequel to Starship Troopers?
Think about it... the worms could have been aliens that were dropped on earth.
No way these are local boys.
The MG turret DOES rotate shack you just have to finish BUILDING IT first.
I hope the add some things the Roughnecks animated series. But, I suspect there is a rights issue.
Well looks like I’m rewatching firefly after this lol
Aliens dark descent campaign would be great qlso
I have been waiting for this series to drop I'm a big fan of the book, movie, and the channel
The only good Bug 🐜 is a DEAD BUG ☠️
Kill bug. Very satisfying. Nuff said
I love the crappy movie, and I love that it lives on.
It was original for the starship that's where the uniforms been handed down to other sci-fi shows Babylon 5 crusade used it for the Marines
The only good bug is a dead bug. Now let's make these bugs GOOD!
Really Cool!
I’m doing my part by commenting
Wasn't a gag, the entire movie was a superb critique on fascism.
Well, it was *intended* to be a satire of ‘fascism”, (or rather Verhoven’s personal idea of ‘fascism”) but it unintentionally became a decent promotion for a voluntary Meritocratic society.
Why yes, I would indeed like to know more
You can also attack move to get your squads to advance to a location but they stop to attack everything along the way so you need to do less micro. Has the downside of some of your shorter range troops like your engineers getting super aggressive though.
Starship troopers won the vote, let's goooooooo
Bruh i thought everyone wanted Warhammer
Edit:ye i checked the replies to shacks comment on whether he should play starship or warhammer and it was like 80/20 split for warhammer.
Im officially puzzled😂
This is going to be EPIC
This is gonna be a good series
This game starts out pretty easy but missions become insane charnel houses close to the back end of the game. Good luck.
I think the next game you should play through is commander conquer if possible
Hi just found your channel enjoying it so far just wanted to let you know you're missing a video in the playlist, episode four of the DLC
Welcome to the Roughnecks
Captain Shacks Roughnecks OOOORAAH!!🪖🪖
You have made me purchase a 23 dollar game for steam sale plus a starship troopers game so good luck on your campaign shack there are some really hard missons even on normal good luck and good luck to the units you forgot about.(like some snipers)
Fresh meat for the grinder!
I’m pretty sure you forgot about one of your rifle squads and left them by the bridge.
Doing your part service guarantee citizenship
HELL YEAH WE WON
Aint no way!❤
oooh a new playthrough?! :D :D :D
i wonder how flame grilled bug meat teasts?
they also reused the armour from this in Power Ranger Lost Galaxy
Cool
Time to do our part citizens!
pfft I voted for Warhammer!
This game is 10 times better than Company of Heroes 3. And I'm just watching this game it's good
any plans to upload an Ares at war series in he near future Shack?
I would like to know more.
Just wondering but will you do a series on xenonauts 2 once that is released?
There's also a large scale PvE FPS called "Starship Troopers: Extermination" and it is a lot of fun especially with friends!
please help, in steam the launcher not found, Does anybody have an idea? thanks
Yeah, in the movie they just ran around in big blobs fighting swarms of arachnids. But that's incredibly stupid. Proper tactics, use of infantry support weapons, heavy weapons like mortars, ATGMs, grenademachineguns and IFVs/APCs and the bugs would be butchered.
But Verhoeven wanted to make fun about a book he didn't even read, because someone told him it was a right wing/nazi ideology book.
The book is awesome and the warfare in it is sound.
In Roughnecks Starship Troopers even having Mechs wasn't much of a help, because the Arachnids overwhelm in numbers, it not matter how technological superior you are, if they are more in numbers and sooner or later they would cut you in pieces.
@@TheKeyser94 still going after the verhoeven film and not the book. it's a bit more faithful to the book, but main inspiration is still the movie. in the books the human federation wasn't winning by the end, but they weren't loosing either.
A really cool idea for a tutorial would have been the opening fight against the other aliens from the book.
Not much to look at when you scrape them off your boot
For ze earth...
