people like you are the backbone of this country, I have done some time on the Dairy Farm, it is hard work. We all owe the farmers and ranchers in this country a great deal of thanks and respect for what you all do!! Without you we would all starve!!

The pride you, your dad, employee(s) have in your farming operation deserves to be showcased in these segments. If that one cow could speak, she surely would have said, “Excuse me. I just couldn’t help it.”

Whatever idea I may have had about dairy farming has been blown away. Your physical energy and time is amazing. Add in the expense of equipment, housing, repair of structures and equipment is bizarre. Then the cost of properly taking care of your animals, feeding them, medical care, etc. All my amazement from watching this one, my very first, of your videos. Thank you for adding into your day the time and energy in putting this/these videos together.

I definitely approve of the change of mat. Much more suitable. You maybe able to utilize the others on high turning areas in the shed for the herd if you can attach them. Turning on concrete can be hard on the hip joints and uneven wear of the hoof. They also can make great door mats to trap the dirt.

I used to stay in London (what a nightmare) but thankfully we moved to South West England, close to Bridgwater in Somerset. I absolutely love it here. It's a small village, 10 minutes from everything yet it's countryside. And every afternoon we hear the cows mooing, "milk me". They're couple minutes away, such beautiful animals. So I enjoyed watching your videos. I appreciate it's hard, consistent work but you can be proud of your farm.

really nice parlor. I'd love to have that. I've milked in tie barns and in some very old parlors. The oldest was built in the 50's. 3 cows came in per side. they stood in line and we slid doors between each one. A lot of distance for just 3 cows. We fed grain in the parlor. At the bottom of these doors was a trough for the grain. It didn't work all that bad and I certainly prefer to any tie barn I've been in, but it took me 4 hours to milk 100 cows. So doing both milkings, plus feeding, and all the other chores made for some very long days. 4am to 9 or 10 at night if nothing went wrong. That was the first farm where I really fell in love with dairying in the early 90's. Sad to say it's part of a nearby golf course now. Most good land around here in northeastern NY, Lake Champlain and Hudson Valley regions has been developed or is currently being developed/butchered faster than farmers can hang on to just a few acres here and there. What these people don't seem to get is they want to move and build here because it's so beautiful, but 10 or 20 years after they do it's all developed and not beautiful anymore. so another farming area goes down for the next batch of developers. I've been watching it happen for 45 years now.

One of my favorite things about your farm is the "special needs cows" I've seen farms that won't even bother with animals that need extra care and attention. They usually just get sent to a slaughter house. Really shows you care more about your cattle then a lot of the bigger farms who mostly just see them as a tool for making money.
