I can totally resonate with what you’re saying . I’ve been on a spiritual journey for over 10 years and relationships have taught me a lot too . I’ve been single for almost 3 years and like you mentioned it’s because I crave a deeper more spiritual connection . Many people seem to be in how social connections where they’re either together with children and trying to just play the role of being in a marriage and doing what they have to but they’re miserable or some relationships as you said are one sided or the toxic traits keep them codependent on eachother . Or some where they just hangout and have sex but there’s no depth and deep love . I’m on that journey too of working on myself , I’m open to love and I have gone of a few dates , but it’s just been a very long time since I’ve felt a connection and felt someone could grow with me that shares the same goals, values and similar perspectives. A lot of people too just focus on what they can get out of the other person and don’t see it as an actual partnership. Thanks for your message ❤

I'll be honest I have given up on love, I know that sounds fatalistic. Currently I've been getting to know this guy I met last year slowly. I am the type of person who wants to know someone before I get involved but I think that has to do with trust issues.
Anyway it's been 9 months now and he is a nice guy and I like him. But so far I feel like I can't really be myself around him in terms of conversation. I have to edit myself in a way that feels like I'm holding back.
