Much like me and Blood Sausage I get that some stuff is unappetizing when presented/made a certain way. One pace is fine just like skipping is IF YOU INTEND to try the filler later to see if its stuff enjoyable by its own merit, whether or not you do does not matter to me so long as you considered doing it at some point. I skip the Chopper man junk because its to separated from the norm. But the movie tie ins or the Toriko cross overs; or some of the pre Thriller Bark filler to me is must see for entertainment level not relevance; altho I refuse to believe that Rainbow Mist is not spoiling Manga future events in some fashion.
Think about it this way, he forced himself to watch it and he could hardly keep himself woken up while watching it. Regardless of that he eventually fell in love with the story. He said in early stages only Arlong Park was good but if he loved that Arc I don’t see why he wouldn’t Barattie(bad spelling) arc. I believe his experience was bad because he was forcing himself to watch it, if he watches it now he will probably like it.
I’ve started to enjoy Skypiea more and more as I continue to rewatch it! I think the comedy is golden and the main story beats with Kalgara and Nolan’s are amazing;; I just think it might be pacing or maybe I just didn’t jive with the build up.
Skypiea is my personal favorite arc. Most people don’t like it because of Toei’s terrible pacing and padding, but it genuinely has some of the best world building, possibly the best and most emotionally charged flashbacks in the entire series, and one of the most memorable villains in Enel. Thriller Bark on the other hand…

@@jurtmcgurt6969no bro they cut out filler in episodes that are canon making the pacing better and more enjoyable. one pace clears in every way imaginable
If one piece could be longer i would love it even more, Part of the reason Is I finish shows fast, and sometimes have a hard time moving on to a new one, Ive rewatched shipuuden naruto for exmaple, and yeah, skypiea was a horrible snoozefest. I still watched it, but I would reccomend people skip it alltogether.
I don’t know, I’m probably in a minority here. While yes the post time skip pacing was definitely slower, I didn’t mind it as much as many people. For people who find it insufferable, that’s fair, but it doesn’t make it unwatchable to me. Plus, I haven’t watched one pace, but I wonder if they remove all the filler stuff, because there are food and funny moments that are filler or a scene while canon happen way different in the anime compared to the manga. Like the luffy lucci rematch in egghead, it doesn’t show luffy transforming into gear 5 and just cuts to them fighting. Like does one pace remove that awesome transformation scene, or do they keep it in. Because by their rules, that didn’t happen in the manga, so it should be cut. Plus I love a good amount of the filler arcs, but obviously they remove those.
One pace is still one of the worst fan edits I have ever seen, the editing bad, how they disrespect animators by removing very well animated cuts like whitebeard vs akainu in climax marineford because "that was not in the manga", I've read the manga and one piece anime adaptation is great, when recap is skipped pacing is good and how they elevate source material with important moments is incredible, and that formula "something that is not in the manga is bad" then remove all of the scenes that were filling the gaps in between the panels, manga and animation are different medium and there will be always changes or added content no matter how these people deny it, if I want to see 1 to 1 then I read the original source or just dont watch it
@JacoB-wp4ws Well, no other shows need a fan edit, I wonder why One piece is the only anime that needed one. Maybe because it's the only one with an absolute TRASH almost unwatchable pacing .
@kantbesober all what you yap about is the awkward cuts in some moments. Still 100 times better than watching 10s of hours of characters running or reaction shots
@ that is useless discusion becuase people hate how adaptations rushing trough the manga *cough cough* tokyo ghoul of cut key plot points, changed major content and in general rushed trough content in many anime, and yet despite one piece being one of the best manga to anime adaptations with how very loyal this anime is to the manga that elevates source material are saying its "terrible cuz slow pacing" in reality these people just are battle action fans that cannot comprehend anything other than action for more than 30 seconds
I didn’t realize people really have negative opinions of one pace it (imo) only gets rid of the all the things that makes one piece hard to watch at certain points
Yeah, I don’t get what he means by the beginning doesn’t hold up today… I started OP a year ago and caught up with the anime (non-One Pace) and I am now reading manga chapters. Early OP reminded me of when I was a kid watching Pokémon back in 1999. I get those nostalgic moments for someone who never watched it back then. There’s just something about that retro tropical art style that hooked me at the beginning.
I’ve been watching and reading one piece for 20 years and at any given point I was watching the English dub, the sub and the manga. I only caught up to fishman island last year from thriller bark. It took me 6 years to get through that from where I was originally. I started reading the manga from the start of the time skip and then the sub from there too and caught up to the dub to the start of fishman island only last year. It’s a long slog and any way you can get through it at whatever pace is fine. The best part about one piece is that as a newbie, you always have something to watch.
As someone who watches both, One pace is better by far. The moments you miss by watching One Pace are few and far between. Theres only really a few good anime only scenes that are cut and the even then, they've gone back and are re editing to make it a better mix the manga and anime only scenes together more.
@@Joyoboyogomu better than ppl who talk about the Toei’s one piece yet only watched one pace. Or ppl who try to talk about one piece yet have never watched or read it and have only seen one pace. Anyway I’ve seen both
I don’t follow influencers really, I just like One Piece videos, but it is always good to see anyone preaching the gospel so I’m for it. He doesn’t need to be a One Piece purist to be a fan. Not everyone needs to experience it the same way and get all of the references and connections. BUT imo the deepest way to experience One Piece is the best to me because there is so much work involved to make it as deep as it is. If you’re not experiencing the story that way, you’re also ignoring all the effort put into it. And if you’re doing that, it makes sense to not have as much respect for it. In terms of liking Luffy or not, I understand people that get upset. In the anime, specifically in English, he can be a bit annoying. BUT I do think it is legitimate to question the values of the person experiencing the story - unless your values align with them.
The narrative that dbz stand & charge up for 5 minutes is mad wrong a lot of people say that but they can never specify which specific fight does that (not saying you do that Syv) 😂
Facts ❤feel the same way we all get into seris differently we shouldn’t judge what they decide to do plus everyone has busy life’s so it different for everyone.
i actually enjoy the fishman island remastered.. who knew a little pacing and a few other improvements they made could be so worthwhile.. I kinda wish the remaster was of the saboady mini arc though.. they would have nailed the visuals like they have in the fishman island remaster
charlie is a faker. he started liking one piece because he realized everyone else in the community liked it. pewdiepie, speed, hasan all big one piece fans. also what a coincidence he starts putting out good one piece PR right around when the first season of netflix comes out. man is just getting a paycheck, hes a sham
@@jurtmcgurt6969Sounds like you just don’t understand it. Modern One Pace is so much better than where it was a few years ago. Their edits are seamless now. Not to mention that the episode counts are based on chapters.
@ What are you on about? Its very well edited, theres nothing wrong with its episode counts... its actually 100% accurate to the manga, unIike the Iow tier Toei anime.
Charlie becoming One Piece fan is unreal. That guy now has a bunch of One Piece TCG boxes, framed wall poster and strawhat logo. I don't like that guy for talking trash all the time about a bunch of other things and people. His game reviews are way better.
I started watching One Piece in 2022 and it was a bit boring at the start but not awful, the moment that grabbed me was when Mihawk appeared after that was mostly smooth sailing, I only watched One Pace in Dressrosa when the 10th Rebbeca flashback appeared, and went back to normal after the arc.
I despise musicals with a passion so Whole Cake was a rough one for me I can agree when people say they didn't like it, but I will say Katakuri vs Luffy was peak and the whole Sanji drama was cool as an emotional aspect.
One hundred % get watching one pace for Post time-skip, but for pre time skip especially you will miss a lot of good comedy and even emotional climaxes, I watched some One Pace episodes of Marineford and it totally butchered all of Garp's scenes. The way the music is supposed to slowly build up to the ace reveals and Garp's reveal of helping Roger to his breakdown of tears in front of Ace. It was all choppy and mismatched. In the One Pace mission of sticking to the manga they sacrifice all the work the anime put in to make a cinematic experience. Garp is in my top three characters for the whole story but if I only watched One Pace I would probably hate him or even be indifferent to him.
I think the best way to consume One Piece is still the manga. Even if we forget about pacing, the reason why you should read One Piece and not watch is the fact of censorship. So many things were cut out from anime which made the original look more mature.
The arts style really puts people off. I have best friends who cannot get into it because the art style is so outdated and goofy that they cant get attached.
The old art style or the art style in general? The art style isn’t anything over exaggerated or weird. Yes it has some weird looking characters, but the art style itself seems normal.
Started watching One Pace when I got to thriller bark and stopped whenever it was at the end of Wano Act 2 I believe. That was the most recent episode they had at the time. Most One Pace haters arguments make no sense or have very few exceptions where the original anime might be “better”. U can tell most of them have not watched a significant amount of One Pace because they probably wouldn’t have these ridiculous claims about it. I think most of them are just elitist because they spent all that time watching every episode of the original anime and that makes them a true fan and anything less than that (even skipping filler for some of them) makes u less of a fan to them lmao. Highly recommend One Pace for anyone wanting to catch up or watching the series for the first time. Or even switching to it mid way through like I did. Recommend doing so in skypiea lol
Toei has 2 flaws. Pacing and some filler. One pace has a at the very least a dozen flaws. Therefore one piece is better off that alone. one pace doesn’t elevate the viewing experience in the slightest. Awkward-cuts that don’t make sense, cutting out important scenes and extra dialogue, cutting out animation and choreography ect. I can keep going if u want. One pace is only for a rewatch not a first time watch, “ppl haven’t watched a significant amount of one pace” that’s rich coming from someone who hasn’t watched a significant amount of one piece. This is a strong opinion on toei coming from someone who hasn’t even watched it lol. I’ve seen both one piece and one pace, how can u give ur oplnlon after only watching one pace?
I started one piece anime back when it debut on 4kids 😂 English dubb and then religiously rewatched it in Japanese subbed back in 2005 because the anime was around the water 7 arc. And then I started reading the manga when I caught up to the anime back when weekly episodes were around thriller bark arc and back then the big 3 was still Naruto, bleach and one piece manga wise, so I religiously continued my one piece experience with the manga after I caught up to it and would watch the weekly anime. Back then it was way easier, I’m now 36, and my son is 16 now and he’s halfway through fishman island but he took breaks because of how bad the pacing was in most arcs. It’s not easy lol but it’s worth it
I don’t get why people wouldn’t like the scabbards. Most of them I like good enough, none of them I hated. Like the one I cared least about was Ashura Doji, but I still liked him.
Funny enough,, I love Ashura Douji,, he was by far my favorite because he was the most realistic out of the bunch. The tragedy of waiting 20 years for the prophecy was shown perfectly with him and how jaded he became.
imagine finally catching up to one piece then a youtuber drops a video about you saying ''Slimjabuck finished one piece..but with ONE PACE...''' it's almost a south park level skit

tbh, anime in general, i dont mind anime studio adding up things in each episode as long as it is good quality content... The problem with Toei, they repeated scenes too much that it becomes annoying.. one good example recently was in the onigashima where they keep showing momonosuke struggling to control his DF power.. its not annoying in the manga but since they keep on showing that part like yamato is struggling to cheer up momonosuke that a lot of anime-only one piece fans/viewers hated momonosuke after that.. Toei dragged that scene too much that they made a character unlikable.. I always bring up demon slayer season2 as one of the best example that i know a lot of anime fans saw where just a panel of paragraphs in the manga became an action sequence that showcased ufotable's ability to animate such anime.. another one is the whole season 4 is supposed to be the shortest arc in demon slayer and yet they pulled it off.. its not their best season since they stretched a few pages in manga into multiple episodes of anime but still, its impressive.. they didnt repeat anything... also, i forgot to mention that I'm so hyped with gear 5 and shared my hype to social media that it will be one of the most incredible transformation.. It didn't help that I'm keeping up with one piece updates such as this channel telling fans that they are preparing for that episode for atleast 6months.. and when it came out, i think ive aeen gear 5 luffy bouncing repeatedly like 5 times, intro of repeating the previous episode, and then another angle of luffy bouncing and repeat that 2-3 times.. one of the most annoying overhyped and most disappointing episode i ever watched...
I think cuz one piece is been for a long time The hype for it being good , it gets good at a point can affect viewing experience of someone new For me one piece was happy accident but it could easily be the above where i quit , the pacing was best till alabasta it fell off and even now it's bad I think the best experience is when you consume without any pressure , same for jojo
dragon ball dub goes incredibly hard, same with solo leveling and mashle cause my goat Aleks Le voices the mc. i'm gonna glaze him harder than ssyv glazes the rock fr
One Pace is alright. If they use it for personal viewing, accompaniment for manga, per-arc or per-saga review, it's ok.... but it's not ideal for episodic reaction videos... If they do do reaction videos using that then they better title it 'One PACE Reaction' not 'One Piece Anime Reaction'.
lufffy clears every character in one piece and mc in fiction😂 if u dislike luffy it makes sense why you'll have a had time watching one piece just like any other mc and their animes😂
Started watching one piece after my bro showed me the wano arc luffy just walking by big mom and kaido like they nothing after he explained everything about them. In a year was up to date and now up to date with manga. Yes the beginning was kinda slow and boring but around the arlong arc it was getting good and from that story is good. One thing about one piece is what u think is a filler it’s not.
Idc how long the series is im always gonna recommend it to someone. They asked for entertainment bc they are bored so I suggested entertainment. Ur bored anyways so u may as well watch it. The whole purpose for watching a show is bc u need entertainment so I don’t see why ep numbers should scare you.
Primarily it’s if someone has a busy schedule and they just want something quick. That’s why I don’t generally recommend OP, like maybe they have a week off of work and want a conclusive story for example. If they have the time and want a long commitment then I will recommend it! But if they just got a free weekend then probably not. Everyone has different situations and I can see how a long series isn’t for everyone!
Im manga reader, i only watch onepiece anime from ep1 to marineford other than that i just watch some ep i like. I wouldnt even put onepiece anime in top 20 lol

I legit quit the op anime in dress rosa it was legit unwatchable, from there i just read the manga, and watch the important episodes with a good directing team behind it, but I've retured to the anime since the later stages of wano
The anime hiatus is Toei's way of killing One Pace as it takes away revenue from them and the Remake is Netflix's way of cashing in on One Piece so in a few years One Pace will be useless
A lot of people (before meeting me) usually call me Siv because that's how you'd normally pronounce it based on how it's spelt so I don't mind it haha. Outside of that,, Grandlinereview is a great guy and I don't mind that he shouted me out! I tweeted him and said that it was super cool that he did that. Besides that, idk how I'd really react to the situation. If I were to make a video about GLR shouting me out it'd probably be just 30 seconds of me saying thanks and how awesome it was,, so I abstained from doing it since most people can generally predict my reaction! Whereas this situation is something I can actually comment on! I've been a fan of Charlie for a long long long time and respect his opinions on a lot of things. He had a lot of interesting takes as well that I think I could comment on as a fan of OP and not to mention but there was a small bit of controversy surrounding One Pace too.
@@Ringoroadagain6 yet bad pacing is all u can say about one piece while we have multiple paragraphs about how bad one pace is. Move on
@kantbesober all what you yap about is the awkward cuts in some moments.
@ that could be also said the same about naruto anime infamous staring contest for "dozens of hours" that doing nothing
I didn’t realize people really have negative opinions of one pace it (imo) only gets rid of the all the things that makes one piece hard to watch at certain points
It gets rid of good anime moments too
they fix a lot of the pacing issues but also cut out many great moments like the extended fight between oden vs whitebeard got cut in half
@@kurumi5516facts I feel like those legendary fights are what get me excited 😂😂 I still wanna see god valley get a mini arc or canon film

@Ambander-p3xit's still an issue that shouldn't be ignored though, if the scene improves or enhances the content then it should not be taken out.
i am a diehard one piece fan for 15 years now and i have NEVER recommended the anime for anyone
Bro hated one piece for hundreds of episodes and hated luffy til almost timeskip, now he jumped to one pace? He's garbage.
I agree. I feel like the people who like to talk crap about One Pace never truly watched it.
U can enjoy whatever u want, but one piece is obj3ctlvIey better. Toei’s 2 flaws of pacing and filler vs the vast amount of flaws one pace has
@@Joyoboyogomu better than ppl who talk about the Toei’s one piece yet only watched one pace. Or ppl who try to talk about one piece yet have never watched or read it and have only seen one pace. Anyway I’ve seen both
@@kantbesober don't say 'objectively'. U sound so egotistical , one pace is manga accurate. Keep crying 😂😂😂
he did say he used to not like Luffy bc he was nerfed due to xyz. But he said since the time skip it’s not like that at all
I don’t follow influencers really, I just like One Piece videos, but it is always good to see anyone preaching the gospel so I’m for it.
One pace is GARBAGE
The narrative that dbz stand & charge up for 5 minutes is mad wrong a lot of people say that but they can never specify which specific fight does that (not saying you do that Syv) 😂
Great video ⚡️
Skypiea is what got me hooked lol.
I'm praying this is a joke
First 150 episodes have bad animation bur it was amazing. The humor has never been repeated. Character building for characters like zoro was amazing.
kittyo is completely camouflaged. amazing.
Good? One Pace is just objectively better and is the actual canon experience.
Nah it's trash and poorly edited because it wasn't made like that, wrong ep counts and all that
@@jurtmcgurt6969Sounds like you just don’t understand it.
I loved skypiea, only ever noticed pacing problems till after the time skip
Charlie becoming One Piece fan is unreal. That guy now has a bunch of One Piece TCG boxes, framed wall poster and strawhat logo. I don't like that guy for talking trash all the time about a bunch of other things and people. His game reviews are way better.
so, did they cut the whole ace part in alabasta cause thats what happened in the manga
I would actually say whole cake and thriller bark is my least favorite main arcs. Not counting long ring long land
Whole cake???????
Sanjis arc@@dillonlewis146
Whole cake is peak
I despise musicals with a passion so Whole Cake was a rough one for me I can agree when people say they didn't like it, but I will say Katakuri vs Luffy was peak and the whole Sanji drama was cool as an emotional aspect.
@LvLocks1915 ya i hate musicals too. Whole cake was so linge ago i can't remember maybe i skipped the musical part lol
We will love to hear his thoughts on egghead and current manga shamrock, elbaf and everything 😂
Why watch one pace when youtube shorts are right there? Man it was so sick when Zolo killed Kai D Oh and Big Mama!
I think the best way to consume One Piece is still the manga. Even if we forget about pacing, the reason why you should read One Piece and not watch is the fact of censorship. So many things were cut out from anime which made the original look more mature.
Syv this is cool and all but what about you cover the real news and talk about the goonerul
11:35 exactly my thoughts Syv
In Charlies video he said he likes Luffy more now for sure tho, since hes portrayed less dumb these days
It’s not easy lol but it’s worth it
13:33 EXACTLY !!
What is the breed of that cat? Im thinking of getting one, but I don't know which to get
I don’t get why people wouldn’t like the scabbards. Most of them I like good enough, none of them I hated. Like the one I cared least about was Ashura Doji, but I still liked him.
Funny enough,, I love Ashura Douji,, he was by far my favorite because he was the most realistic out of the bunch. The tragedy of waiting 20 years for the prophecy was shown perfectly with him and how jaded he became.

tbh, anime in general, i dont mind anime studio adding up things in each episode as long as it is good quality content...
How to access One Pace?
You can use the website
I think cuz one piece is been for a long time
The hype for it being good , it gets good at a point can affect viewing experience of someone new
For me one piece was happy accident but it could easily be the above where i quit , the pacing was best till alabasta it fell off and even now it's bad
I think the best experience is when you consume without any pressure , same for jojo
He said it was one of the best.
You should invite him to the channel tbh
dragon ball dub goes incredibly hard, same with solo leveling and mashle cause my goat Aleks Le voices the mc. i'm gonna glaze him harder than ssyv glazes the rock fr
One Pace is alright. If they use it for personal viewing, accompaniment for manga, per-arc or per-saga review, it's ok.... but it's not ideal for episodic reaction videos... If they do do reaction videos using that then they better title it 'One PACE Reaction' not 'One Piece Anime Reaction'.
is this one pace endorsement
true i wish Luffy had more dimension to him , i wish they did like a luffy introspect episode but OP isnt that kind of anime .
lufffy clears every character in one piece and mc in fiction😂 if u dislike luffy it makes sense why you'll have a had time watching one piece just like any other mc and their animes😂
I read most of it and I could swap to one pace and back to manga and lose no context or anything. Also skypiea is top 5 for me..

Egghead Pacing is 1 to 1 - cope
The anime hiatus is Toei's way of killing One Pace as it takes away revenue from them and the Remake is Netflix's way of cashing in on One Piece so in a few years One Pace will be useless
One Pace will become useless later once the remake comes out,, but tbf One Pace was never about making money since it’s completely free.

You react to this but you don’t react to GRANDLINEREVIEW shouting out your alt channel and calling you SIV (like the kitchen utensil ‘sieve’)
