Some of our top favorites so far have been Secrets Moxche, Secrets Cap Cana, Secrets Playa Mujeres, Excellence Oyster Bay, Excellence Playa Mujeres, and Secrets Wild Orchid.
We went in September, and the weather was great! They're both amazing resorts, and you can't go wrong with either of them. Akumal feels like a high end traditional Secrets resort, and Moxche feels more modern.
They are certainly different resorts, and both offer great experiences. With that said, we would say that the food and service is better at Akumal, but the beaches are better at Wild Orchid. The beach at Akumal is a public beach, so anyone ( and any age) can come in and set up for the day in front of the resort. Mexico is also an unfortunate victim to the seasonal seaweed, which is bad around April - Sept, but Jamaica seems to not have that issue.
My husband and I are going on Dec. 2 for our 25th Anniversary! Can't wait!! 🥰

I heard they have a night club in that hotel. Did you guys visit it? If so, what type of music did they play?
They do have a night club, but when we were there about 3 years ago, it wasn't open due to Mexico's pandemic restrictions.

Resort looks good but the seaweed put me off .
The resort is amazing! The seaweed can be bad, but it all depends on the time of year.
