I have been to Dubrovnik twice. I think you missed to talk about the noon feeding of pigeons in Dubrovnik which in my opinion is an unbelievable scene.
I have this odd habit of watching travel guides after I've visited somewhere and have now watched everything You Tube has to offer on Dubrovnik. I have to say, yours is by far the best, you mention things that are not the standard top ten, your fiming and narration are top notch and the three tips at the end are great advice. We've just come back and weirdly the Dubrovnic pass, which includes free entry to 8 locations and the walls is the same price as just the walls so make sure you don't miss out.
Yes we used that bridge! Definitely better than crossing the border though it’s a bit of a drive. You’re right that it’s not isolated in that way, but geographically it does look isolated from the rest of the country!
Hi, just came back home after a fantastic holiday in Dubrovnik, we stayed just outside the old town and taxis are readily available to take you wherever you want, Cavtat is a must to visit and relax, we had a great time and will revisit the area again , would highly recommended visiting Croatia 👍

Only downside ( If you want to call it Like that) could be possibly, the "beach" ... Usually there is No Sand. Personally, i took it as a hot Stone Massage for free, so enjoy your time there Brother. Definetely worth visiting this town again and again If you want to truly relax and recharge your batteries 😊🙏 Edit: i recommend the "foodtrucks", you won't get seafood any fresher. It delicious. Hello, your video is perfect, one if the most conveniant i saw. We just arrived at Dubrovnik for 3 days, and we will follow your advices. Thanks. Have a Good Day. 🤙
Good summary. You missed three day trips though: 1. Trebinje - nicer and closer than Mostar with great wineries and a cozy old town 2. Konavle valley - just south of the airport its a green oasis with lots of nice traditional restaurants 3. Herceg Novi - just over the border in Montenegro it’s built on a slope and offers wonderful views of the opening of the Bay of Kotor. It has three castles and is offers a less busy seaside experience compared to Dubrovnik.

May I ask how did you reach the old town hidden viewpoint you mention and show at 9:55? Where did you walk from to get there? Thanks,
We really liked Dubrovnik! The coordinates to the viewpoint can be found in our blog under 2. Take In Views From Fort Lovrijenac: www.worldwildhearts.com/post/dubrovnik-croatia We just mapped it on Google Maps and then walked up the stairs / roads to the viewpoint from the Old Town
Thanks for posting about Croatia. I was doing a little research on a why NCL include as a port stop and had no idea how beautiful this place is. Unfortunately I was basing this off of the movie "Behind Enemy Lines" before I came across your video.
Love this beautiful old town ! My maternal grandfather was born here. His birth certificate said "Austria," because it was during the time of the Austro-Hungarian Empire. He earned his way to America by stoking the boiler of the steamship with coal to power it. He came through Ellis Island, in the early 1900's, and after going through The Naturalization Process, settled in Buffalo, New York where my mother and her 3 siblings were born. He was born in 1886, and died in 1986. I loved him very much, and miss him. He called me "Ginny Love."

Get one in the Telenor shop in town. Or, you can get a mobile wifi hub with a card as well. That way you can call using Whatsapp or Facetime. Most cafes and restaurants will also offer free wifi (though it’s usually bad). If you are travelling on your own you should definately also visit the Konavle Valley just south of Dubrovnik and the aurport which has a lot of nice traditional restaurants. You should then go into Montenegro and see the Bay of Kotor which is absolutely stunning. Stay in the town of Herceg Novi and take a boat excursion from there to Kotor (rather than staying in Kotor). Very informative videos, planning out trip from Split to Dubrovnik, whart do you recommend for transportation, ferry, or bus? What did you use to travel to Dubrovnik?
We had a rental car for the majority of our trip in Croatia. However, you can't use a car in Dubrovnik itself so will need to park it somewhere and leave it for the days. It's also fairly easy to travel by bus between destinations in Croatia.
Dubrovnik was attacked twice by the Orthodox once in the early 19th century (Russians & Montenegrins) and again in the late 20th century (1991) by Serbs and Montenegrins. Both times they failed to breach the walls but were content to pillage and loot the surrounding countryside.

@CWong-gw4ry Nice that’s awesome! there was no queue for immigration for us. The bus took care of that part. It’s a good amount to get a taste of Mostar. It’s a small city so not too big to walk around. But of course it’s even better if you can spend 2 days there or so! It’s a great place :)

We stayed a bit outside the old town, but still walkable. It was way more affordable than most places and had everything we needed (even kitchen and utensils, outdoor terrace, and washing machine). You can find it in our blog post: www.worldwildhearts.com/post/dubrovnik-croatia
What is the company you used to travel to Mostar? Thanks
Select Dubrovnik d.o.o. seems to be the company! We booked it online in advance (you can find the link in the description)
What is the name. Of the song in the intro?
You can find all the names of the songs we used in the description below the video! They’re in order
Where is the Kotor video you said about in the video ?
It's coming out next month! We haven't been able to upload it yet... very busy!
@@worldwildhearts can't wait to see that
population of dubrovnik was always croatian...all popular writers declare themself as croatian
How many days do I need?
At least 3 days we think!
That one price of 30 to just walk in Dubrovnik screams tourist trap to me.
Did u go in end of Oct?
Yes we did!
@@worldwildhearts how’s the weather ? will be there 14-18 October was worried with the rain :)
Very hard to predict! We had the most beautiful weather… around 20-25C and sunny for the 2.5 weeks we were there. But our hosts also told us we were lucky as it can be more rainy… every year is different
@@worldwildhearts thanks for sharing I will take the risk
Schengen works for Bosnia ?
No it’s not part of the Schengen zone. When we visited, neither was Croatia. Only since last January they joined the Schengen area
How much is for cable car? Please?
I think it's 15€ one-way or 27€ round-trip (for adult)
@@worldwildhearts Thank you.
Great but overexpensive city
How is it so calm when you went there lol?😅
It was the end of October! It was very very calm and we had the best time 😍
Well, fun fact (that Croatia not mentions to tourists) is: - Dubrovnik was never part of Croatia until ww2 😁
Yes it was a small free state for so long! They explain all of that during the free walking tour ☺️
@@zelimir1002 population of dubrovnik was always croatian...all popular writers declare themself as croatian
@@zelimir1002 population of dubrovnik was always croatian. and the language was croatian language what writers like ivan gundulic or rudjer boskovic proof, also the documents of arab traveller al-idrissi in the 12. cenutry who describe dubrovnik people as croatian
STOKAVICA is croatian, serbian language didnt even exist back then, serbs poke TORLAKIAN (bulgarian) until 1851
also dubrovnik has european architecture and was always european while all of serbia and montenegro has clear middle eastern architecture and culture since serbs are more related to middle eastern then to europeans, unlike croats who are clear europeans.
@@kingovic15 Dubrovnik writers never wrote about any Croatian history subject. But always about Serbian. Why is that?
@@kingovic15 as for Dubrovnik writers like Rudjer Boskovic, Ivan Gudnulic etx...they were not Croats. They were of Serbian parental origin, but they considered themselves to be "Dubrovnicani".
And they refered to Croats as foreigners in Dubrovnik in their novels. And main focus of their literal work were events from Serbian epic traditions....i.s. Kosovo battle, killing of turkish sultan, serbian medieval knights and heroes etc.

Sorry I had too 😂
🤣🤣
Dubrovnik follows Venice as another victim of cruise ships and mass tourism.
Visiting during shoulder season helps!
