difference in total weight = 1-1=0 grams so there is no weight loss in gold
difference in total price = 7100 - 4000= 3000 RS loss
interest gain in 8 years 2.5%x8= 175x8= 1400 profit

He is absolutely correct, sovereign bonds are paper buy, lot of unknown calculations might loose money. Physical gold is loss but liquidity is more and I am enjoying gold all the way. And also in traditional events physical gold gives lot of luxary and resembles u r Financials status. More over for marriages sgb makes no sense as u can't use it at all.
Pros and cons are there here but he is correct for 200% no doubt on that.
