Wow thanks you so much. When I first started guitar playing I was so happy to learn rhythm strumming. Later I learned plug in and some finger picking I was happy. Later I learned some riffs and some strumming technics and I was very happy. At last I heard a fingerstyle play and it left me hopeless. I wa shocked. Tried to learn but never ever was able to do so coz it is so hard and now this one tutorial helped me a lot thnak u sir
thank you for this lesson, this topic is a cryptic one for me for sure! Can you please give some advice upon my issue with inability to hear and keep track of all parts together as a unity - I only can concentrate on one thing at a time, so for me melody and harmony are separate, and i can't think about both at once and i can't play it (it is even more difficult on piano), what is the best way to try and figure out how to start tackling this problem?
@@TomasMichaud yes, sorry for not so clear explanation, what i mean is - for me it is a hard and even painful work to listen to a full orchestra, unless i concentrate on one section or even an instrument, and even in simple piece of music we (in general, of course) have for example melody (let's put it in terms of piano - in right hand) and supporting chords (in left hand), for me they are two different entities, i can't process it as a whole, i can listen to one part or another, as a result i can't play it (and there is a virtual or real click track, oh, the torture of rhythm!). With guitar it is much easier - i don't have an issue of "two hands doing two different things" at all, and motion of strumming hand is actually doing rhythm counting automatically, but nether the less, i can't communicate my ideas or even write it down (in proper musical notations, not in "barbaric scratches" of chord slashes), because every time i try to decode something into music notation and back into real music, that structure, integrity is broken, and i can't put it back again. So i really have some issues with proper listening technique, or understanding of that mechanics of musical language, or both). I am quite exited by arrangement as a magical process of getting that unified, whole, beautiful piece, but it seems that my basic knowledge of "get your scale, choose the notes, add some chords" isn't enough, or i just missing some theoretical keystone here)
I'm new to fingerstyle, so I tried to arrange the song by ear. And I used key of g, but i couldn't finish the song because of the higher octave in my melody part so I couldn't combine the bass part. Can you help me?perhaps a tablature in key of g. Thanks a lot
Thanks for your tutorial. But I got a problem when I try to play my own arrangement. It's kinda hard for me to play the bass note which doesn't have the same beat as the melody. And also, I got a trouble when I have to play the bass note on the different string (for example I play the E and A string in G chord one by one, "up down up down" pattern) and the melody at the same time without getting distracted by the beat of the bass note or vice versa, the beat of the melody. Do you have any advise?
I'll say learn different fingerstyle covers of youtubers, once you reach a stage that you can master an intermediate level of song in less than a week than start arranging your song Ps - at least learn covers of youtubers for 8 months
The only tutorial made me really understand how to arrange fingerstyle. Well done!
This lesson is a great help to those trying to play fingerstyle, thanks Tomas
My pleasure David!

I'm not 100% sure I understand Asta. Could you explain more?

listen the song carefully

How about major notes? On like fret 5 and up
How the crack does this video have only 14K views? It deserves to be seen by every guitarist thinking to make their own fingerstyle arrangements.
Thanks! I appreciate that :)
I find this very disjointed. Why not do a complete playthrough, then start to break it down.
You teach us with your honestly.. Great.. It easy to understand now
