SWIMMING IN THE BLUE EYE OF THE EARTH (Cetina River Spring, Croatia)

- Today begins the long trek back south to Dubrovnik to catch a flight to our next country! But we have some pretty epic stops along the way, like the blue Eye of the Earth! The Cetina River Spring is a beautiful, fresh water spring here in Croatia that is the source of one of Croatia's largest rivers! The water is also freezing cold! Should we swim? They call it the eye of the earth because it literally looks like a massive eye from above. Pretty amazing.

I am from Croatia and this is a spring of fresh water and it is not for swimming because it is drinking water and swimming in it is not alowed.
They don't care! They are entitled westerners.

@@patrikbionda3786 Nije dopušteno!!! Nedavno je gradonačelnik išao tamo i rastjerivao ljude, postavio novu ploču zabranjeno kupanje.. Ovi stranci su zaista strvinari

@@patrikbionda3786 pa naravno da je zabranjeno i zakonom!! To je izvor pitke vode za Sinj, i sva mjesta, dolje u Dalmaciji. Lik se kupa na samom izviru pitke vode. Gdje je to i u kojoj državi na svijetu dozvoljeno???
That water is for drinking, not for swimming...I think it will be forbidden for swimmers, it's already getting polluted

I’ve had friends that visited the spring. They told me the water was for drinking, not swimming and that signs were posted about this. Surprised you ignored them-even if it is not officially outlawed to swim there, it isn’t ethical to do so. Disappointed.
I googled information about that, and even google says the signs have been taken down. How is one to know if nothing is posted? Not disappointed.
@@michelleblock7752 well there is no signs+the law doesn't forbid to swim there but I think it is common sense not to swim in a source of water that is used for drinking, just think about how you would feel if somebody swam in water YOU drink!
I was there 5 days ago. There are signs that very clearly say "No swimming", both up at the viewpoint and also down by the spring. Yet, there was a tourist who did it, and she basically said, "Yes, I know the rules, but I just have to do this." Talk about being entitled and disrespectful.
I'm glad you were enjoying your trip but please don't swim in spring of Cetina and don't encourage anyone to do it. That spring is used for drinking water for half of Dalmatia. There should be signs everywhere.
Swimming is not allowed there because it is drinking water. You better put your video down so you don't encourage people to go and swim there.

Please do not swim in this beautiful natural spring water, it will be ruined if people start to swim in it and start dumping rubbish in this area. It needs to be preserved for future generations...

@@courtascot Well, this spot has been a hidden gem for so long.... nobody thought it would come so far... but, it really is an unbelieveable water source, and we all understand what that means nowadays... lucky are those who can swim there for now, because it might be forbidden in future..
But, the news have been brought on national TV, and something has to be done to prevent swimming there :)
There are also signs around saying: "Please, do not swim, drinking water." I believe every person is literate enough as he/she wants to be...

The walls once stretched for as long as 7km and they were built in the 14th and 15th centuries as an additional defence for the Republic of Ragusa (Dubrovnik).
I believe there is sign thats forbiden to swim in there same as Plitvice .

Hello, as a Croatian im just going to tell you to please NOT swim in the source, as tge water from the source is used for drinking in a major part of Dalmatia!
That´s fine as long as you don´t take a bath here. This source gives drinking water for southern part of Croatia. This video is just so sad.....What for a lack of respect for our country and its inhabitants....
