I was gobsmacked when that fellow had two handknotted rugs he wanted to toss! Both carpets are gorgeous! Glad Sarah didn’t chop them up, but wondering why she didn’t keep the other one? Ray, you are a genuine artist! The monkey sketches are brilliant and ought to be framed for sale! Incredible fabric made from them! The chair is a work of art!
I would have taken both and found a proper taker later. All that skilled artistry for the dump…nope. A Mongolian friend wanted to toss her slightly beat up Mongolian 8x10 carpet. I don’t need another hand knotted carpet, but took it to save it. Decided later I’ll use it in my walk out basement once it’s tiled.
I love guys like Ray. He’s so excited by what he does. His smile when he thinks about chairs says it all. I wish I felt passionately like that about something. I continue on my search! I hope he finds young adults to share/teach his passion to. I wish more was saved from the tips! I think we’d all be better off!
Well done, all! Auction house was definitely the way to go for the Persian. That chair is one of the most marvelous re-dos I've ever seen and the brown wood to gray painted cabinet was an inspiration.
I cannot believe that the monkeys chairs have not yet sold - could an update please be posted once the chair does sell - surely a Father's day gift for a study?
The monkey chair is a piece of art for a special buyer but the black chair was absolutely gorgeous and most likely would of sold for just as much with no changes made.
I would watch any show to see Norman's transformations and this episode did not disappoint also, the chair was wonderful and I am certain Sara won't have had to wait too long to sell it on........
That chair is absolutely fabulous! Oh my !!!! Sad that I live in Canada I will go to see him with 2 chairs of mine. It's beautiful! A creation piece with this fabric. A very talentuous men. Bravo! 🎉
“…she doesn’t want to ‘pry-mate.’ Well done cuz.! Your witty puns continue to delight me. Arthur Smith is an outstanding narrator for this series! I may be biased because my surname also Smith, makes me a very very distant cousin. Nevertheless, Mr. Smith’s quips make me chuckle every episode!
How on earth can people just chuck goods that they do not want anymore into a skip to shatter it into pieces? It breaks my heart! Why can't they put it on the side walk where people can take it FOR FREE? That's what is done in New Zealand. At least poor people can find stuff they need!
This show is so great! I watched on one of DIRECTV channels. It should be aired again because many many people do this same thing for profit and for themselves!!!!❤
Awe😢 the chair turned out looking beautifully ray. ❤❤❤ it brings me back when i used to watch my dad reupholster furniture while i sat on the stairs. He would be soo proud of your work. 😂❤ well done young man
Yay, hiya Jonathan! And what a remarkable outcome from that inspired decision Sarah.---Jay needs to get a look at Ray's chair. I did worry that he was a bit too over-inspired for that one. A shame the second one got pushed aside.---Way-to-go Norman (watch those touchy-feely hands).
So happy to see things Re incarnated and kept out of landfills. Tiny house movement can use almost everything left from construction and remodeling jobs.
What a shame to paint over that vintage mahogany! That’s the quality of wood that is very hard to come by today. Cutting down the size is understandable, but the poor distressed paint job is a pity.
That orange chair has hinges on the right arm rest....it has I believe a secret compartment... hopefully as I watch the rest of the video it will be revealed 😂. Each piece she chose has so much potential, can't wait to see the final product.
I watched faithfully Carol and learned so much. I watched several craft shows sewing and other home shows. I stopped watching HGTV when it went to all house which I like sometimes but not all day. Miss those days of learning new crafts ways of doing things ideas and fun personalities who love what they do. I looked to subscribe but didn’t see anymore of her episodes so I decided not to.But thank you for showing this one.
Where I used to live, (Wellesley, MA) there was a giant flea market IN THE DUMP manned by volunteers who took stuff that could be reused. This wasn’t a real flea market bc everything was FREE. I used to go there every time I went and found all kinds of treasures. It was under a big tent. Every town dump should have this.
My family owns a high end furniture store here in the US and I would LOVE to sell that monkey chair, it’s absolutely gorgeous and so unique! I would actually take it home too👏
This is the first time I've watched this. The chair is stunning the wardrobe transformatio is genius and kudos to Sarsh for recognizing the potential of yhe carpet. My question is, what does she get out of it besides the show?
I enjoy this show so much. I love Norman's work, but disappointed he painted solid mahogany. I would have showcased the beautiful mahogany with a combo of added painted additions...top, bottom, etc. Also it would be nice to see unsold items at a later date when sold...special episodes. As an American I get a kick out of the British idioms. I lived in Canada after marring my wife for several years and then moved to Papua New Guinea for a time. Also traveled England and Europe
First time seeing this show. Why does the money go back to the original owners who were trashing the items? I gather it’s a lesson learned for people to think twice before trashing things.
People think nothing of chucking perfectly useable stuff. It used to be that there were charities that hired down-on-their-luck folks to clean and repair things for re-sale. Sad how our culture has changed. 😢
Now, every single so called interior designer who has a hobby of decorating their homes while being a SAHM, are having their upholstered furniture custom-made with expensive fabric that will change the original antique furniture pieces that they are gifted for their inheritance.
The monkey chair sold a day after the show aired. No information on the price, not a huge profit. Rays chairs are absolutely stunning, and any high end decorator would pay a fortune for them.
I have never seen these programs before. But I do not understand how she makes a living out of this? She gives the ones tipping the items, all the profit. Remarkable. But I do not get it. It seemed to me she has her own business (when unrolling the rug) Good, anyway. I am so pleased to see all things being saved and updone😊👏👏👏❤️
If people can drive to the dumb, why not rather take stuff to a thrift store. There are millions that cant afford new things. Wasting makes me feel sick.
Did anyone else find it odd that the auction house didn’t vacuum the rug? I can’t see myself buying a rug that not only had deliberate cuts in it, it also looked like it was very stretched and its dirty! Paying that much for a dirty old rug that I then have to go home and clean, no thanks Persian or not!
Ray’s excitement and joy are a delight to watch! He clearly loves his craft and is so proud to see his creative vision come to life.
Me too. It could have been repaired
I'm a designer and would have snatched that chair up in a second! Gorgeous!
Nah, this is reality tv. These pieces were scouted beforehand.
It broke my heart to see the other rug go in the trash.
The monkeys are beautiful. What a way to show off your talents. Creating your own fabric makes your chair one of a kind.
Ray is a brilliant artist. He feels it. It’s so good to watch. Beautiful chair.
Norman is always generous with his talent. He never overcharges and he always comes through. Ray is adorable and so talented!
And, Sarah is an amazing lady. 😊😊😊
I would love to see a show highlighting all the items that weren’t sold on the shows timeline, especially this monkey chair. It’s gorgeous.
I ADORE the chair and would love it in my home🖤❤️🤎💛🧡
The monkey chair and the rug...GORGEOUS!
Monkey chair is a work of art! Well done!!!
I love guys like Ray. He’s so excited by what he does. His smile when he thinks about chairs says it all. I wish I felt passionately like that about something. I continue on my search! Well done, all! Auction house was definitely the way to go for the Persian. That chair is one of the most marvelous re-dos I've ever seen and the brown wood to gray painted cabinet was an inspiration.
The wardrobe is stunning. I didn't expect that's transformation.
I cannot believe that the monkeys chairs have not yet sold - could an update please be posted once the chair does sell - surely a Father's day gift for a study?
RAY YOUR FABRIC AND THE CHAIR ARE BEYOND AMAZING
Norman has such a talent. I love that! The monkeys were gorgeous - a work of art!
The monkey chair is a piece of art for a special buyer but the black chair was absolutely gorgeous and most likely would of sold for just as much with no changes made.
Norman is so talented and does so much work , I feel he undercharges. The chair is so cool. An art piece !
I LOVE Rays work! The chair and the fabric are fabulous!!!!!!!!!
What a lovely man Ray is! And that chair is a work of art. So beautiful!
I love the monkey chair, it's amazing and I love Ray's excitement and enthusiasm. 😊❤️
That chair is gorgeous.
That chair 💕💕💕💕💕💌👋💖🤚💗
I would watch any show to see Norman's transformations and this episode did not disappoint also, the chair was wonderful and I am certain Sara won't have had to wait too long to sell it on........
Norman also had a good bit of mahogany left over for future projects. Love that the profit is going to plant more trees. 😊❤
Ugh.
Wonder if he can do something with the huge mirror?
That chair is absolutely fabulous! Oh my !!!! Sad that I live in Canada I will go to see him with 2 chairs of mine. It's beautiful! A creation piece with this fabric. A very talentuous men. Bravo! 🎉
I have missed this series. Glad to find you again. I love repurposing things to something useful and loved again. Linda Beals.

The chair came out stunning Fantastic work. 💯%👍👏
Wow. The monkey chair is absolutely delightful!
Wow, these people are my kind of geniuses! Those of us who can't, but wish we could, watch.
❤❤❤ The chair ❤❤❤
That chair is gorgeous. I would expect it to fit $2000.00 plus.
Oh would love the monkey chair it is fabulous!
Amaizing show, amazing people, British culture has so much to offer! love from eastern europe
The chair is gorgeous ❤

Exactly, or take it to op shop. Waste
That is what’s done in America, too (at least, in cities)…just can’t believe this!
All I have to say is God bless for returning the monies to the people who trashed it
I love the monkey chair. I would snap it up in a minute if I was on that side of the pond.
Good Show, Loved the Chair, but Pricey.
Ray needs to put his signature on his work. He’s going to to be famous one day! That chair is gorgeous!
I ❤ this show.
Delighted to find this show again!! 👏🏽
This show is so great! I watched on one of DIRECTV channels. It should be aired again because many many people do this same thing for profit and for themselves!!!!❤
Absolutely gorgeous chair. I’m so impressed❤
Ray s chair is awesome!!! Cool so cool

I love the chair.
I loved the black chair as it was. Great jobs all round.
Bravo ,ono što netko ne želi drugi treba ,lijepo❤
Can't believe that rug was going in the trash
Love the Wing Chair. Amazing design. Love the monkeys.
So happy to see things Re incarnated and kept out of landfills. Tiny house movement can use almost everything left from construction and remodeling jobs.
In America we put stuff out on the Sidewalk with a Free Sign if we don't take it to the Thrift Store or Sell it on Craigslist...Just Saying!!! 😮
What a shame to paint over that vintage mahogany! That’s the quality of wood that is very hard to come by today. Cutting down the size is understandable, but the poor distressed paint job is a pity.
I ❤ the rug! Amazingly, my mother has one exactly like it she bought in Turkey. It was handwoven and looks exquisite in her dining room.

That chair was awesome!
The black chair was perfect as is.
The refurb lifted it to a new life.
@@garry9569 A new life and a $950 loss…
@@Unclerad7777That chair will sell, no worries.
@@teresayeates3437does this show do follow up episodes? I would love to know what became of the chair.
This show really makes me want to visit England again so much!
Why so much good stuff smashed .glad some pieces get saved but am sure more could be
I cant understand why so much obviously valuable stuff gets thrown out .😮
I absolutely love this show and Saved and Remade
That monkey chair gives me life!!!!!
All those.
Items are beautiful. Those are really talented tradesmen.
luv Ray's container building!
Love the chair.
The monkey chair is not just a chair, it is a piece of art. Absolutely love it!
OMGoodness, what a beautiful lady, with her hard work and generosity

❤ luv this UK show!
Wait - nobody bought the chair???? It's a work of art and I would LOVE to have it! What an artist!
I’d buy both the monkey chair and the mahogany cupboard at the asking price without any hesitation.
My family owns a high end furniture store here in the US and I would LOVE to sell that monkey chair, it’s absolutely gorgeous and so unique! I would actually take it home too👏
Those chairs are beautiful like they are and in good condition.
This is the first time I've watched this. The chair is stunning the wardrobe transformatio is genius and kudos to Sarsh for recognizing the potential of yhe carpet.
My question is, what does she get out of it besides the show?
Do they not have charity or thrift stores in UK. So many struggling, so much waste.
I enjoy this show so much. I love Norman's work, but disappointed he painted solid mahogany. I would have showcased the beautiful mahogany with a combo of added painted additions...top, bottom, etc.

Makes you wonder if the other rug was worth something too..?🤔
Painting solid mahogany????
C'est beau mais aussi triste de cacher de l'acajou par de la couleur
Do they have a Freecycle group there? If I visit I'm going to try and visit this place. In my mind the rugs were ottomans.
Hello, don't be tired. Are the carpets handwoven in Iran?
The monkey chair sold a day after the show aired. No information on the price, not a huge profit. Rays chairs are absolutely stunning, and any high end decorator would pay a fortune for them.
We are a throw away society. It’s nice to see people that see the value of other peoples junk.
Anyone else sad about the other rug? They were both beautiful.
I have never seen these programs before. But I do not understand how she makes a living out of this? She gives the ones tipping the items, all the profit. Remarkable. But I do not get it. It seemed to me she has her own business (when unrolling the rug)
Good, anyway. I am so pleased to see all things being saved and updone😊👏👏👏❤️
wow the monkeys chair i want
❤❤❤❤
Noman dose great work but i loved the original color
I loved the monkey chair but wardrobe is not ok. The color doesnt go well with the accessories.
Norman is handsome!
Ray is a master upholsterer, but that chair won't bring 1,000 pounds. I hope I'm wrong.
Wish. Orman had painted the locker a nicer color.
I'd like to have seen it in the walnut and what the rest can be turned into.
😍💗

I just can't fathom anyone painting vintage, irreplaceable mahogany. Gray, at that.
That's kind of sickening, to be honest.
