Thanks for another great video, Chris! I’d love to make my way out west some time to put the knowledge in these state specific videos to use. I really love this state specific video format, and ever since you posted the first one, I’ve thought about how great it would be to have one like this for over here in Georgia! And I’ve talked with a few buddies that are also fans of yours that feel the same - Any chance at some East Coast state breakdowns?? 🤞
The problem is that I live in Nevada. I've been to the states I have made videos on and prospected there. I'll think about possibly doing videos on places that I have never prospected.
Nice timing and great information I’ll be leaving Minnesota for the winter soon and heading in the direction of New Mexico You gave me a lot of homework to do Thank you so much
I always knew there's placer gold in NM, but never thought it was much value. You've opened my eyes to the prospects. 👍 Might possibilities for a Gold Rattler. 😅 Thanks for sharing, Chris ! 🤠⛏️⚒️👍
always enjoy your videos,I watch gold rush all the time. I noticed Tony Beets reworking old timer tailings, was very productive. Would it be if free gold came out the the area rock formations would there be gold trapped in the tailings rock also that could be processed by crushing and refining?
Turquoise? Good luck with that unless you know someone who owns a mine! The best quality stuff was found on top of the ground and just under the surface. Thats all gone and so the deeper you go the quality declines to the point now everything thats mined has to be stabilized which forces epoxy into the rock under high pressure turning it blue! Before stabilization its basically like chalk! Very soft and def not jewelry quality! If you are looking for rough turq nuggets thats jewelry quality its going to be expensive! Its considered semi precious and theres a finite supply! Im not any sort of expert so i gotta say that! I do have some unstabilized turq I traded for a while back that I would make someone a hell of a deal on! Im not a jewelry maker and really have no use for it! Its real turquoise though and you can have it checked! Let me know if interested.
Hey Chris got a question for you! My husband has been watching your channel for a couple yrs and you are very educated in the precious metals, will my question is how to tell when you have the sticky pink in geodes? We are in southern Indiana and would love to chat and pick your brain.
I have not the slightest clue as to what you mean by "the sticky pink in geodes". To me, sticky means like glue. I don't know of any geodes with pink glue in them.
Chris ! Love your videos i have been waiting for this one. One of the other videos about new mexico said you were going to do an fly over video or something, did i miss that video or it didnt get done? Also some of our words out here are tough to pronounce, just to help you. Jicarilla = Hick A Ree A 😊 Caballo = Ca Bye Yo 😊 I have an obsession with gold in NM, still in the research phase of learing my rock formations, where to go that wouldnt be too far, (albuquerque/rio rancho) , whats accessible on blm, and higher probability of finding some color out there. I feel like prospecting is probably like golf, it really is nice being out there in nature trying to do something you suck at, but then you sink that put or put a ball a few feet from the pin, and from there your hooked. Im guessing it only takes one pan out of many to change ones attitude of how fun it could be. You mentioned epithermal deposits are you refering to the Cochiti area to the west of jemez or where else are epithermal zones ? God bless Chris F.
There are multiple areas of epithermal deposits in New Mexico. Down load some of the reference materials I recommended in the video and read them to get more info and do that research needed to find gold.
@@ChrisRalphya well at least work on your pronunciation! And you wrote a book?
Chris, been eyeing NM for some time. It's about a 10 hour drive from here. Just got back from an exploratory trip, a dry run you might say. I've picked out a few areas that need further research but I hope this fall and winter to do some closer examination of those spots. I saw alot of interesting areas while I was there, am pretty anxious to explore them further. Let you know what I find, should prove interesting.
Hi James - I get quite a few people every day who want me to ID their rock and mineral photos. I do not offer a mineral ID service, mostly because it’s not as easy as you think. Usually, minerals cannot be identified from just a picture. Please watch my videos on how to Identify minerals for yourself. Part 1 can be found here: ruclips.net/video/MpkW58ZeQlc/видео.html and Part 2 can be found here: ruclips.net/video/zOWo49X90gA/видео.html and Part 3 can be found here: ruclips.net/video/_ab5NngRlVw/видео.html - Those videos should answer a lot of your questions.
There are not any known gold districts there in the Jemez mts. Its much better drive a little ways to look in mountains where there are known gold areas, including the Sangre De Christos and the Tusas.
@@ChrisRalph the greyback arroyo near hillsboro you can throw a rock dig where it lands and find gold may not be the best gold but for people that are starting out and want to learn its where I take and recommend for people.
You know I wouldn't mind seeing how the Spanish crushed, smelted and made there bar's. If you can find the time. And still looking forward to the Gold Bug video
They used horses and mules to drive their crushers, I think very few of my audience has the animal power. The rest was very similar to what I have done in past videos.
@@ChrisRalph I found a 20 acre spot just over the az border in cibola county. I would think there is some but the good districts look all in the center. I’m still going to go for it as it’s not intended to mine but is always a plus. It’s property with caves etc. I just looked at a few claims near Sedona az. Just for recreational. It’s a gold and gem claim. Also one in Montana. The Montana claim is pretty decent but off limits in the winter.
Great vid hope to get out there and try my hand at some prospecting though you did mispronounce the Apache tribal name Jicarilla it is a Spanish word Js are turned into a H so phonetically it would be hic ah re ah but thats ok by me.

Its not nearly as useful when it remains unread.

How common or significant is copper-nickel ore unoxidized found on surface. ?
Depends on how much you have. If only a little its not significant. If huge, then yes, its significant.
