Not a writer per se, not even a native English speaker. I'm only a songwriter, I love typewriters and that's what brought me here at first. Subscribed since, anyways... My favorite hero is Taxi Driver's Travis Bickle. The poor dude just wanted some cleaner streets to start with, but the most relatable part for me is his mental instability and his loneliness. That's what drew me into the movie. Even shaved my head to look like him, just for fun. I love what you do. Thank you for the insights and the typewriter tips.

Have you read Maria Tatar's 'The Heroine With 1.001 Faces'? Well worth a look - it transformed how I wrote the female protagonist of my second novel.

I like the film Big Trouble in Little China because the protagonist thinks he's the hero but its actually his sidekick who's the real hero.
Not true. Victor Wong is the hero of that movie. And every movie he was in. Hands down. I love Victor Wong.
