    These "what I Eat in a Day" is so helpful to me. I have stopped and started fasting a couple of times with no success. I just stare at the fridge and not knowing what to eat and I just give up. I am one of those people than do better with a consistent plan, so I really need this type of video. I only eat fish, and mostly plant based. Thank you for including those options! Can we get some recipes? 😁😁

    Thank you Sandy. I started IF Aug.1 last year. Today I got into next lower decade. 139🎉. -23#s. I'm 73 and could lose for years while doing all the right things. 18/6 -20/4 is my fasting range. 🎉 It works!!

    Thank you, Sandy, for the great ideas! I slow cook a batch of stew meat with s&p, onion powder, garlic cloves and Worcestershire sauce. I use the stew meat thru the week as a top for steak salad, or a few bites for just a quick protein boost, and also on top of riced cauliflower and quinoa with sweet potato. I'm trying to do IF and eat lower carb foods but, like you, sometimes that popcorn is just such a treat!!! I think my appetite is shrinking from the fasting. 😁

    Thank you Sandy! I'm following Dr Mindy Pelz "Fast Like a Girl" protocol (new book) and the program naturally cycles in and out of carb and no carb days and even no fasting a week before your cycle! That is the time she says to "feast" and eat more carbs because your body needs more them to "hormone build." She calls it the "nurture phase." It varies the fasts a little too; some days are 15 hours, and some are 17. I am losing weight fast now. I lost 9 lbs so far in 2 months! I'm also walking 30-60 mins a day/ doing yoga. I'm still not sleeping great but working on it. I think fasting makes me wake up too early with the sun. Keep putting out your wonderful videos. They are great!

    Literally, IMO you have turned back time about ten years. You look great!
    I don't adhere to a particular diet, but I eat well, love fruits, nuts, veggies, beans, rice, pasta and proteins.
    I do believe in
    IF, and I thought your variety was yummy and nutritious.
    I was wondering if you prepare TOFU? Decades ago, when it wasn't really popular, I tried and quickly abandoned it. Mistake!
    I just recently started eating it again, now following correct preparation (purge the extreme water content) to maximize good results; using easy
    marinades or dips, and pan or oven baking. I love it. It can be made to be very tasty and crispy.

    ?? Some questions --> But first I just want to thank you Sandy for this video! 🙏
    My questions are:
    1.) What foods are important to break the fast with, is it mainly protein?
    2.) You mean we can eat more than one meal in that 8-hr range?
    3.) Is it better to eat only two meals in the 8-hr range or doesn't it matter?
    4.) If lets say I have my last meal at 8 pm, then I could have a tea/black coffee at 10 pm or/and before my lunch (for example at 12 am) right? Or can I have a coffee and milk at ie 9 am?
    I started IF about 3 weeks ago but I am still uncertain about several things.
    Thank you for all that you share, it is helpful for me.
    God bless you!
    Luisa

    • @sandysteinbrook
      @sandysteinbrook  Год назад

      Hello!
      Just make sure you have protein in the first meal. It doesn’t need to be just protein, it make sure you have protein with that first meal. With all meals really. Your body does better if you add protein with whatever you’re eating.
      Sound you eat an apple, add some peanut butter or nuts. If you have a big salad, throw some chicken, tuna or beans on top.
      I do eat 3 meals a day usually or 2 meals and a snack. But I don’t overeat! I stop eating when I feel satisfied, not overly full.

    • @sandysteinbrook
      @sandysteinbrook  Год назад

    Thank you Sandy for sharing all these great meals with us! It takes time and effort to make these videos so thank you! You are my role model for doing IF and you look amazing!! I am just starting my third week.I am doing 20:4 IF.
    Switching how we eat, eating more one day and less the next as well as switching our eating windows on occasion is the key to weight loss or losing inches. We have to keep tricking our bodies so they never have a chance to store fat and will use it as energy instead. And we have to eat enough calories or our body will go into starvation mode and store that food as fat.

    • @sandysteinbrook
      @sandysteinbrook  Год назад +1

      Yes! You are so right that we need enough calories. I am just not sure the people that do
      OMAD are getting enough protein. I may address that in a video. Everyone gets to do life the way they want to but, if there is not enough protein consumed in one meal, people will start to lose their muscle. Skinny fat is not a good way to be.

    • @sandysteinbrook
      @sandysteinbrook  Год назад +1

      I am active. I workout 5 days a week for 30 minutes. Plus I take a 30-45 minute walk on the other days I am not doing a workout. Sometimes people aren't eating enough food and protein. If that happens, our body actually slows down metabolism to hold on to the nutrients that come in. Are you losing weight and feeling energetic with one meal a day and snack? If so, maybe that is what your body needs for now until you add some activity in your days. Walking is a fabulous way to get exercise.

    • @sandysteinbrook
      @sandysteinbrook  Год назад

      Oh yes, being able to cook will help you so much, Liz! It is much healthier and definitely cheaper too. Why don't you try to make the homemade chipotle bowl this week? It is black beans cooked in some water and taco seasoning and then adding all of your favorite toppings. It is so filling, and being plant based, your body will digest the nutrients easily. Eat that on a regular carb day.
      Try to do one low carb day this week, Liz. It will keep your body guessing and you will lose more weight. Have 2-3 eggs, 2 slices of bacon and 1/2 and avocado for one meal. For another meal have a piece of meat and 2 low carb veggies like roasted zucchini, mushrooms, or Brussel sprouts. If you need a third meal, have a big salad and put some chicken, sunflower seeds and lots of low carb veggies on it. Top with an olive oil vinaigrette. You will be feeding your body real Whole Foods and not only will the weight come off after a while, but you will feel so good eating real food. I fast 16:8. What are you doing for fasting schedule?

      It is definitely a challenge when starting! 3 weeks wasn’t long enough to give your body, but the body really will adapt. You can still have coffee, just black coffee if you’re doing a clean fast. Or just work to get your additives down. Work towards putting in half of what you normally would.

    Apparently 95 per cent of our life is run by our sub-conscious mind,, habits, programs, etc, and 15 per cent is our conscious mind. Which is our hopes and dreams. So our body is run by our learned habits from zero to 7 years of age. Interesting stuff. I am watching Bruce Lipton now a lot. Things are not what they seem, ever I guess! Insert smily face here. Great video I am changing my conscious mind daily now getting rid of the old programs etc. God bless you!

      Hello! I do a 16:8 method of fasting. So I fast for 16 hours and eat in an 8 hour window. My time frame is typically from 11am-7pm for my eating window.

    These were great ideas and showing what you changed up to help with weightloss and getting healthy. I started clean IF in January and in February I didnt lose as "fast" as thec1st month. So I added in changes, trying to up veggies and fiber rich foods, and even added walking a few times a week. Do you belong to a fb group too?

    • @sandysteinbrook
      @sandysteinbrook  Год назад

      I do not, but I do think that FB groups are a great source of encouragement and knowledge.
      Fiber is so important! It helps us rid our body of waste. Having a bowel
      Movement every 2-3 days is not normal.

      Make sure you are getting plenty of protein. You don't want to lose any muscle mass from not eating enough. Our metabolism actually slow down if we don't consume enough food and nutrients.

    • @sandysteinbrook
      @sandysteinbrook  Год назад

      I made them. Here is a videos on how to do it. The video I made is for 'Reese cups', but it is the same recipe. Just put the peanut butter mixture in the freezer until stiff enough to roll into balls. Then you can just spoon the dark chocolate mixture over the top and freeze. I freeze on a silicone mat on a cookie sheet. They remove very easily that way.
