    Very nice video! I always assumed it used magnets somehow, but springs makes a lot more sense!

    Nice but you should have shown how the blade goes off the rails and how to remedy that. Good animation. If I had seen this earlier I would not have bought a cheap one to disassemble.

    I wonder if polishing the latches and the plate where it contacts them would reduce the required switch pressure to actuate the knife? 🤔🤔

      Just use lighter springs. As long as they’re still strong enough to quickly and cleanly expel and retract the blade.
