My darkest hour came at 11am when I was 11. I was visiting my older brother only to be the first one in his house then to find his dead body in his chair in the living room.
my eleven year old grandson turned me on to shinedown, I have been missing one of the greatest band in my lifetime I'm 57 brent is absofuckinlutly one of the best singers I have heard in this lifetime
Sorry for infringing into your privacy without your permission Strangers can become best friend just as easy as best friend can become strangers if you don’t mind i would love 💕 to talk with you.
Really? I see it as quite the opposite. I played this song for my brother, who is a crybaby, a gun-toting suicidal narcissist. I told him it was HIS song. He didn't like that, and i don't care - which is exactly what the song is about.
I like it because it's a really cool song and also makes me mad but in a good way also like Linkin Park breaking Benjamin and those kind of people and music
Shinedown has gotten me through some crazy, traumatic life events. I can't express how much their music has saved me. I haven't heard a song i didn't like. Seeing them again on june 28 and july 3, super excited. Even more so because it'll be my son's first concert and he absolutely loves shinedown! Can't wait
SaturnIV4 Your first comment may have not been directed to my opinion but it was completely uncalled for and making useless comments like that makes you look incredibly stupid
2023 just now realizing what this song actually means, I’m glad I’m in my teen years and I’m exposed to the reality of this world. Just feels like I learn from all the dumb stuff in the world
The Baddest ( In a good way) Lyrics ever written... Powerful message, powerful musicians..Powerful vocals... it doesn't get better than this. "Perfection"... "I hope everyone that hears this song actually listens to the lyrics... after all it was written for you".
Ákos Könyvásó Yeah, I realize this was uploaded in 2009, that was my whole point. They've changed so much in 6 years that they hardly seem like the same people.
I enjoyed them a little more than Godsmack. Both put on a great show. I will definitely go and see Shinedown and Godsmack. Five finger death punch and Shinedown would be a great show
"I created the sound of madness... wrote the book on pain and somehow I'm still here to explain" this the the phrase i had tattooed about 2 months ago. Many more Shinedown inspired tattoos are coming.
Hi Ashley! If you like you could listen to PENUMBRA - Tormento (Video Lyrics) it's a similar style, maybe you like it too. I'd love to know your opinion about them. Cheers!
My son whom I love dearly turned me onto this band! This lead singer has one of the most powerful voices I have ever heard. He is up there with Jeff Tate in my opinion? I don't think anyone else could of ever sang "Simple Man" the way it should be sang, except him. This band rocks. My son is locked up for a long time & I really miss him. So I listen to the band often & think about him.
Love this band, and of course his voice, adore him !! Sorry to hear about your son, understand listening to this helps you, you do what you can to get through it.
Oh wow! Never thought to even check these comments. Ty for the couple of positive things you posted. So many ppl do not understand how things that we do to ourselves or others do to us, affects many. Especially the ones who really love us & we do not even realize it or believe it. No one ever wants to talk about the bad. B/c I don't struggle every day to make it, most ppl believe that it's not even a problem. Some ppl think & feel their lives are way worse than mine. Some are. Some are not. Either way, everyone's problems are big & important to themselves. That is all that matters. I try to practice understanding than trying to be understood & life is better. Prison no is not where I would like to have my son? I do have him. A lot of mothers do not. It's all about gratitude.
Kelly McNeely Hey, do you have a Bible? If not then you need to go buy one and read some of the New Testament, it's very inspirational and the way that you've written these comments look like they should be in the Bible itself! The comments sections for pretty much every Shinedown video is FULL of inspirational words, and I believe yours are the most inspirational of them all! I'm really sorry about your son, in fact, I'll pray for his safety. Never believe that you're alone because God will always be there with you.
This always reminds me of my sister because she used to blast this song up all the time driving. She passed away in 2020 and she was a huge fan of Shinedown.

So true!
"Thats the darkest hour never comes in the night"gives me chills every time so trueee
Right?
Many dark days.
My darkest hour came at 11am when I was 11. I was visiting my older brother only to be the first one in his house then to find his dead body in his chair in the living room.
@@protojayplays6169 omg im so sorry dude youre doing okay
Yesss! I agree!!!!
my eleven year old grandson turned me on to shinedown, I have been missing one of the greatest band in my lifetime I'm 57 brent is absofuckinlutly one of the best singers I have heard in this lifetime
Agree completely.. Very underrated. It's a real shame.
All the time Shinedown doesn't get old
they sure don't get old at all.
I'm here because of a headbanging grandma on TikTok. Zero regrets tho!
Me too😂😂😂
@@borbalakomsa93 🤘😂
So i am, And I love it
@@eveliinahelin175 ofcourse!
Me too (I'm a grandma too) 🤘🤪
These guys are so damn good. My favorite band since they hit the air waves.
This is who needs to headline the Super Bowl !
Love this song. 🤟❤️
That would be the greatest thing ever. I would love to see that too🎸
YES!!!
Agreed. They would kill it
Would be awesome, but they (Shinedown) ain't that desperate or woke enough for the new nfl
2023 and this song still hits so hard!
Sorry for infringing into your privacy without your permission Strangers can become best friend just as easy as best friend can become strangers if you don’t mind i would love 💕 to talk with you.
@@garryyoung3154 this is the single strangest comment I have ever seen on RUclips
Same
But i agree with pam
Yeah it's a fire song
Tall Bill here, just turned 63 and still rocking! Righteous stuff.
3:58 This is a picture of something who is ACTUALLY a legend, not just for the memes, not just for some trick, but an incredible cause.
I think I've found a new band that I like.... ❤️
***** I heard of them before but never checked them out. I just might do that though, by the way, Happy New Year!
***** Really? To be honest, it was actually a long year for me though :/
***** That's true, everyone gets dealt with a different set of cards in life. What may be a long year to someone, may be a blink of an eye to another.
How could you NOT LOVE these guy's... AWESOME AWESOME AWESOME
Same i found this today and i freaking love this band ♥_♥
I love this song so much because it’s basically saying nobody cares what you’ve been through
Really? I see it as quite the opposite. I played this song for my brother, who is a crybaby, a gun-toting suicidal narcissist. I told him it was HIS song. He didn't like that, and i don't care - which is exactly what the song is about.
Nah it's about the part where he says I created The sound of madness wrote the book on pain but somehow I'm still here to explain that's it
That’s what’s great about art, everyone takes something different away from it, interpret it how you like.❤
I like it because it's a really cool song and also makes me mad but in a good way also like Linkin Park breaking Benjamin and those kind of people and music
@@jwixson6648 cool
Shinedown has gotten me through some crazy, traumatic life events. I can't express how much their music has saved me. I haven't heard a song i didn't like. Seeing them again on june 28 and july 3, super excited. Even more so because it'll be my son's first concert and he absolutely loves shinedown! Can't wait
Take me with you
July 10 pittsburgh!!! First time so pumped!!!
@@DrDemented9885 you'll have a great time!
Hope you had fun today
@@fooddroppers3586 it was awesome, son loved it and got a guitar pick!
My all time favorite song since i was little. I used to beg my dad to play it
" Love this fucking song , crank the volume , people drive by me an im rocking it out .🎉 1:49 1:53
My childhood though
good job dad, your daughter grew up on Shinedown, Slipknot, Nirvana, and Oasis
Nirvana is hella overrated
SaturnIV4 Well excuse me for having an opinion
Did I say shit about your opinion?
SaturnIV4 Your first comment may have not been directed to my opinion but it was completely uncalled for and making useless comments like that makes you look incredibly stupid
I simply stated my opinion
Still rocks in 2022! Cant wait for the new album!
🤘💯
I know it comes out on the 22nd April. I can't wait
It looks like a fucking ARG!
Yep
actually the release date for Planet Zero has been held off till July 1 I believe
This song just randomly popped up in my head this morning as I was cooking breakfast . It still goes hard 🪨
I think that's awesome! Making lunch and listening to this song. 🥪
Song goes hard man
The end of 2019 is near, but this song will never end!
MemMasterka damn right
great song
Finally heard it and saw them live for the 1st time live on Tuesday, fucking incredible!
Amen to that
That would be awesome to see them perform at the super bowl
It sure would be
I so love this song!!! Shinedown one of my favorite bands!! ❤❤❤
Looking at this video and Cut The Cord, you'd never think these were the same guys just by looking at them
+ShredNSlash maybe the drummer lol
+ShredNSlash and watch the upload time pls...
+Ákos Könyvásó he looks different in almost every video. I think it's pretty funny actually, nice that a guy just changes his image whenever he wants.
Ákos Könyvásó Yeah, I realize this was uploaded in 2009, that was my whole point. They've changed so much in 6 years that they hardly seem like the same people.
+ShredNSlash I was just thinking this today, he's changed so much over the years I had to check they still had the same front man.
This song started my love affair with Shinedown almost 14 yrs ago ♥️
Really that's awesome how long have you been a fan of them?😊.
This and 45 are still by far their best songs.
I absolutely love this song 🎉🎉🎉
They put on a badass concert! Especially Brent :) Miss his long hair, though!!
🤘Hell Yeah! 💚 #shinedown #soundofmadness
I don’t do concerts but thanks 😅
I enjoyed them a little more than Godsmack. Both put on a great show. I will definitely go and see Shinedown and Godsmack. Five finger death punch and Shinedown would be a great show
I love how Brent bows in the end of the video. It's like "here ya go fuckers"
Hell yeah!! It's like "now top that"!!
Or he's saying to ladies (& some men) everywhere "you're welcome"
Yah it's like "here ya go bithes
Lumina Lichtenengel you must’ve been high as a kite to say that, both of you..
I wholeheartedly endorse this song and I am not a bot!
Front and Center ! LETS GO!
"I created the sound of madness... wrote the book on pain and somehow I'm still here to explain" this the the phrase i had tattooed about 2 months ago. Many more Shinedown inspired tattoos are coming.
Totally awesome words. Amen to that one.
Awesome!!
Beautiful I feel that
Awesome
wow i read your comment right when the lyrics went in
We'll be rocking Shinedown for the rest of our lives 🙏 Good music never dies !
Hi Ashley! If you like you could listen to PENUMBRA - Tormento (Video Lyrics) it's a similar style, maybe you like it too. I'd love to know your opinion about them. Cheers!
Yeeeesss
@@giuseppeverdi2814 Thank you for the recommendation, I'll give them a try 🙏🤟
You misspelled “Great music never dies” lol
@@GingerGuy93 Your are 100% correct. My apologies 😅
This band is so good its like therapy. Brent smith is one of a kind. Keep rocking. We need you. God bless
I am still jamming to it!!!
I'm really sorry about your son ;_;
Austin 3:16 is better. WWE 4 Life.
Shinedown has so many styles, this and Cut the Cord have a metal feel.
no man this aint a metal feel more like rock check black stone cherry out you will get what i mean
The lyrics to the song I will forever hold me...❤so true, so spellbinding, so very blunt!!!😊
This always reminds me of my sister because she used to blast this song up all the time driving. She passed away in 2020 and she was a huge fan of Shinedown.
😞
I'm so sorry about your sister, I hope you find peace with her memories, God bless you
May she rest in peace. God bless her.

The evolution of Brent is spectacular!I can't give enough thanks for all the Smith and Meyer's songs. But I will always come back to this song. His looks changed but not the beautiful music he and all other artist have given the universe 🙂

You know this song is basically saying that you need to stop that nonsense, right? Stop your self pity, and self loathing.
I have listened to shinedown since they first started. But I just got clean off of dope after 20 years and their songs now mean so much to me, they are beautiful, and my family has connected closer to God because of them. Thank u Shinedown!
