I saw this man shut down Parkhurst prison. A principle man. Treated his own wound after the police shot him in the neck. A humble man true to his word. Thank you for presenting this man.
Jamaican sufferahs are some of the most fascinating people in the world. Fundamentally good, talented and honest people who sometimes through pressures of oppression turned to crime. May Jah RasTafari guide I and I out of badness.
The Legendary! Coopey Johnson. I Remember him from my childhood days. Nice to know he's still around in these times and has Change up his lifestyle! Jah guide and Protection!
Real gems and nuggets from the OG Coopey. I could listen to this gentleman all day everyday ah talk bout life growing up in the garrison. Yuh must know seh when the government turn dem back pon poor people dem have to create dem own system of survival.. Ah suh it go.
I watch all these legends tell there story, and one thing they all have in common ,everyone still poor and live in the ghetto, why they didnt used all that money take them self out of paverty.
These men owe the youths of today an obligation and should be on some sort of island-wide lecture in schools, to change the mindset of the younger youths.
Mr. Interviewer you shuld ask Coope if he had an education that take to be a dentist he should not be blaming the system for his demise , he was not am bicious.
Yeah, I think it is what separates a sadistic murderer from someone who killed because he felt he needed to. It's in human nature of all walks of life, that we can all kill but some take pleasure in hurting others. Sadists are also those perpetuating rape and torture and such. I trust God, only He is good.
He said he robbed plenty banks, & use the money buy shoes, & nice things, but he spent the money right back with the oppressors, he should have invested those monies into businesses, & become rich like the oppressor, they do all those crimes & grew old poor, & no av nothing to show for it
There is a man who I understand spend most of his life in and out of prison. His name is Kid Ralph...I heard Mutabaruka interviewed him some years ago...I would love for you to find him and have a face to face talk with him
BlackQ brush up Pon yuh questioning. Write down the questions you want to ask in your interviews ahead of time. You can't be stuttering to get out a question as if I got caught off guard when u the interviewer 🤦🏿♂️do better my G. Love ur channel. Better than Sir P weh a chat bout people like a mahma man. The Jamaican prisons were most likely built by the English and those in Europe were no different in the past so it's more about timing than location... We take opportunity to hurt each other and these attitudes are challenged by those who want it better, inspired by God and so things change but our human nature doesn't so it isn't hard to get back there if we don't trust God for a change of heart... I look to Him, only He is good.
Good channel! But as mi say a only jamaican RUclipsr's show foolishness about the country!. Big up British man fi a wise dem up! From real people with real words out of 🇯🇲
Nice interview this guy Coopy talked with a lot of sense,I know how the inner cities communities them run. Because I was living in the Kingston 11 area so I know how the system run,if you lived to see 25 at least in the inner cities. You are very, very lucky, because you get killed in several ways. By the police officers them,by your same friends them,or by gangsters from different places, also fighting political party warfare.Living in the inner cities communities it is not easy,as what Coopey is saying. That you will apply for a job and, once you used address on the application. You are not getting the job at all, I have experienced that I should have used my uncle address. Most of these younger generation in Jamaica does not experiences, the types of discrimination that we at the elders went through at all.
We need to remember the soldiers and police too, that they put their lives on the line daily, like the shootout today, is police get called out to deal with it and tape off and such, they do a difficult job. I pray they don't enjoy the ugly side of it. Pray for them. God bless.
The mistake in life is to think that people consciously decide to have these biases to each other but it is our very nature. A ghetto youth may be viewed suspiciously in a posh neighborhood just as an outside or privileged youth may be unaccepted, standout, targeted and such in a ghetto... Humanity is in chaos, all of us, as we search for an answer for existence but we have an answer in God, who takes care of us anywhere when we trust Him. Man to man is so unjust. I trust God.

Poverty does not cause badness, pure rubbish with all due respect, badness is a societal construct, its all about choices, two brothers in the same household, with the same upbringing yet one becomes a teacher and the other becomes a criminal, its all about choices. Choices we make determines the life we lead. A man's mind is his only prison. We need to stop blaming the system, the system is not a system without people, people are misguided, he said it himself that he didn't have it so " mi havi go look it" in other words steal and kill your brother for your own selfishness .
Yuh love take away rich man things how about you don’t take nothing from no one what stupid way of thinking. And a lot of youth still think the same way and I bet he is still poor because anything you don’t achieve good will never last.
