Hey Jake! Why did you switch from Linux to MacOS? I‘m thinking about switching from my Linux Desktop PC to a new Macbook. I would love to hear your opinion :)
Hey there! So really it's a trying it out thing. I'm consolidating from a desktop and a bunch of laptops to just one laptop, and one of the laptops I was looking at getting is a MacBook. What I will say I like about macOS is that it's still Unix under the hood, and works with AutoCAD and Fusion360, which are sadly missing on Linux.
So two things here. 1. I recorded this in the dead of night, had to do it when my kids are asleep. I was bonkers tired so my brain was holding my fingers back a bit. 2. I was using a macOS VM that had like no graphical memory so if I typed too fast the screen would stutter and mess me up. I have used VSCode before, and it was much slower in the VM.
@@jakewestall5201 I’m sorry for the slightly aggressive comment. I had no idea. My prejudice that Vim users are stubborn. But I still think you can make it look better with methods like video editing. Good video.

Your fingers are so slow that you need VSCode autocompletion.

@@jakewestall5201 and you and your cat are handsome
It's no problem. For larger projects I do use VS Code. And yes, video editing would have helped me in this situation.
@@ansowarrower5038doesn't vim have autocompletion too?
Thank you!
