LOL. This couple is typical of many American families who treat their "adult" children as babies. I've lived in the US so have experienced this firsthand. Almost all Countries in the Western world have far more relaxed and realistic laws as people become adults. EG Age of consent is generally 15 or 16. Driving licence varies a bit but is around 15 or 16. Drinking in bars is generally 18 but allowances made in restaurantes for 14 to 16 yrs old drinking wine with parents/guardians. So, generally 18 year olds are ADULTS! Can get married without parents permission, join the Military, sign legal documents, work as Strippers or in Brothels (in most countries they are legal). In the USA they even talk of ADULTS of 20 going to SCHOOL as if they are High School boys and girls. When obviously they are College or University Students, not "school kids". They are pretty much babied until they are around 22! Physically and mentally they are mature BUT socially and emotionally they are years behind Europeans who have had to be more responsible from a younger age. Obviously I'm generalising but huge elements of truth. Myself and two friends spent around 6 months travelling all around the USA when we were aged 20. (We were from New Zealand) We had left school at 17, all 3 of us worked two jobs for 3 years to save up enough to travel the world for a couple of years, without working. In the States we were amazed to be treated like kids! LOL. No drinking in bars. LOL. We had been drinking in bars in NZ since we were 16! Living in Flats/Condos since 17 and self supporting. It was a whole new world meeting same age Americans who were still supported by their parents! Oh well. Such is life. Cheers.
I started going out with my boyfriend when I was 18, and he was 32. I am now 47 and he is 61 and we are still together so age gap relationships do work.
Can't speak for the boyfriend personally as obviously I don't know him. But in my opinion, it's almost certainly much better for your daughter to be dating a 24 year old man than an 18 year old boy. A 24 year old is way safer and more advantageous towards your daughter than an 18 year old could ever hope to be. Compared to an 18 year old: He has more maturity with much less irresponsible testosterone clouding his judgement. Therefore he's more sensible and much less likely to do something, selfish, aggressive or stupid that disrespects, hurts or endangers your daughter. He likely has better financial and job stability. So he's likely going to be less dependant on your daughter and more of a provider in that regard. He has greater life skills, experience and confidence. Which is why he's better adept at holding a conversation with you. It also means he'll likely be a better physical, mental and emotional influence, rock and provider to your daughter. And so will likely be a much better and stable contributor to your daughter's growth and development. Don't worry about the facial hair. Plenty of facial hair is very popular and normal in Britain these days. Today 61% of British 18-40 year olds have some form of facial hair As a general rule British males are very good at growing it, for some reason. Many are fortunate enough to begin happily sporting small beards from as early as 13-14 years old. Something else to keep in mind. British Male, dating and relationship culture has a few differences compared to the USA. One difference I think you've already encountered is that making parents aware of a relationship at a very early stage is much less of a concern in British culture than it is in the USA. Introducing a partner to your parents is I believe a big early dating milestone in the USA. However, in the UK it's simply seen as a necessity when the time is right and the couple are confident they're in an actual relationship. We Brits like to get happily comfortable with each other first. Before getting comfortable with each others family.
@@helenwood8482 In the UK at 18 you're already in University if you're still through school and have been legally allowed to have sex for 2 years, drive for 1 year and are able to drink legally. Depending on the person and how mature they are it's really no issue to date someone thats 18. I don't think 24 is too bad. I can see for US people though because their 18 is more like our 16, it might be a bit different.

your a true dad! lol make sure you lift him off his feet by his lapels and advise him that she is your princess lol. no motor bikes etc lol Just think back to your own thoughts and behaviour when you were 24 lol..................... no better not lol
Seems like a nice Lad
I met my wife when she was 18 but 3 months later she was 19 and I bought her a flying lesson to bring her out of her shell a little. 27 yrs later (married 22) we're still in love. She's 45 now and I'm ................ 58. Can you imagine her parents back in the day lol.
Nice one mate keep up the good work on keeping her happy
This is an awesome story 😊❤️
@@travelingfamilyoffive and they say romance is dead if you treat ya partner right they will have no reason to leave or find any one else it's my parents golden wedding anniversary 6th June tomorrow 50 years together most couples these days don't make 5 years never mind 50 lol
Cliff Butler that is the truth! People walk away instead of putting the effort into a marriage. 50 years is something to be proud of!! Congratulations
@@travelingfamilyoffive Thank you. Although I'm 12 and a bit years older than my wife she maintains I'm a 9 yr old lol. We get on great :)
Nice one dad i`d be the same ....
Wow. It's like you're arranging her marriage. He can take care of her? Are you from 1750? He's far too old for her and sounds very dodgy.
with parents like that ,I would have to escape as soon as I could ....what a pair of twonks
Pete Jones don’t be rude
He loves the word dude.
She looks about 14
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
18? thats very legal
See people have always assumed because how I look I am older than I am always got when I was younger
My daughter is twelve and looks older...
the dad is very handsome.
Elliot Grimshaw thank you 😊
THEY HAVE FAMILY CIRCLE IN AMERICA!!!!
So your not staying in the uk ?
Your in the UK for this video but at the same time slating it. Makes no sense
Good luck too her
I take him out back dad and ask what his attendance just saying
'attendance'?
Michelle and family a such a good example to the British people
Good restraint sir. When my daughter turns 18 she wont be allowed to be with someone who is 4 years older let alone 6 years.
its probably a lot more dangerous for you daughter to date someone her own age. 18 year old guys in tend to be a bit rapey. saw a lot of fucked up shit back in my uni days.
@@ddha0000 I disagree, older guys who have a interest in really young girls are rapey😶
Could you have foreseen what would happen 2 years later 🤣🤣🤷🤦
No I honestly figured it would play itself out 😬😂
@@travelingfamilyoffive well you've either got a wedding to go to, or she becomes so confident she will be living in France next 🤷🤦🤣
LOL!! I do love the confidence BUT…..she can come back home and be miss independent 😂😂😊
@@travelingfamilyoffive I remember taking a gap year before university to travel the world , once I got my degree I was off again, once you start travelling to different countries you just get the bug , the world is so small really and you begin to realise you can go anywhere you want at anytime , but also be just a flight home again at anytime , I think she will love travelling or now we are getting out of this pandemic and you don't need to quarantine if you've had both jabs she's going to want to shoot over to Rome, Prague, Barcelona, Paris , Amsterdam , Berlin, Moscow etc etc , especially with all these deals coming on line for city breaks over a weekend etc 😂😂🌎
@@glastonbury4304 lol she wanted to be an international flight attendant (a few years back). I encouraged her as she could continue to explore the world. She’s already seen all the places you have mentioned but there’s plenty more to see!! I love to travel and hopefully my kiddos continue to enjoy it as well.
Fathers and their daughters
Guess who's coming to dinner?
You lot are now famous on instagram for your tea making video.. taking a bit of a pounding on there not gona lie 🤣 “thearchbish0pofbanterbury” its gone out to 2.5 mil insta followers
Do some maths about you and your husband. You are not yet 40 and have 18 year old twins!
Keep your friends close and your enemies even closer...
I have such a crush on Josh. You did so well Michelle. X
I feel like she's been groomed. In London we had a 2 year rule. If a girl was 2 years younger or less, it was fine. But if she was 3 or more years younger, you don't entertain the notion. 6 years for a girl that was 17 at the time and he was 23 is very weird.
you must have had your kids really young
Sweet home Alabama 😂
!8 / 24 that to the majority of UK parents would be worrying. .
Why is this even a thing ? White Americans are British
He's got a beard.
Guys on west coast would never embarrass ourselves by his so called slang.
we do not have cheer leaders in this country
The mom is an absolute babe
Met Not Meet
Jimmy Savile and Jeffrey Epstein liked this video.
I'm a brit and six years older when the girl is 18 is still creepy as fuck
No it isnt, if its over 10, its bad
Thats weird. 18 year old and a 24 year old
No its not
@@kaiser3798 yes it is she just turned 18 too
Would you find it weird for a 18 year old boy being with a 24 year old girl or only weird when the boy is older
@@Ukfairgrounds nah they’re both weird
@@Ukfairgrounds he would of been with her when she was 17 and he was 24 aswell thats not even legal
