Hey, I just found home myself. I am learning a lot from him. I think he has posted on wild fires roo.. fires all across Canada, smoke and fire so bad that people are being evacuated. Didn't mean to but in. But loving the road travel.
What memories! I am 78 years old! I was born and raised in Salem Oregon! But my mothers sister, my aunt lived just outside of Brookings in a house they built overlooking the ocean! On about 10 acres! In the 1950s, we made many trips from Salem to Brookings! At that time there was no Highway 101 and we had to cross the Cascades and they were very winding mountain roads! My little brother, and I would get carsick! Also, when I was older, Salem was not that far from the coast! After 10 years in Salt Lake City and 20 years in Las Vegas as a real estate broker, I moved to Port Orford on the Oregon coast! Small, fishing village, you went through!
Amazing. Cant get enough of the Oregon coast. For 2-1/2 hours i sat here, watched all your footage, felt like i was transported to Oregon, now feel like I’ve been on vacation. Thanks for that.
You really should come visit. It is beautiful here. I live in Salem Oregon which is about a 45min drive west to Lincoln City. If you like all the little quaint shops, Depoe Bay is the place to go. It’s about halfway between Lincoln City and Newport.
I LOVE your enthusiasm for the Oregon Coast! I lived a couple miles north of Port Orford up Elk River Rd. for over 30 years. Raised my children there. Their father was born and raised thete as well. You make us l9cals appreciate what we tend to take for granted. Please tell me you were able to move to the Oregon Coast. You really seem to like it.
I sometimes take it for granted that I was born on the Oregon coast, grew up in Oregon. So when I see it through your eyes and your wonderful video it really makes me appreciate it.
Your video of the Oregon Coast is the best I've seen so far! I'm making the trip this summer! I love your narrator's voice! You strike the perfect balance of letting the viewer know what is going on while allowing us to take in the amazing scenery and have our own peaceful moments, too! I love that you don't use background music so we can hear the wind and the waves!
Thank you for traveling through Good Bay, where I was born and lived for a few decades. Loved seeing you drive past my grandmother's old house and seeing all old places/memories!
Wow! I flew to Portland in 1980 right after Mount Saint Helens blew up. I rode a bicycle across the country to Massachusetts. I went up to Astoria and rode the bike down most of the Oregon Coast before turning in at Reedsport to go to Crater Lake. The coast was incredible! Every mile there was something awesome to see. Cannon Beach blew my mind. I have been back twice since. In October I will be going again, spending five night at Cannon Beach to really get to know the place. Your video is so inspiring! Thank for posting it!
Thank you for coming back to visit us in Oregon. The coast is spectacular, and we are so proud to share our with visitors. If you get the chance to visit Bandon Beach on the South Coast, you'll find it every bit as beautiful as Cannon Beach. ❤
Cannon beach is gorgeous. I’ve been there a few times, but because I’m older, I prefer the shorter trips to Lincoln City or New Port. I live in Salem Oregon, so it’s only about 45 mins to an hour to get there as apposed to almost 2hrs to Cannon Beach.
My wife and I both grew up in oregon. We both think it's the most beautiful state in the union. But due to finances we ended up in North Carolina, which is another beautiful state. Love the beauty of our country!
Thank you so much for taking us on this gorgeous trip with you. I'm from Maine, yet I have been along some of the Oregon coast. I loved it so much. Wish I could go back!
When I first got to the oregon coast coming from the same direction as you it took me a whole week to finally make it up to the end in Astoria. I would stop every 5 minutes because there was something to see around every corner. I still have so many pins saved of places I didn't stop at yet. Truly a magical place
Excellent video! I grew up in Eugene, Oregon, and made many visits to the coast. Quite a few of the bridges were designed by a man named Conde McCullough, who was a civil engineer with the Oregon Department of Transportation. My father was also a civil engineer and bridge designer, and a fan of McCullough's work.
This video is bringing back many memories. We had our retirement home on the Long Beach Peninsula in Washington and traveled 101 many times. Yes, those winter storm are nasty. Winds could get over 70 mph and the accompanying rains could hurt if you were out in them. But we could enjoy morning coffee and watch the whales migrating in their seasons. There's beauty with every corner of this road.
I was checking out the Long Beach Peninsula right after the Japanese tsunami! We had a warning, and they evacuated the whole town! Never forget that! Also, lived in Port Orford, Oregon. What an experience! Unbelievably gorgeous country
What an amazing video! We didn't realize how beautiful the entire coast of Oregon is! Thank you for making it so interesting! Now we want to travel there!
You brought back so many wonderful memories for me. I was stationed at North Bend Air Force Station in 1969 on a mountain top above the village of Hauser. I had great friends at the Coast Guard station in Charleston. I am retired military and civilian now and traveling around in a converted van. Thank you!
Came across your traveling videos about 1month ago , I’m hooked on them. I feel I’m right next to ya , enjoying the sights ! And I don’t get car sick doing this ! Lol ! And best of all -- I get to see our country traveling with someone who knows and talks about the sights ! You’re a Blessing !
Thank you so much for your beautiful video. I think I’ve watched it three or four times already please come back to the Oregon coast and show us more beautiful places.♥️
Oh boy!! You’re in my stomping grounds, Russ!! Thank you so much! Born and raised in Coos Bay, and lived in Lincoln City for many moons. As always, exceptional job. I always look forward to seeing what you have for us from week to week.
Love it! In the beginning of the video, you drove right by my house. We lice in Smith River, CA. Just below the Oregon Border....its a great place to live, the Pacific North West!
I lived in Oregon for a short while in 1959 and fell in love with the trees, mountains, clear rushing rivers and McKenzie Pass drive down to Springfield….Still love Oregon Duck football…..I’m a Texan but have to say Oregon is the most beautiful state in USA…..followed by North Carolina, Montana and Colorado…then of course the Hill Country of Texas….I love traveling with you Russ and this video makes me want to go to Oregon one more time!❤️❤️❤️
I will never see that side of our country, too old. Thank you for stopping on the beach and saying " I'll stop talking now, so you can just enjoy this", I really appreciate that you give us a quiet moment to be there, if only for a moment.
Russ, this footage that you made several years ago was incredible.. Magnificent video pictures of the Pacific Coast. Breathtaking rock and shoreline formations. Thank you for including your viewers in the five day trip.
Totally Awesome! After 45 years of USAF life. Wife and I went Oregon Coast in 2020! Love it. I grew up in Maupin Oregon! Was nice going home with no hurry back Utah where we live now! Love your Videos!
Oregon is a beautiful state. Spent 6 months in Washington back in 2014 in an RV Park right at the ocean. It was glorious! Have only ever driven through Oregon. Never stayed there.
You can always tell when Russ gets cold, the story boards are a blur as he is moving along. I always get a chuckle when he says how cold it is as he is turning on his heater in his van. 😅
Last year my bff & I visited Oregon and took Greyhound from Portland to Canon Beach (famous haystack rock from the Goonies). It was a spectacular day, the water was incredible, the town was quaint, clean and so fun. One of our best days in Oregon. The trees are beautiful!! Love this video!!
I love this channel. I be so caught up into watching the videos that I barely comment. These videos are so therapeutic. I binge watch them, over and over. Welcome to my Saturday. ❤
@RVerTV, your videos are an experience, they feel like you are walking and chatting with a best friend. Refreshing divergence from the "influencer" crowd! Thank you.
My daughter lived in Portland Oregon for a couple of years. I went out to see her a couple of times, and my, is it beautiful there! She took me over to the coast one time. Another time she took me to Multnomah Falls.❤️ She ended up moving back to Florida because Oregon wasn’t warm enough for her, lol.
Ive been RVing with my parents up the 101 from Bandon to Long Beach Wa. Several times, crabbing and sights seeing all the way up. My favorite road trip. I just recently did it in my Land Rover tent/car camping along side my parents in their RV. Best road trip yet! So beautiful. Thanks for this great vid!
Bandon is one of the most photographed beaches in Oregon, with dozens of commercials filmed there. It's one of my favorites. But the entire coast here in Oregon is spectacular. Plus being able to see orcas, and gray whales not to mention a lot of other wildlife.
@@GuantanamoBayBarbie3 on one of my trips straight down the cliffs at Depot bay there was a gray whale mama and her baby, that same trip up in Short Sands in Ozwald there was a fresh dead Humpback rolling aroynd the shore that had a couple great whites just yards off of the beach... The Oregon coast is so spectacular to me. I never tire of it.
Russ thank you so much for this! I left southern Oregon two years ago to go full time in my RV. Shore Acres is my most favorite place on the whole Oregon Coast. You made me homesick for it. I've spent the last two winters in Quartzsite.
I live on southern Oregon coast during spring, summer & fall. Gorgeous area! But I don't like it so much during the winter so I escape for the winter months to the desert 🌵 🏜 of southern Arizona. Best of both worlds.
The wife and I were in Bandon last winter just before Christmas and it was brisk but beautiful. We got 9 holes in at Bandon Pacific course and we just fell in love with the Oregon coast. We came down from Canada through Washington, which was stunning as well when not near the big cities, and can't wait to go back down to start tackling the southern portion of the PCH into California next Christmas. That lighthouse wasn't open when we were there so thanks for showing us what was in side of it 👍.
I live east over the mountains from Brookings. We love the drive you are on. Never stopped at Arch Rock. On my list now. Have stayed at Harris State Beach. Beautiful spot. It's fun hearing your reactions to our coast. Thanks
Thank you for highlighting our beautiful town of Brookings and Harris Beach! Yes everyone is welcome to come and visit! ❤ we have hotels right on the beach and a beautiful boat harbor with great fishing and crabbing! Thanks again Russ
Russ, you never disappoint with your spectacular adventures…Oregon is definitely in my bucket list…looking forward to more exciting places with you!🙏🙏🙏
Hi Russ, welcome to Port Orford! When the lighthouse lady said “one”. I said no, there are hundreds coming in with you! I think the A is soft in Blanco.. and the wind is brutal there! See you inQuartzsite..
Great video! Shore Acres has a wonderful Japanese Garden area you missed. And, a magnificent path down to a hidden beach. Christmas is Special there every year. Lights throughkut the gardens and a Victorian Christmas decorated Gardeners Cottage on the grounds (with carolers in period costumes). Not to be missed!
Best part of the coast from Brookings to Coos Bay. To developed North of there. Not many side drives on improved roads to the east but worth the drive if you have the time. Some of the best side road drives on the coast are in Tillamook County. Detour off at Pacific City up to Cape Mears and around to Tillamook. Lots of ocean views on this route as 101 gets away from the ocean on that stretch. North of Tillamook just south of Garibladi Detour on Miami River Road back to 101. Or take a right on Hwy 53 to Hwy 26. This does get away from the ocean but is a beautiful drive. Great video.
I grew up in Gold Beach in the 60's and 70's and actually worked a couple of summers at Humbug State Park in HS and college. I hiked up to the top of the mountain a couple of times, but I was much younger then. lol There is a spring that runs down the side of the mountain and you cross it several times on the trail. We used to drink right out of it. I used to go back as an adult for vacations to Gold Beach but haven't been able to go back for the last four years since I moved to Phoenix. I'm saving money to get a van and become a snowbird. BTW, I miss those roaring Oregon Coast winter storms. So nice to hunker down and listen to mother nature roar.
We just love Port Orford! And the Humbug Mtn. Campground. It’s so fun to watch this video and recognize all of it! Then Cape Blanco. All so beautiful. Thanks for this well done video. Next time the botanical garden! Have a good trip!
The Oregon coast is magical, I love traveling from the Columbia River to the Redwoods in Northern CA on 101, takes me about a month. Thanks for the wonderful views in your video, think it's time for a trip this Sept. I don't stay at Cape Blanco anymore because the wind is always screamin' but I like to take the side trip from 101 to the lighthouse.
Like the clip and found it humerus too when your reply to the 3 mile hike was to have a lift and an oxygen tank. I hear you! I live by the NorCal coast and never go to the coast because it’s so cold and windy! It was uncomfortable when I was in my 20’s and 30’s too! It’s definitely not L.A. here! You have to go visit Bodega Bay in California where they filmed Alfred Hitchcock’s movie, The Birds”! Nothing changed there! The same church and schoolhouse is there. Love that town, good seafood places near the 101 too!
Brookings is beautiful when I was a kid we stayed at alot of them one of my favorite is honeyman in Florence Beverly Beach by Lincoln city is beautiful I enjoy your videos enjoy have a safe trip
Seaside is beautiful, so is Nehalem all along the coast, if you’ve never been to Tillamook, do so! Their ice cream is the best! There are many campgrounds which I know you’ll love! I could go on and on! Water is extremely cold, but you need to stick your feet in it just to say you been to the beach!
Love your Video... showing the road not your face..... Nice way your comments describing not critizaing... Nice trip Thank Best regards from Mexico ....😊
When you go to Cape Blanco, you better put your long johns on with a good jacket. By the way Cape Blanco means white coast in Spanish. It was named by a Spanish explorer.
I used to love going on the Rogue River jet boats from Gold Beach to Agnes on the river when I was a girl with my parents. We had family in both Northern California and Oregon. Not expensive and was so fun. Not difficult as I was a kid and my parents were everyday folks in their forties and fifties then. P.S. Loving the green and ocean views as many of our home views here in my neck of the woods are brown now in spits of all the earlier rains! Thanks for sharing about the campground, too. Safe travels.
Thank you for sharing. I live on the oregon coast and I travel these routes that you posted daily. I’m so glad I don’t live in Southern California anymore.
10.mins 33 : " Not bad for an old man ! " ( Easier going down though, isn't it ! You've got to climb back up , yet ! 😊). I think it's great that you said how beautiful the beach was , and to soak it up... it's that active realisation , as it's happening, that does so much good for one's mood 😊. And we pick up that emotion, as if we're there , enjoying it with you ☺️. I've been housebound for 7 full months, so these travel videos are very much appreciated 🚐🌫️ Videoing the experience , with full colour and sound : the modern cameras are SO good now, aren't they.😊📹. And all these trips will make lots of happy memories for the future 🚐🌫️🌫️🌫️ Many thanks, and all good wishes from England.😊. 🇬🇧☺️🇺🇲🔆🌿🌈🚐🌫️🥀🇬🇧
Wow. I have always wondered what oregon looks like! Im in rural Wisconsin. This is heaven, to me. Beautiful scenery and filming. Thank you for the mini vacation!!! God bless you!!
I love this coast line! Thanks for bringing me back here! Camped down by the beach down from the Elks Lodge! Going north, the dunes rv park is a nice place to visit! I’d love to move to Lincoln City permanently,
Russ, thanks for the memories of Route 101. I did that trip 5 years ago. Stopped and visited with a good friend who lives in Gold Beach. I stopped in Grants Pass and almost stayed as a full-time resident. Thanx again for the memories...
We're watching you see our town, North Bend and Coos Bay, as you approach to Virginia Ave. I'm in you my wife and I were saying stop stop turn left right there for Walmart. Let me watch to go over the bridge toward our home it was so funny. You do a real good job we enjoy your shows Paul in North Bend Oregon.❤
Hope you visit the Eastern Shore and Chesapeake Bay - try some of their famous crab cakes and she-crab soup. See the wild horses on Chincoteague Island - once a year roundup and sale of ponies. I sure miss it. love, love, love your trips

Thank you so much for sharing the awesome awesome video. God-bless you.!!
Every time I see the that coast, I imagine what Louis and Clark must have thought when they finally saw the Pacific.
Refreshing beautiful video
Thanks for Sharing Russ! So Beautiful Oregon coast. Wonderful, amazing trip.
The sand dunes at Florence Oregon were Frank Herbert's inspiration for his book Dune.
We live in Florence. Four years now and I'm loving the coast !
Beautiful video Russ thanks for sharing.
There was a mile by mile guide to the Oregon Coast. It made it easy to find small museums and all sorts of interesting things.
Beautiful!!! God’s Artwork!!!😘🦭🌷😍
I have to say that you got some amazing shots of the beautiful Oregon coast! Thank you for doing the trip and sharing it with us!
Brookings is beautiful when I was a kid we stayed at alot of them one of my favorite is honeyman in Florence Beverly Beach by Lincoln city is beautiful I enjoy your videos enjoy have a safe trip
Yay! You are in our part of the country.
Some of the best state campgrouds we ever stayed at are in Oregon.
Thank you so much for an amazing journey thus far! I look forward to your next videos,Russ!
One of my absolute favorite places to be is the chetco River in Brookings and the dunes of coos Bay! Great video russ!
Just as awesome as the beautiful pictures, is the wonderful way you narrate. Love the attitude!!
Nice trip
Thank
Best regards from Mexico ....😊
When you go to Cape Blanco, you better put your long johns on with a good jacket. By the way Cape Blanco means white coast in Spanish. It was named by a Spanish explorer.
Thanks for bringing it to us
I love the Oregon coast and keep finding ways to return.
Good video.
Ps you missed your turn in my town north bend oregon. At least you crossed the north bend bridge 3 times👍

Pacific Northwest is beautiful. Who doesn't want to live there
Your laugh is a zen moment 😅
I so enjoyed this! Thanks again for this video! :)
WOW AWESOME ! THANKS
Great views the Pacific Northwest is gods country safe travels russ
We're watching you see our town, North Bend and Coos Bay, as you approach to Virginia Ave. I'm in you my wife and I were saying stop stop turn left right there for Walmart. Let me watch to go over the bridge toward our home it was so funny. You do a real good job we enjoy your shows Paul in North Bend Oregon.❤
You found Walmart though, we go there all the time, the place is HUGE. Portland JUST LOST 2 Walmarts thanks to thieves!
Hope you visit the Eastern Shore and Chesapeake Bay - try some of their famous crab cakes and she-crab soup. See the wild horses on Chincoteague Island - once a year roundup and sale of ponies. I sure miss it. love, love, love your trips
Thank you Russ so much you help me see stuff I wish I could on my own but my stroke keeps from it thanks buddy
