    Im a french canadian and his grand father had the same last name then i have, he was called Charles Martel.

      Actually, the person in the video does give the correct pronunciation. The pronunciation you are using is the standard English version, which of course is used and recognised outside of France. But he was a Frankish king, so technically the way his own people (or those closest related) would pronounce the name is the correct way. So, while you are correct that people in the English-speaking world would pronounce it as "Shar-luh-main", the French pronunciation is the original and correct pronunciation for the part of the world where this king was from.
      In the end, both the French and English pronunciations are correct and used, but keep in mind that the English version is a derivative - it was derived from the Frankish/French written and spoken forms of the name through the process of anglicisation (the "making English" of something). The Frankish/French pronunciation was first; the English pronunciation came afterwards.

    Here in America we pronounce it: shar la mane. I've also heard British people pronounce it: shaw main. Which I think sounds incredibly silly.
