The amount of things you have to do to win *one* match as OOTD is unreal...
Yea, cause with other civs things you need to do are automatic
So these games are perfect for what I'm tryin to do...been a Rus main since day 1 of the game, but I'm tryin to expand to OOTD. These match-ups are perfect to study, so thanks bro!

2 pop slot for gilded units, the attack hit pointd and armour should be 2x than normal units
it should be more than 2, because u are giving up the ability to have 2 units being at 2 different places at once
Doesn't the Burgrave give better value than Regnitz when you can only get 2 relics?
Most of the times two relics is what you get, unlike HRE that can send early prelics, OOTD falls behind in relic gather, but relies on getting some since the gold you spend on units is quite high, so you need as much income as possible
He did mention something about that in his guide regarding OOTD a month ago, "If you get two relics, be happy..." Regnitz helps getting more value out of the few relics you get, giving you slightly more income for the whole game (unless you didn't get a single or just one relic, which would be tragic)
Burgrave is kind of bad from what I have experienced, because yes you save some resources producing infantry but you still need a substantial amount of gold, despite having discounts. And also, if the opponent goes mass range (cross bow/bow/siege, handcanoneer/siege) it renders Burgrave basically useless
@@the_unknown2024 But if you do the math, the Burgrave gives you the same value as ~3 relics when it produces constantly
@@agnosticpanda6655 true, but is only one building, and only produces infantry. OOTD matches tends to go to the late game very often, meaning you need more production buildings as the match goes
Additionally, nothing assures you that you will go for infantry during the match. If the game goes as long as late game, you will mostly see mass of ranged units and sieges. In those cases you will barely get to make infantry, as you did go for siege too, or ranged/cav from castle age on. In short, you get to use Burgrave until the opponent transitions to ranged/siege and then it loses its purpose
It's a similar case with the palace (forgot the name of the first landmark, the smith one) you get value from it if you use certain units, or until both opponents have the same upgrades, and then you don't have a landmark. For both it's a very situational case that depends on the opponent
@@agnosticpanda6655 that math only works if you don't value flexibility at all. The gold from relics can be spent on research, tech ups, or any unit. The resource discount on burgrave can only be spent on melee infantry. That flexibility has some value even if it's hard to quantify
@@agnosticpanda6655 Constantly and probably in most cases you can't build constantly gold units. Anytime you don't produce gold units from this building, the value drops down.
OOTD need some small discount on their units for balance 🎉🎉 after would be op
10 max, they can gather more resources than normal civs but they need time

Insane game to watch.. I wish I could play OOTD (I'm Diamond 1/2) but I just dont know how to utilise them with my style. It just feels impossible to create any reasonable mass of units to compete with other armies
Same here, I am plat mid but back to gold with ootd. I just feel lost and if I go for deer its risky but it feels like I lose if I don't
If I have money to play this game I prefer play Abbasid Ottoman. MALIAN China and Zhuxi
I found my best Strat with ootd was to go early horseman into archers when they go spears then age up behind it.
I still agree ootd just always feels like my army is too small and I get dented in during the mid game.

With ottd you see small army but is not what you see….you need always think is much stronger army and expensive 🎉🎉 i like ottd but is hard to master

i dont get ootd. whats even the appeal of this. every single thing that is different is bad apart from the archers
