- Ozzy Osbourne is back with the new studio album Patient Number 9! So let’s take a look at what is inside The Price of Darkness’ 13th studio record. We will take a track by track look at each song on Patient Number 9, including Immortal, No Escape From Now & Degradation Rules on which Ozzy Osbourne collaborated with Tony Iommi, One of Those Days and its controversy (feat. Eric Clapton), the songs with Jeff Beck, Mike McReady, and of course a detailed look at Parasite, Mr. Darkness, Nothing Feels Right and Evil Shuffle on which Ozzy once again joined forces with the guitarist Zakk Wylde.
And after we do that, let's hopefully answer the question of wether today in 2022, when Ozzy Osbourne is 73 new music by him is even relevant at all. Spoiler: YES!

00:39 - Track by track

The title track
Mr. Darkness - it is so addictive and so well put together.
Mr. Darkness for sure
Degradation Rules with Tony Iommi is my total favorite followed by the title track and third by the Mike McCready song. But I love all Zakk's songs too. I love it all
Title track, Parasite
This album simply kicks ASS! Yes every guest artist obviously contribute their energy to each song, but you can always hear that it's Ozzy Osbourne, even before he sings. Also I love that Ozzy picked up the harmonica again!
i don't Love it, it would have been good to have jake e lee on a Song.
I am SO thankful for this album. It shows this newer generation what The Metal is all about. Rock gods STILL delivering in a world of wimps!
U mean in a world of SIMPS.
HEHE.
🤘
Ozzy still rocks. What more can I say. This album proves it. Luv'd him since I was 13 now I'm 53 . Always have give his all live and on his albums. Bless u my prince of darkness. Xx
What a comeback, not one boring track. A lot of killer songs. One of his best albums for sure!
I've heard it's rubbish so it's interesting to hear your review 👍sounds ok
@@trapmafia4716 if you are expecting Blizzard of Ozz 2 then you will be disappointed ... but if you want to hear some cool Ozzy songs that are generic like those on everything since Down to Earth then check it out
Ozzy just appears, Comeback that's a Joke, Ozzy don't comeback. He is the Prince he just makes and appearance.
I look at this album as a good time, Ozzy is my idol so i was nervous...shouldn't have been he never fails. I can't wait for more. he's a god.
I'm SOOOO HAPPY! This album DOES NOT disappoint! 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🎶🎶🎶🎶🎶🎶😎
LOVE OZZY at ANY age and year!!!! Ozzy is timeless and Universal!!!! The legend, the GOAT!!!!! 🤘🏼🤘🏼🤘🏼
It's a very, very strong and interesting Ozzy album. The best in years and years. Highly suggest it. It's up there with his best stuff. Quite easily!
are you sure you listened to the right album?
If it's the new Ozzy record that came out yesterday then YES!
COPE
🤨🤔😒
you must of been born in 2000 and a new fan while i will say its better musicwise than ordinary man but that processed digitized ozzy voice is terrible the songs are NOT GOOD lol and sorry to say the 2 live performances he did he has never sounded that good live he has jumped on the LIPSYNC TRAIN BIG TIME you see it when he does paranoid with tony and during the riff he goes to talk at the crowd and nothing comes out ( ALL THAT ASIDE STILL ALL THE LOVE AND RESPECT TO OZZ ) but at this point he should leave the stage and enjoy his life he has NOTHING TO PROVE
The best stuff he's done since the 00's It's a strong straight-through listen, and just keeps growing on me. 🖤🖤🖤 How can anyone not love Ozzy!
doing my own OZZY video But not a review for #9.
Ozzy is great BUT i would have Loved to see / Hear Jake e Lee do something considering he had guest Guitarists on the album.
@@MetalHeart8787 Jake E. Lee wouldn’t want to work with him. Maybe learn a little bit of Ozzy history instead of whining.
@@christianverner4170 Jake has said he would if ozzy ever contacted him, ive been an Ozzy fan since 1986, Maybe learn about someone, before saying something stupid
This is one of my all-time favorite Ozzy albums I am 53 years old and I have a handful of favorites from Ozzy and this is definitely one of the albums 74 years old wow
Dead and gone was my favourite track on the whole album. Those harmonies in the chorus knocked me out! Great album
I also think it's one of his best albums in a long time. I love that he mixed it up with all these different artists too. That's just icing on the cake. He sounded great and actually sounded less flat that he has in the past 😎
I honestly think this is some of his strongest material ever! Crazy how good it is and Eric sounds best he has in years too!!
It is….conversation over 🤘😎
One more cool video, dude. Thanks for sharing your review with us. Greetings from Brazil.✌
I absolutely love this album & felt that all was right in the word hearing Ozzy sound like he was in his prime! The man is a legend, to sound this amazing at his age & with his recent health issues is truly inspiring. My favorite is Parasite, but the entire album is fantastic! Rock on & on Ozzy! 🤘
Good review, thanks a lot! I enjoyed listening to this album a lot. Gorgeous comeback from Ozzy.
I haven’t heard the album. Truthfully I didn’t even know he was working on a new album. But I am thrilled he is still kicking and rocking. He is rock royalty and we are blessed to receive his every offering 🤘🏽🤘🏽
It’s really good whole album is fantastic
So what are you waiting for? Check the album out!!
Title track is amazing. Profound lyrics and done in the standard emotional Ozzy voice. You can easily put it up there with any of the best solo Ozzy songs.
Even at 73 he's still rocking
Yeah, this sounds exactly what you would expect from Ozzy. Nothing new or groundbreaking, but an amazing album for a 73 old man. Fans will certainly enjoy this
Just loving this Ozzy work..scintillating guitar work throughout!!!
thanks for the preview - seems it's lived up to the hype, a very interesting record :-)
I love the album. I love your review too. You give such a very detailed review that is so detailed. I appreciate that. My personal favorite is the excellent song that is a collaboration with Tony Iommi, "Degradation Rules", a true heavy duty, doomy classic, like a modern Black Sabbath song, followed closely by second favorite, the title track. But I love them all. The Mike McCready song was surprisingly my third favorite. Everything is great though. I also did like "Ordinary Man" a lot too.
Great details and review.
FANTASTIC REVIEW. I COULDN'T SAY IT BETTER THAN MYSELF
Great review - GREAT album!
I love the new album! It's not his best ever, but I really wasn't expecting it to be at this point, and I'm really enjoying it.
to me its his best yet, I even like it more than No More Tears and Ozzmosis
@@theantitryhard5703 That's great! :D Of course it's always a matter of personal taste. But for me it's definitely an album that grows on me with each listen, and I'm very happy with it :-)
The musicians on this album and the album before are some of the most outstanding music makers he has had for a long time. The last 2 albums imo are very good.
I like the idea of all these cameo's on the album I just have go out and see if I can find a copy!
Only heard 3 tracks from this..so glad to see ozzy can still do it.. look forward to give whole album
I love this album! Loved all the guest guitarists too!
Absolutely love the album. I love the uniqueness of all the guitarist. I don't care what anyone says but it's his best in a long time in my opinion.
Agreed, it is solid technically and musically. It is ok that is different sounding but the mellower, bluesy and rock sound good fused together.
Bravo Ozzy!!!! A great album with great collaborations.
I’d say after listening this weekend that it the best since No More Tears
Ozzys always worth it….never say his creations are not worth it…Damn right it’s worth it ozzy is a rock legend..and always will be.!! Ozzy is awsome, incredible talent for years..I’m 55 still rocking out with him..🤘🤘🤘🤘
I get what you are saying. I myself will turn 65 next month and I still listen to solo Ozzy and original Black Sabbath line up regularly. The 1st song I ever heard by Sabbath was Iron Man when I was a teenager and my mind was blown. Love those guys to this day!
I really like how much time you spent going through each song.
One thing I found interesting is that it features both Eric Clapton and Jeff Beck. Both of them were predecessors to Black Sabbath in the history of Heavy Metal. “Beck-Ola” by Jeff Beck and pretty much all of Cream’s stuff are a huge part of the development of Metal prior to Sabbath’s first album and were likely an early influence on them.
Neat. 🤘🤓
Love the album. Ozzys been a massive part of mine and my family’s life with my grandad seeing sabbath in the 70s and him bringing up his kids with Ozzy and with my mom and my dad showing me Ozzy as a kid and seeing the old Ozzy music videos such as bark at the moon. Ozzys music has been such a major part of my life with all the highs and lows and his guitar players being a major influence on my guitar playing. But yeah, the album is great and ozzys voice is the best it’s sounded in so many years and I can’t wait to see Ozzy, zakk and the gang for the first time in June
listened to the whole album yuesterday, bough it today, will listen to ito for next 100 years....
Ozzy will out live us all at this point
I love Ozzy's new album, I have been listening to Black Sabbath and later Ozzy since 1973. He always has and still does kick ass!
I hope there will be more albums. I love this one.
Ozzy kicks ass always has and will till the wheels fall off! 50 yrs in rock and roll 74 yrs old and yet better then most of the new artists out now! Keep rocking ozzy
Just got my new LP Album in the mail today. The cover looks great. These songs are great! I want to open my new record but its supposed to be a collectors.
Great Album with excellent collaborations. Hope to hear them live……
Awesome album, and this coming from someone who rarely likes any new releases from my favorite artist from the 80s and 90s. Great songwriting, great texts and earworm melodies, plus all the interesting guest appearances. And it sounds great too.
album us amazing i love it, its so many feels for me
I’m a long time Ozzy fan and I LOVE this new album! It’s one of his best, possibly THE best, he’s ever done.
This album kicks ass,The Riffmaster Iommi and Ozzy back together 🔥🤘
The album is fantastic. Parasite is my favorite but damn, the whole album is so good!
Totally hooked on Patient #9 but I'm starting to warm to several others.. Dear Mr Darkness, no escape from now, etc.. One of those days is so catchy.. lol all together I love it!
Degradation Rules is an absolute banger too.
Ozzy working with two former The Yardbirds guitarist on the album Jeff Beck & Eric Clapton. Instead of music samplers so called "music artist" like he's last album. I have to get to Music store ASAP and buy and listen
Brilliant - one of the better Ozzy's albums. May he publish dozens more !
It's so great, his song writing is back!
I like this album. Classical Ozzy from the past... from my childhood
Hey for me I love this New Ozzys Album!!
It's easily in my top 5 Ozzy albums!
you're easily pleased, it's shite
@@neilbower9052 ok lol
He's only had 13 studio albums it's easily in the top five agreed
Are you high?
Hell yeah!! 🤘🤘
Loving this new album.
I love this album. The song "nothing feels right" is crazy good! No, it's not metal but an interview with Ozzy and Sharon reveals that Ozzy knew exactly what he was doing, and worried that there may be too many harmonics. But in Ozzy fashion, he said "fuck it I am doing it".
Nothing Feels Right is probably one of my favorite Ozzy songs. Very Ozzmosis-ish and it was the the albums Running Out of Time.
I love them all but "Dead And Gone" is a overlooked title which is now maybe even my favorite one
I listened to the whole album just today and as an old school fan I can say it is a very good album. All songs were worth listening.
This album is great I love it front to back it's been repeating on Spotify since it was released! No escape from now was my first favorite track Mr. Darkness is my main favorite but like I said I could play it all day front to back just sometimes the favorite songs get restarted and double played thru one cycle of playing the album.
Patient #9 is a GREAT album. One of his best in years. Not one bad track on it.
Absolutely love this album. Immortal is the first track on the US vinyl where Patient Number 9 is the first track on cd and digital.
Great review! I'm with your county and peoples terribly difficult times. I'd better help some with the winning effort.
Excellent Album.....Love it ....Kicks Ass
It’s a solid album. Forget about age, and just feel it
We love you all !!!
Ozzy
No escape from now is so badass it's just what I needed in my life right now.🤘
Zakk on nothing feels right...Holy shit the solo gave me goosebumps!!
By far the best solo on the album!.
Very fast
Looks like I will be buying this album.
it is worth it. IT'S OZZY
Great album Ozzy will always be getting it great metal album rock on prince of darkness 🤟🤟🤟👋👋🙏🙏👍👍
I heard all the artists including Ozzy on serius xm Friday talk about the album I couldn't understand much Ozzy bless his heart.
I love this album 🤘
I was pleasantly surprised by the album.
With Ozzy's age and his well publicized health issues this album is really good.
It actually really is great by about the 3rd listen through as you adjust to the new material.
The featured guitarist were a treat as well and the inclusion of Eric Clapton was one I would have never guessed this pairing and it is one of my favorite tracks off the album.
The Queen may have died but the UK still gives us the Prince of Darkness!
If you like OZZY and his style of music you should enjoy this new album, it is pretty much classic Ozzy!
🤘🏼 *Ozzy is great; but, I'm still a bit skeptical about this album. Keeping an open mind.* 🤘🏼
It's a banging record. Every song is exceptionally strong and catchy! Brilliant
Dead and Gone is my favourite on it
not overshadowed by a great guitarist, just a great song
Patient Number 9 is ozzys best album of the 21st century. At 73 I’d say he deserves to lip sync to keep his shows going I have no problem with that. We should be considered lucky to witness this man still going when he should’ve died decades ago. Ozzy is the greatest rock n roller alive or dead, and I bet he’ll keep that title well after he’s gone. I hope we can get another album from him before then
That's right!
Ozzy can do anything he wants... He won't be around much longer... He is loved by his fans.
More like Ozzy will do whatever that ʇunɔ wife of his tells him to do.
OZZY RULES!!!!!!
Patient #9 has my vote
Young Metal Bands: This Is Real Metal.
No Rest For The Wicked is my favorite Ozzy album,!
Eric Clapton song is definitely one of the peaks of this album. I also loved the collab with Tony Iommi. OTOH I'm tired of Wylde/Osbourne stuff, it's like listening to one album all over again.
And yes, having the best single as an opening track definitely help. I don't understand why Megadeth totally buried their best best single We'll Be Back as the last song on the new album.
Yeah zakk needs to lay off those squeals inbetween everything they are so annoying.
New music from an icon. I'm privileged
I love what Beck did in P9
After listening to Patient No.9, I re-listened Ozzy's discography and discovered No Ordinary Man, which I had completely ignored. I have to say that, at least in my ears, these last two album of his are his absolute best!
Both are great albums but definitely not the best, Blizzard and Diary will always be the best.
The Beltway Bandits Mat 👍🪘🪘
I haven’t went out of my way to give it a full listen yet but what I have heard has amazed me, and the sheer fact that Jeff Beck RIP appears on the album is legendary. so I say it’s safe to say that he over delivered. He still METAL. More metal than anyone of us critiquing is he still relevant
From what Ive heard of the album its pretty good.
Great video, the one thing about this particular album is, it's for his fans. The rockers he has playing on it, Zakk is still strumming out the hard rock guitar. Ozzy shouldn't try to grab a younger audience, Metal is on a comeback, especially to young musicians....it's all they want to play. I'll check out some more of your videos. Thx for not going with the mob.....
Does nobody, but me remember that Darkside Blues was originally released as a Japanese bonus track for Ordinary Man?
Let's Go Ozzy
\m/ \m/
Last album he did that I liked every song was No More Tears.
Could it be there's a song missing...the second song ft. Jeff Beck "6. A thousand Shades"? Love the new Ozzy album!
OMG, did I miss it???? 🤦♂️🤦♂️🤦♂️ I recorded a review of it for sure
Before you start; I hear you folks have a bit of a surplus of POW's. Can I borrow a few? I have some chores around the house, and they seem to be good with plumbing and carrying washing machines...
Or in other words: congratulations on giveng the ruzzians a big bloody nose.
Haha, thanks, my friend!
Cant believe I sti haven't listened to this album yet. Need to remedy this
