This tiny, slipper-shaped protozoan is common in lakes, ponds and puddles. It moves constantly and speeds along by beating rows of microscopic hairs, called cilia, which work like miniature oars. Paramecium feeds on bacteria and other micro-organisms. It collects its food by sweeping it into a groove-shaped mouth.
I could literally watch these little guys under a microscope for hours.
They are so cute
It can make you sick hurray 🥂
You need to add classical music.
The first time I heard of paramecia was in a season 1 episode of The Cat in the Hat Knows a Lot About That.
how can a microscopic one cell be as complex as this?
No brain or nervous system and it is still smarter than some people.
Robert Shackleferd ahhahah so true
The more you have neurons, the bigger is the number of stupidities you can believe and assert.. Eventually you can even feel to be "superior"!
Robert Shackleferd cough flat-earthers cough
i played driftveil city over this, it fits.
paramecium are great to watch i love them but im glad were moving off of the cell subject in class finally after the christmas break
Fascinating!
Imagine how fuzzy these are
A few times in the video I see a paramecium or more, but most of the time, it looks like the camera is just following one mecuim...
It's not "pair of mecuims" it's "paramecium" which means they're handicapped
Furlog Giant
***** Yes, very punny
***** you're kidding (rolling eyes)
1:26 something interesting was happening on the court but cameraman just doesn't care and keeps following the hot chicks on the tribune
what was happening?
Can't tell if this is creepy or relaxing.
Great video 👍 thank you
Adbhutam... great job ser.
Im supposed to watch this for 13 minutes
I love looking at paramecium. I found one today that was full green on 400x, and sort of "twisted" around like a snake. Was very weird.

Is it difficult for these creatures to navigate their environment when they're not squeezed between the two glass sheets under the microscope??
super
Maravilhoso!!!
Realmente maravilhoso..parabéns 😤...
Nice video
ok, thank you.
paramecium looks like beautiful magical thing from harmi
Cell is more complex than earth's economy. How come that supposedly "intelligent" and "educated' people fail to recognize creation patterns? How do they even function at all with such a primitive brain?
super video mit welchen mikroskop aufgenommen
Sehr geehrter Herr Ondrak,
Viele Grüße
patrick: "This paramecium?"
Do you think paramecium can live in our guts? Or in the guts of dogs?
aww so cute.
wow.superb vedios.
What microscope are you using and what is the magnification power please?
Ap. 0,65 LOMO. Die Aufnahmen wurden mit einer Selbstbau DIK Einrichtung gemacht.
wow!
cute baby🥺
good
It run very fast

hello sir i am new to this microscopic world i want to explore more so i am interested in buying a microscope so can you please suggest me with one with specifications
a compose micro will be useful... go for a leica... watch it at 40x... no oil needed...
thanks for the tip sir
+Kevin Winston racist bitch
Is it real
What is the magnification of the scope?
Objektiv : 40X num.A.0.65
+Vinzenz Ondrak my school uses 400x power
+Sandhya Kandadai 4OOx is total power, 4Ox of objective and 1OX of eyepiece, 4Ox1O is 4OO :)
Seperti lumut
What is the creature at 1:26? I know it's not a paramecium, but it looks really cool!
it is a Rotifer: Philodena.
+Greg Lewis Thank you! Sorry this is so late LOL
@@tantra1954 thanks ...
Hay😆😆😆
Here from IB world me
so how do i kill them? i have a spirulina culture maintained at 9.5pH there is paramecium in it
anyone got any bright ideas?
+Brian Karkada Iodine kills them, as well as a few other dye like substances, probably not too helpful for the situation. But good to know for future heads up!
+Billie Ciotti Hi billie thanks for you reply. But iodine might also kill the spirulina. I use ammonia 25% at a very low concentration it eventually becomes toxic to the paramecia and also others like euglena. Are you into cultivating spirulina too?
+Brian Karkada: SledgeHammer -
*watches fascinating video on them*
*asks "How do I kill them?*
NO
What ajg?
