U can do something for the amethyst quest if u got bad luck at start and u are not with good equipment, tame a hawk and fly towards the amethyst, then u will have the quest done and in the other day u wont have to worry about it and u will be able to get equipment for killing a dragon
There was this one time where I went AFK at the cave in the winter, and a baby dragon managed to track me down, he pushed me outside where I was within range of the blizzard, and I froze to death. Nah, I was just kidding.
