- A fisherman from the Sea of Galilee has his world disrupted when he meets Jesus. Immediately Jesus changes his name from Simon to Peter, meaning “Rock.” But Peter doesn’t understand why. The answer would be revealed over the next few years.

I lived in Jerusalem for 4 months last year (2020) and lucked out by stumbling above Ein Karem. While wandering around the tiny artist-like town down in a pretty valley- I learned that is where John the Baptist was born. The area is where Zachariah and Elizabeth would have lived and where Mary visited her cousin. There is a gorgeous church there called Church of Visitation. Thank you for sharing with us✝️☦️🙏🔯✡️

The building is not the church. The followers of Jesus make up what's called the church. What you saw was a building in which the "church" met.

Tabitha, When she died, the widows of her community mourned her and sent urgently for Peter (Acts 9:38), who was in nearby Lydda. As evidence of her charity, they showed him some of the clothes she had sewn, and according to the biblical account he raised her from the dead.
Such a great episode and ultimately reminds me to point to Jesus Christ. Luke 5:8 where Peter says he is unworthy and stated it again when he was crucified upside down to not be crucified like his master. Excited for the whole series. Amen

Peter was supposed to have been given the keys of THE KINGDOM which Jesus was supposed to establish in Israel.But it did not happen and Paul was given the ministry of the grace gospel to the Gentiles and all those wno believed in the Gospel of the death,burial and resurrectiom of Jesus.lSo do not confuse the kingdom(Peter) with the Body of Christ the Church)(Paul).

But everything's we know of Roman torture and crucifixion. It wasn't pleasant. So in order for God the father to forgive our sins. Which is transgression of his moral law the ten commandments. He has to punish us because all of us have a sinful nature. So Jesus came and paid that price for all mankind. Now when man sinned God already knew we would. So he already laid out his plan of salvation in the garden of eden. So Jesus being the creator of all things even us show his love by dieing the death we should die. So that we can live forever with his him through his righteousness. We cannot live a life of righteousness without fully understanding that we are sinful and in need of salvation. God bless! He is coming very soon to fulfill his promise too his believers.
I've studied and researched the life of St. Paul; written two books. This is, I'll bet, going to be a fascinating series. So much to learn just from this clip. Interesting to see if I can draw parallels between St. Paul and St. Peter.

I always wondered what tribe Peter belonged to?
Judah? He was not a Levite but was a Galilean.
I'm in the pursuit of Peter's will I think hes back from the dead in different body of course. There's a time limit on resurrections. The disciples ate the bread of Jesus he said it was his flush and live forever. Recognition must be real I think Jesus disciples are back from the dead in different forms. Jesus Christ will not be recarnated. Because he was resurrected Jesus went back to heaven and his body. He'll come from the sky in cloud of dust and show you he real. The world will see him in the form they imagine he'll be. I need Paul to find me. We have preparations you're not crazy my brother. Jesus will tell you to find my messages when it's time. This message is for Paul and enlightened the believers minds God-bless Jesus is coming soon. Enjoy your life and help your neighbors Make sure no one is hungry around the world. I think Peter means Petros which mean stone and not rock. Because if it means rock as you said, he wouldn't have behaved the way he did in the book of Galatians where Paul had to rebuke him for his inconsistence behavior towards gentiles.
Simon means angry ...viotole... turbulent The Lord changed it to Cephas which means Rock

Simon Peter wasn't as good in school as his brother, and he might not have gone as far, but it's probably a leap to think he was completely uneducated. He was probably undereducated, compared with his brother, who was highly educated.

I've watched also your video about your pursuit for Apostle Paul. That was a very nouble pursuit you had indeed as you literally followed Paul's trails. Well I guess it helped a lot when those trails were undeniably clear in Biblical history but as regards to Peter? the best you could do is just talk about what traditions widely inspired & no valid trails could back up simply because he didn't travel to Rome, even more became a Pope, otherwise, Paul could have talked about him who by the way spoke only in Aramaic, hence run short in becoming a Pope. The early Church fathers introduced a misinterpretation of the what so called petras calling it rock instead of a pebble. Because Jesus being the rejected corner stone was actually the rock Himself and so He being the builder of His Church is the foundation Hinself, not Peter. Anyway, it was never Peter's fault at all as he among other faithful apostles became our inspiration as we read his epistles of truth but the fault was from people who forced their preconceive ideas as to how God should work. We have to let the word of God speak for itself alone and not to what people wants to enforce. God bless you brother.

After an overnight toil at the sea of Gallilee and have not caught anything then the Lord Jesus Christ is standing on the shore calling on them asking if they have caught anything Peter replied none, thed Lord said cast your net on your right, then Peter the fisherman cast the net and they caught a net full of fishes that their net is about to break then when they came ashore he put them all in the feet of our Lord Jesus Christ then Jesus said come follow Me and ill make you Fisher of Men!
