The best tutorial video for Nextcloud on CasaOs.
Please, create more videos for the apps of CasaOs.
Thanks !
Thanks for the feedback, I do have more planned. Appreciate it.
nice video Mike! Thank you
Thanks for the feedback!
Thank you for the step by step Mike. If I wanted to share a folder from nextcloud to someone not on my home network, how would I go about doing that?
Look into Tailscale. The easiest and best VPN.
Hi! Hoping you can point me in the right direction here, i have a Zimaboard and honestly im totally new to this. I have bought a PCIE to NVME adapter and installed a 1TB NVME drive which i have formatted and created as per your video. When it came to setting up Nextcloud, and going into the 3 dots for settings i couldn't locate the NVME storage drive. Is this because the nvme drive and the onboard is looked at as one whole drive so there is nothing to select? How does this work when it comes to backing up if i just wanted it to fill up the NVME drive and not the onboard storage? Thanks for you time.
It sounds like you meted the storage in the storage manager which is exactly what it is supposed to do. I am not sure how separate the storage unless you reset it. I will have to look a bit deeper into this as this a beta feature.
@@MikeFaucher Thanks for looking into it, i've managed to locate the drive as it was set in MNT which i wasn't aware of so im able to set nextcloud to the correct storage location now. My next issue is security warnings telling me im accessing site insecurely via http and advised to setup my server to require HTTPS instead. Is this something i would need to install on Debian or CasOS? I didn't see it pop up on your tutorial so it took me by surprise. Also i have connected my Zimaboard upto my Router which is running on a mesh network if that helps?
@@MikeFaucher Okay so i got a little further tonight by installing Tailscale so i can remote access into my CasaOS on my zimaboard. I would be super greatful if you could make a guide on how to setup Nextcloud for remote access using Tailscale to setup the HTTPS, SSL certs etc. I've done the port forwarding already, im on a mesh network using a third party router system from TP link so its quite easy to access and do all through my phones app.
Is there a point to using Nextcloud if you already use a QNAP NAS?
Not for internal use, QNAP has a Qsync program that is pretty good, but if you want something that is more multi-platform or you do not have a NAS unit, it is good solution with more customizability. Great question.
Mike i have a question! I tried looking for the config.php file and i can’t find it. Is this because during installation i only set it up for http and not https?
When i try to connect to nextcloud on my mobile for instance thats not connected to my local network, i get a message saying untrusted domain and to add trusted domain to the config.php file. How do i do this? Thanks
You have to be connected to a VPN such as Tailscale.
Correct, it is setup for local access. You have to use a VPN such as Tailscale to access the files remotely.
@@MikeFaucher I've got it all setup, it works as it should. I simply didn't add the trusted domains to the config.php file which in my case was located under mnt folder. Making sure to add both the CasaOS trusted domain and the client you are accessing it from i.e. your iphone or your pc which if you watch other videos it shows you how to add them to tailscale. Once that was done, it all worked flawlessly.
Mike, i know you're busy but if you get time can you do a video on how to add more local storage? If i was to add another 1tb nvme drive or another 1tb Sata SSD, what are the steps to get this setup correctly? Thank you.
@@minibotpc Thanks for the feedback. I will add it to my list. Thanks.
so the hardware and os are both chinese. does that raise any concerns?
Everything raises concerns but mostly the OS. I block all communications outside the US and so far it has behaved, but it is always health to be concerned. Great point.
Useless tutorial
Thanks for the feedback.
