Doc, we once had a similar piece of property in our family. My Great Aunt Rose Benton lived on the land that my maternal grandparents claimed in the great land rush back in 1786. Where Levy Benton and his brother literally put stakes in the ground to claim their land. Many similar buildings were on that piece of property in the Berea Community. Lots of great memories growing up and visiting Aunt Rose on that farm.

You should throw some rows on big bluestem in there along the perimeter, really causes the smaller animals and birds to come in and makes grazing animals feel safe.

Those flowers beside you in the intro are called spider lilies or hurricane lilies. They will pop out of the ground almost overnight after a hard rain in late August-September. You will see them a lot around really old farmhouses.

It's a shame that the property has fallen into disrepair. It would be nice to see it all cleaned up.

Biltmore Estate was built in the late 1800s without all the modern power tools too. I think it took several years to build it.

Could you please do a video comparing and explaining the best soil amendments to use. I just built a house and the final grade was done with what we call in Arkansas “city pit” which is a mixture of fines and very very poor soil. Why and when would I use Biochar, Dirtbooster, HumicDG, Humichar, etc…. I have had a soil test done and I know what elements I need to add but I am confused on all the differences between the soil amendments and what is best. Thank you and keep all the great videos coming.
