he lowkey doesn't need to cus he's such a witty and smart writer for his raps in btob songs, and his members are crazy amazing vocalists, but I appreciate he's now even gonna participate in the singing.
He also mentioned he barely listens to the lyrics and mostly the beats, but I was so shook when he said that cus I am absolutely obsessed with his rap writings. He mentions pop culture references, has emotional lyrics, and super smart rhymes that all also make sense as a whole without random English words, and still manages to make it so top-tier perfectly meaningfully relevant to their songs, which are mostly ballads. Hard to see in kpop personally. Keep up the amazing work bro!! His raps are one of the reasons I am a melody!

There are a lot of underrated kpop artists in Korea but great thing is that some of them are getting much support from international fans.. being relevant in kpop nowadays ain't just a matter of charting in Korea alone but also having support globally

I have so much love and respect for get real and dive. Get real really feels like I’m hearing a conversation of my friends talking to each other and I’m a part of it. I love how authentic and honest y’all can be, and how easygoing the conversations are. Thank you for making so many of our weeks better and I hope to keep seeing and hearing y’all talk more and more in the future. 51:31 about what Peniel mentioned there, is more like the music become associated with work, so you don’t wanna spend your leisure time with something that associated with the stress that you face every day (work, for example). So, I guess the music in this topic means something that already conditioned to work. So, you dont want a ‘work’ vibe in your chill time.
48:09 i dont know about the sound, or at least majority’s preferences, but I guess, there will be people that need songs that kinda relate to them, that hit their emotions and feelings more than the sensation the got from the sensory systems. There will be a time when people couldn’t afford to pay to professional help for mental health problem, and sometimes they got a bit of help from the songs that can describe or represent or reflect their feelings. So I think, vocals and lyrics can survive in the future.

Everything that they discussed were correct though. I knew a lot of new artist while watching Dive Studios and since then I followed their music very closely. Most of them are not really known in SK but internationally they are so famous! I hope the music industry in SK paying more attention to these artist or else they will lose these hidden gem. I know that some artist has already move out from SK and building their career 100% outside SK.

Really interesting convo! I don’t think anything is going to disappear from music perse - i think with the incredible accessibility of music these days, trends will become less relevant and everyone will be able to find exactly the kind of music they like. That’s already looking to be true honestly? There’s lots of artists who are popular in their own community niches. Everything is evolving veryyyy fast and at some point I think liking certain genres will lose their personality/age group connotations, everyone will just be enjoying their own taste + style. I think the same for fashion too, especially in the pandemic with everyone trying different aesthetics like regency, cottage core, academia, maximalism, minimalism etc all coexisting and being popular in their own right :) just some thoughts from someone not in the industry

I love Harry's theories and thoughts. Music with no vocalists is interesting take. For me, Vocalists are an instrument too. I have pretty poor audio comprehension. I have a difficult time "hearing" and processing lyrics even in English. But I like the sound of it. Think that's part why I'm so attracted to Korean music. I don't have an expectation to understand the words, I just enjoy the sound. The music.
I love a song with a story or message, a song that draws you in with great lyrics, great memorable melody, rhythm and beat, the genre isn't vital. All of these attributes make a great and memorable song/music and I am a year off 70yrs old and experienced listening to every type of music. My youthful yrs was filled either The Beatles, Pink Floyd, Led Zeppelin, Fleetwood Mac, Jethro Tull, Supertramp etc The Who, then Metallica, Linkin Park, Love reggae, Rob Thomas, Cold Play so many many more that inspired (I'm a writer of rhymes, lyrics, fun raps (yes they do rhyme perfectly, I belonged to a writers club for many years) Then I hit a writers block slump until I discovered Kpop, how you may ask? It was after WATCHING "You're Beautiful" when we were finally able to get Netflix. After watching that drama I was curious about the musicians and discovered Kpop and it has filled my dull days with so much enjoyment, energy and inspiration to paint, write and live more fully. Still not sure what to do with all my 53 yrs of writing, which I'm told is good enough publish and /or put to music. Maybe I'm just forgot to age mentally! I really can't handle this ageism thinking , just because we've aged doesn't mean we can't keep up with modern trends lol "The Poetic Rowan" Best wishes from Australia

47:43 on this specifically I think title tracks and songs that chart will probably have little to no meaning in the future (some already do now) but as someone who listens to a lot of music and part of many fandoms typically among fandoms the songs with meaning (especially the artist's personal message) tend to be the favorites
Also those that don't just casually listen to music but are generally very interested in it tend to attach themselves and gravitate towards songs with meaning
So no I don't think the future of music will have little meaning also I know so many people that can't stand "sound" music
