Very well said . My father was a lawyer and we did have a financial crunch sometimes when we were going to school, but academics was always his first priority. His purse and bank pass books were kept open on his table. I joined the corporate world to soon become a top executive. My son when he was a kid , once asked for a very costly video game but I refused it . I heard his grandmother explain to him very nicely, that your father is rich but saves money to fund your education abroad. He will not cringe on your IIT or CAT coach ing class. Time flew . My son did go abroad not only for graduation but also his MBA on scholarship. I used my funds to top it up some times. Today he is a US citizen working in a top corporate in a senior position in the US. A few days back he recalled the incident very lovingly and I was shocked at the impact it had made.😢😢
In majority of the situations, real rich will never depend upon selling the portfolio for living expenses .they always have multiple income streams and may use dividends of the stock. thank you for the video
Just a thought about selling assets is similar to dividends. Dividends can be 1%+ but taxed upto 30% Systematic withdrawal of the same 1%+ is taxed as low as 10% This seems to make more sense to me under the assumption that portfolio growth is higher than withdrawal rate.
