Marco van Staden Performance vs Australia | The Rugby Championship 2023

Marco van Staden was another one of the unsung heroes for the boks in the South Africa vs Australia game of The Rugby Championship. He was amazing in all facets of the game but was particularly impressive with ball in hand where he had some storming runs and got over the advantage line every single time he touched the ball. He was also amazing on defence where he got a turnover and was rock solid with his tackles.
It was also interesting how South Africa used him and was very different than how they use Siya Kolisi, so it was good to see the coaches being able to utilize players in different roles which is another good sign for the World Cup.
If Marco continues this form then it would be hard to not pick him for the World Cup squad.

100% right. Esterhuizen is a great player, and I was very happy to see him finally show it at international level. I was a big fan of his while he was at the Sharks in Durban, and if he finds his feet for the Boks I think he has more to offer than De Allende. Both are big physical runners and good defenders, but Esterhuizen actually has a very big kick from open play (left foot which can be useful), and has a better offload game, so potentially he can bring more nuance to the 12 position. But certainly 2 great options at 12 for the Boks.

I'm redoing his video. My other video got a false strike, but I filed a counter notification and have to wait 10 days for it to be back up. It was an Aussie company who made the strike, which didn't surprise me. But yeah redoing the video, I also thought he had an amazing game.

Love your work. Don't always agree but can never deny the validity of your opinions based on the evidence. In my view you should have 10 times the number of subscribers - I think it's only a matter of time.

It's always fun making videos, appreciate the support. Refereeing is a difficult job, so there's always going to be incidents to argue/debate about. All I want is an open discussion about the state of officiating and the massive increase in red cards that is negative to the growth of rugby. Once we can start to have those, then the relationship of fans and referees would be much healthier than it is now.
