All those three buttons do is load configuration settings for particular battery types. This does not reset the BMS to factory settings, it is simply a shortcut to configure specific battery types. If you notice, your cycle count is not reset. The BMS is not reset to factory settings.
@@casondave That old series of JK BMS cannot be reset to factory settings by a user. A true "Reset to Factory Settings" would set all passwords to original, as well as cycle count and total run time. The newer series of JK BMS (commonly referred to as "Inverter BMS") can be reset to factory settings by user and also can have the firmware updated by a user.
I've been testing that JK BMS with the 2 amp active balancer and have discovered that you want to set the balancer to come on where you set your cells to stop charging..I charge my cells to 3.45 and the balancer to the same, the system runs far better that way, I get more capacity and the balancer isn't fighting the charging and discharging cycles..If you have a boat, or need faster charging, 3.55 would probably be better..
Hello. Do you have a video with programing victron components with jkbms. I have 280ah battery with jk BMS Victron smartshunt Bluesolar 100/50 Raspberry pi Venus os I have a problem with lost connection of the BMS with victron and the smartshunt show 100% most of the time. Thanks
Can you, or any of your followers tell me how to recover, or reset a lost bluetooth password? I'm at my wits end trying to get any support from either JK or Hankzor. I understand there's a code that works for 15 or 20 minutes or something like that but I can't find support anywhere. I can't believe there's not some sort of button sequence or other hardware solution to this. I'd just like a hard reset to default settings and passwords.
Those preset buttons on the jkbms are dangerous, because you need the same password for the controls but the inexperienced user can also change the presets, for instance you can ruin a LiFePo4 battery with the li-ion preset button because the charge voltage is not the same (3.6 vs 4.2vdc) if the user is unaware of this, the battery can be destroys unintentionally. These preset buttons should be taken out of the app all together, much safer that the user puts their own settings in and fix that behind a password so that no other can change these settings.
Quality of chineese apps is absolute shitty. No matter if it is BMS, video surveillance camera or smoke detector. Absolute bad design, half developed, then abandoned.
My jk bms don't show correct percentage and remaining capacity of battery. At full charge it shows 100% but after 90% battery. It show 0. I emailed jk bms company and they said: The first step is to set the battery capacity first. The capacity of the battery can be set to the original capacity. It can be set slightly larger. For example, if the battery capacity is 100AH, it can be set to 120AH or 150AH. The second step is to discharge the battery through the discharge meter, discharge the battery completely, and put it on the protection board to prompt the undervoltage protection of the single unit. The third step is to charge the battery. Do not stop charging when charging, and keep charging until the protection board prompts the overvoltage protection of the monomer. After completing the above steps, the capacity will be automatically updated. The APP battery capacity shows the actual capacity of the battery. At this time, the SOC is also accurate, and everything related to the capacity is accurate. My battery is 72v 49Ah. 24 cells. So I discharged to 0. Change its capacity to 70Ah. Now it's working right but when my battery get zero. Jk bms still show 20%. Please help.
Problem is 1 of 4 bms follows the voltage of the others but AMPS are always at 0.0 In other words, even if it is set to discharge, it does not. Anyone with this problem? Turning charge and discharge on and off has no effect.

Yes, but you need to contact the company you bought it from. They should be able to give you a temporary code that is valid for about 30 minutes that you enter when asked for the password. I managed to reset two BMSs with the same code at the same time. Just need to make sure you can receive their reply and get to the BMS within the allocated time. Once the temp code lets you in change your password to the default 123456 or something you won't forget! Hope that helps
I added a second battery and therefore another BMS yesterday. I setup the new BMS, changing both the pairing password and the settings password. Now I can't access my first BMS, tried the default passwords (1234 & 123456), and all my usual numerical passwords, all I get is Make a pair failed. How does this temporary password work? They can't access the BMS remotely, and given the time in China and the UK I'm likely unable to access the BMS within 30 minutes of them setting it up. I think they are probably preprogrammed, did they require your serial number?
@@DavidPrue thanks for the reply, but I went through the pain of getting a temporary password from JK months ago, although if it works it may be useful to someone else. I tried loads of different ways at the time.
