I have not checked out the channel in a bit, WOW! The combinatio of gear, the visual presentation, and most importantly the music all continue to impress!
Man you have been a great inspiration to me for quit some time now! Was finally able afford the last component to my own little dawless setup now and am working on a live set now! Keep the good stuff comming!
I just saw your note about the BLOFELD ARP SYNCH issue, i have the same problem!!! I thought it was me and my hardware, although i never found anyone else state this. Such a shame, as i love the Blofeld, although better for playing over the top rather than sequenced, in my humble opinion.
Yes its a known issue it seems, something to do with MIDI timing. :/ However, as you say it can be used in many other ways, for me however this was one of the main use cases so it bums me out a bit.. hehe :D sub37 does the job well, i will keep the blofeld in the case for a while and think about how it can be used in the future.
Another awesome track, lots of really gorgeous sounds and patterns. I think there’s a timing bug with the Blofeld over midi which explains why you’ve had arpeggiator problems. For arpeggiators check out the Arpie on Tindie, amazing little thing and great support. It’s usually a diy kit but you can get them pre-built. Well worth a look :-)
Thanks a lot! On the blofeld, yeah i read up on that and it is a bit annoying.. not sure if I will pursue using the blofeld in the same way going forward. The arpie however made me intrigued, thanks for the tip, i need to check that one out! peace!
Great track, thank you, almost forgot to buy your new album! Very nice how you look like a keyboarder (on the left side of your studio), and like an engineer fiddling tiny knobs on the right. :-)
Awesome job brother. Really respect what you are able to do it your space. Looks like you have taken a lot of time, as have I, mapping and planning where to put things for the most efficient workflow. Built my entire setup myself (DarkShipEnterprize) and I love to see others enjoying their gear as well
oh yes......new gear lol. I know it well haha. I have quite a few myself. I have been posting vids for about 3 mnths now and im learning a ton. You can see the entire station that I built in my garage, then transported to my plastic lined basement. Its 5 individually built 5' desks all combined into a huge 25' horseshoe. Feels like im piloting a spaceship and I love being surrounded by all the best gear. Prophets, EleKtrons, rackmounts and i use Push2 and Live for Looping along with the Mpc X
You can’t beat new gear for that extra creative push! Your setup is very nice, looks like a lot of time went into it. My stuff is crammed into a small roof space, I like to start it all running and switch the lights off for that true spaceship vibe :-)
it is great fun! I have just barely scratched the surface of what it can do.. right now i am sort of just using it as a TR8 replacement. Once i get some time ill deep dive into its features.
ever owned an elektron analog rytm or machinedrum? I'm very much considering one as a tr 8 replacement. I know they don't have faders but I figured I could use a midi controller. I've grown to despise my tr 8, despite how much I love it, the insanely low limit of store able patterns ruins it for me
no unfortunately not. I still think that the RYTM should be able to replace the TR8, the RYTM can do mutes with the pads etc which should give some added live workflow tweakability. Personally, i liked the limitations in the TR8, it forced me to work the unit a lot during my sessions.. the TR8s is a bit more flexible with automated breaks/fills etc.. which is nice, but it will never ever compete with an elektron sequencer :)
the scatter stuff is somewhat unpredictable though, I've found I don't particularly like most of it's effects either. Don't get me wrong I definitely see the benefit of the tr8, it emulates an oldstyle drum machine really well and is fun as all hell to jam on, but it's oldschool limitations prove to be too much for me. 16 patterns for A and B....so 32 patterns...I almost feel like I'm missing something. It's just an insanely small number. I'm sure the tr 8s solves that, but now that I'm getting the hang of my octatrack, I'm just fiending for more elektron gear...
Did I saw Basimilus Iteritas Alter in your eurorack. Do you like it? I'm think to get one. I just order Winter Modular Eloquencer, BIA would be great with that.
Yes, thats correct. I use it on this track for some percussion (starts at 03.50) I find the BIA (any perscussion style sound, module) to work really well with the eloquencer. Highly recommended.
So good!!! Such drama in there as well. A story. Well done. Question, do you have just the Volca Keys going into the TR8 to get the sidechain effect? Thanks again.
I know it may be aesthetic kryptonite for you, but have you ever tried Puredata or the Critter Guitari Organelle? It'd be cool to see you add a Lenovo T420 laptop or a raspberry pi something to your setup, maybe just for weird DSP effects. Sorry to ruin your 69 comment count btw.
Oh, that is a good comparison indeed. So let me put it like this, the RE-20 is more laid back and just a simple replica of an analogue style delay ... it does the job, with no fuzz and extra bells and whistles. The el capistan take things to another level, with the wow & flutter creating modulation that really adds additional colour to the sound. Also i really really like the tape aging knob.. it dulls the feedback to make it even more vintage sounding. I have them both, and i dont see myself selling any of the two... BUT if i had to choose one it would be the el cap in a heartbeat. ps, i am a strymon fanboy, just to add to the fact, but i am in no way affiliated with any vendor/manufacturer.
@@BURG cheers for the detailed response mate. I have the El Cap and love it. But, I also love the dreamy sounds of the Space Echo on synths so looks like I’ll need both haha. Keep up the awesome work
3:03 the crumbly staticy rumble of the bass and the angelic oooh voice foiling eachother brings much joy❤subscribed

Excellent stuff, could I ask what headphones you use to monitor all those fantastic sounding synths?
Thanks a lot!! I use the audio technica ath m50x, had them for a few years now and I am really happy with how they sound.
Have you ever tried the circuit mono station?
No, unfortunately not.
Couple o thumbs down......?
