Polymer Clay Tutorial "Chop It Up and Roll It Out!"

- Опубликовано: 12 сен 2024
- Just for fun. Chopping up translucent clay and adding alcohol ink. Lay it out, add a solid color and roll it up like a jelly roll.
If you want thicker lines make your strips thicker. If you want the inside thicker, don't use a pasta machine. Just roll it out with your hands.
See you guys soon. Back to work I go!!

Good luck with your show, Irene! You will be missed!
Gorgeous colors! We’ll miss you!
Thank you!
I admit I was sceptical, however your viewers/commenters had faith in you so I watched it through to the end and was pleasantly surprised at your 'chop it up and roll it out' turned into (as one of your commenters said) lovely peacock pendants. Nice job and all the best.
Hope you and yours are safe and sound from the earthquake and hurricane! ❤
This is a wow color i love it ❤ and i am happy when I see you soon and get more inspiration
Love that!
Wishing a major sales season, where you sell out! And hopefully that will get you back on line sooner, sharing your creative talent with us. You’ve taught me so much, encouraging me to go ahead and try new things. Not everything works, most does however - and I have fun while trying. So, I’d like to say Thank You for the journey!
Working on it!
You're welcome. I'm a little disorganized in thought but it somehow works
What a fun, simple technique!! When your pieces were resined the colors were gorgeous❣️ Best of luck with getting ready for your show, sounds like getting everything organized is an all encompassing process. Thank you for sharing this technique 💙🤍💜💛💚
Thank you. ❤️ Yes, shows are slways hectic but I think I cause most of the stress from them.
Have a awsome show we will be waiting on you😊❤ p.s.thank you for prayers for my grandson he is doing good .
I'm glad you decided on the blue back. I have so much trouble with black. It is never smooth for me and I always get air bubbles!
I really like the result of your chop and roll method and the colors you used. I just bought a mini food chopper, I bought it to help condition my clay but I am hoping it's a help with these chopping methods. I find the older I get, the more I need help conditioning help as my fingers, hands, arms and shoulders are getting arthritic.
Try putting your finished jewellery in individual small zip lock bags and seal up, expressing excess air. It should help stop or reduce the tarnishing of your findings. I always keep all silica gel packs that are in many things we buy now days. I pop one of the SGs in each bag. Even if you want to put them in a larger zio lock, if you donr have many SGs to pop in the bag.
I have been doing itvwith my Stirling Silver jewellery and it works well. In future it may help in keeping the tarnish at bay by keeping them out of the air.
Good luck with your show! I'll miss you while you're prepping.
I was thinking about doing something like this but never thought about putting it all in a jelly roll. Love the colors! ❤
It looks great when you have scraps too.

The online show is on Facebook and geared for glass bead makers. But....KLEW sells her polymer clay creations there so I figured I would also sell some components. The other show is Local.
I love your creativity!
Thank you! 😊
I’ve never seen anyone soak their pieces in water? Can you please tell us how you do this, and why? Thank you.
I put all my pieces in water so that I can sand them. I never dry sand any.
