just watched the first movie and disappointed with the picture quality, very grainy and only a slight improvement over the dvd, no noticeable restoration work.
This youtube footage doesn't look fantastic, so hard to tell - I think we will have to wait until the discs arrive. I have ordered as I love the films. I would expect an HD master of a 2nd or 3rd gen print from a 2k scan, I would not expect the original camera negatives even exist anymore, which would had justified a 4k scan. I applaud Viavision for putting these out - I can't understand why Studiocanal could not, but this is not going to be a "4k UHD in the future" feast, but hopefully a very decent upgrade on the DVD versions and literally light years ahead of the re-runs on ITV, in terms of picture quality
@@amazinganimallearningandfu3842 well some of the carry on films have been scanned and remastered in 4k and downscaled to 1080p by britbox here in the uk, and vision entertainment have released them on bluray aswell
It's absolutely beyond me why these have not been released I the UK 😢
Network probably would have but went bust earlier in the year
They are available
Excellent news. Just pre ordered.
Can’t wait !
It's a great life on the buses

Yes i agree. Mutiny on the buses is better quality, clear, more vibran, brighter and audio is louder than the first movie.
I was tempted but tbh there doesn’t seem to be a significant improvement over my old DVDs in terms of resolution?
was these films scanned in at 4k and remastered in 4k then downscaled to 1080p or scanned in at 1080p and not remastered??
