Incredible to see Bon on this musical style! He was a really great singer and vocalist. We miss him a lot! Great man 🙏
Bon. In his early Amish years
Lol!!! Exactly!!! :)))
Explains why he's not playing an electric flute
He was an Amish mechanic but he got tired of all the horse shit.
😂😂😂
😂
I've been a lifelong AC/DC fans since 1975 and I'm personally ashamed that I've never heard this before. Thank you for sharing.
have you seen dirty deeds countdown , one of bons greatest perfomnces, its on you tube, i think it was in 76
Google:
Build Me Up Buttercup by The Valentines.
Hi there Saul, hope your 2024 is going well? Don't be ashamed. Music is like reading the works of a great author: you have so many new chapterss to discover?
And lall artists, singers and musicians go through, what I call the 'Bowie syndrome', changing and evolving. Scott Bon is no exception. All the bands he was in before, gave him, the experience to TRULY give ACDC something special. And boy! THAT VOICE?
And as all greats - his talent can bee seen as something special - he always had.
He simply hadn't put on, the right shoes, that fitted best?
ROCK AND ROLL blue suede shoes you might say - made in the beginning, back in 1955 😎
You sound like a great person. Welcome to the magic club of those who admire and respect great music.
But what ever you do - let there be ROCOOOOCK!
David
lol, have you ever heard "Geordie - House of the Rising Sun" ?
@@markdobsha ha: Brian Johnson.
Wow! Beautiful!
Way back before Bon was raising roofs, he was raising barns.
Super! Bon Scott joueur de flute! ça vaut le détour...
I love the flute!
His voice was much different before is motorcycle accident. The rough and gravely vocals we have all come to love was the by-product of said accident. Guess that is where the import version of “little lover” gets the:
Oh baby you sure looked sweet
Cruisin'
A leg either side
Of my motorcycle seat
Just oozin'
🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘
Massive talent.
from sixties pop to progressive rock to hard metallic rock , a long way to the top.
If you wanna Rock & Roll.
@@davidbeeson9408 I used to cut alot of firewood for extra cash. One day we were listening to AC/DC driving up a mountain, and this short scrawny spastic redneck MFer I used to cut with (who also almost resembles Angus) starts singing loudly "IT'S A LONG WAY TO THE TOP IF YOU WANNA CUT SOME WOOD!".
A mere 3 yrs later to be in one of the greatest rock bands in the world singing songs like Jail Break, with a little diminutive demon running in circles around him. Bon, one of the best that’s ever been. With huge love RIP Sir Bon…
U should see him seeing back up for the Valentine's
Miss ya Bon
The lead singer here proving that it's a long way to the top, if you want to rock and roll. Hmm, someone should write a song about that.
Rock has deeper roots than you realize. How old are you?
@@russellparker5272 -- How old are YOU not to recognize sarcasm?
@@jondunmore4268 Good reply 😊
Hmmm that lead singer looks odly familiar tbh he looks like that one singer in the band called "the valentines"
I have read that Bon, after the Valentines, joined Fraternity in part because he knew they were a band serious about music. And that he learned a lot about music, and musical structure, even though that wasn't really his style.
holy crap, didnt know this, only know him from acdc, he killed this, what a voice
Try watching Bon in a pre Fraternity group, called The Valentines , another Oz pop group from the sixties.
I thought everyone knew
This reminds me of another favorite singer, Dio, and his time with Elf. The first Elf album is amazing, and like Bon, shows how talented these guys were
What a rare classic video of a legend in the making.
From recorder playing "Mr. Sensitive" to Mr. Whole Lotta Rosie" - a lot of range there.
Good to see he was tattooed before ACDC. He had the bad boy flex before joining the band. Unlike some other lead singers of hard rock/metal bands I know of.
Bon got his tattoos around 1963/64
The Late Bon Scott (R.I.P), could sing well in any genre of music, and how prophetic the lead guitarist is playing a Gibson SG, Bon would later be United with another Gibson SG player.
The SG is a very versatile guitar.... 😉
Fantastic music - modest, sincere and pure. Bon is just like a purifier here, indeed
Bon was also in the hard rocking and legendary Valentine's. How they are not in the hall of fame is insane.
Don't forget the Spektors before the valentines ...there's a few audio takes on you tube somewhere
@@ACDZ123 Thanks for the info, didn't know that and will have to look it up.
He certainly saw both ends of what SGs should be used for
Yeah the guitarist fit the music but this rendition sounds too much like a single coil strat . We know Angus Young’s SG sound but an underrated one is Robby Kreiger’s of the doors when they let him cut loose
My fav singer
Bon scott foi um grande vocalista!!!
Beatnik Bon
I’ve loved this song since I was a kid, I would have seen this on GTK, 8 in ‘71.. but never knew the name of the song, or the band… and had no freaking clue that this was Bon.
I grew up listening to him nobody can say he wasn't a good singer miss him think about the music he could have made if he lived longer
Thank God Bon found his real niche in life, because Fraternity are shit
Wow - this is an amazing find!
Better with a bagpipe than with a flute. Who would believe that guy sang If You Want Blood (among others) !!
(Rest) Rock In Peace, Bon. You remain the greatest.
Not a flute, dueling recorders at the start. Learnt to play a recorder at Primary School and never considered it a musical instrument. I prefer Blackfeathers version than this. I suppose he had to pay the bills doing something.
When Bon sang about it being "A long way to the top of you wanna rock n roll" he was including this period, too!
He never played bag pipes. That was all miming for the camera..he played drums
R.I.P. Bon. Unique voice. These videos need to be released on DVD.
That’s a recorder that Bon is playing. Bon never played the flute during that time (for which Ian Anderson is best known for). He also played drums and other percussions.
Wow! Bon could sing anything. Never heard him sing in his upper register like this. He was definitely more at home in AC/DC.
Bon.. I can smell the pot through my phone 52 yrs later still 😅
Haha, pot is better than cigarretes 🤢🤮
You have a good nose, sir! 👃
Mkultras grade 33 Grass?
Something about this tune gets deep into my soul. I heard it back in '72 as a little kid, and it's still hauntingly brilliant!
Same and I had forgotten that I had heard it all the way back then
Where a legend began
I think The Valentines were before this.
excelente video 👌!!! que groso era Bon!!
This is delicious. Thank you! 👍🏻
Just loved 😍 this, at 66 new to me 🇬🇧 uk
My whole elementary music class was given a recorder to play and none of us could figure out how to make it sound good. I/We were blessed for Bon playing the bag pipes with AC/DC.
I recall, three blind mice on my little recorder... must have driven everyone mad 😂😂
Una parte desconocida de Bon
You will probably be interested in these two songs, one written by Bon:

Bon Scott's foray into playing a wind instrument on this song wasn't quite as successful as one down the line.........
He plays the recorders on the Black Feather version too. Quite successfully.
very very well..............................................................................................................................................................................................................
Apparently, Bon was involved in a very serious motorcycle accident in 1974. He almost died, & spent nearly a month in the hospital. He had sustained neck injuries & a cut to his throat. Bon's wife said that she noticed his voice had changed as a result of the accident.
Holy shit bon I’m so glad he cut that beard. God he’s got the voice of an Angel
I was about 15 when I first fell in love with this song. It began my love affair with rock music which spanned a 40 year long career. It’s only now I’ve discovered it was Bon Scott on lead vocals. I have a new found respect for both Bon and the song!❤️👍🏼
There the lyrics
See the snow falling on the ground
Days of old, oh so cold
Red ship sailing among the cloud
melts the snow still I'm cold
People dancing in the streets
in the town a small boy cries
eyes of love turn to nerves of stone
blind the sun, not for me
A season goes so quickly
you dont know where you are
A season goes so quickly
you dont know where you are
I said I'm sorry
Dont you know I try
everybody stops me
and it makes me cry
See the snow falling on the ground
days of old, cold so cold
Ty bon
its amazing.... i love him so much....;O)
I remember this song fondly on the radio in my youth, still one of my favs- never realised Bon fronted them, sure I saw them live st the local Bowral dances in the early days 🤔🤔
This is a cover of a song by a much better aussie group..Black feather....which is what you eould had heard on the radio...your memory is a bit fuzxy
@@jeffuren6942 They actually came out at virtually the same time, both charted very well, actually Fraternity's version was even more successful. It was a Blackfeather song , however, Bon played the recorder part on both versions.
Is that the first ever cool thing to come from the recorder?!
Awesome!
Sounds like Steve Winwood.
Talented Young Whippersnapper In Your Day.. R.I.P Bon .. Thank You For The Music And Memories. 🙏🥃🙏
What a fucking awesome memory that I had forgotten
Bonny Ronny trying to be Ian Gillian, and largely succeeding apart from the false flute note
Now I've seen it all good work👍🇭🇲
I remember hearing this song as a very young child and loved it. I thought it was some classic European band but no, Adelaide band.
Thank God, THANK GOD Bon met the young brothers. This crap band with crap musicians sucked.
So much better than The Valentines. I really like it.
Never be another Bon
Diese Stimme 👍👍👍
That was good !
Ronnie's stressing too much in his upper range. it is too operatic. i should know, i wrote it. eeven Neale Johns had trouble with the high B in the verse. probably Farnham could have done it better. j.
That’s how it goes, playing in a band.
Pipe player's face vs bum note at 0:53s - jury found him guilteh!
And they "gave him 16 years in hell".
Makes me wish when Bon died, AC/DC would have recruited Ian Anderson. 😉 Bon sounds great here.
Whoever scouted the members for this band was some kind of genius. What other comparatively minor band can boast having the likes of Jimmy Barnes, Bon Scott and Swanee all from the same band?
Blackfeather did it better.
This is the worst version of my Seasons of Change. HI, I'm John Robinson, the author of this tune. (I formed and ran Blackfeather.) j.
I thought the Amish aren't allowed to use electricity?
His playing of the Recorder, was basically shite!
Luckily he a singing voice to fall back on.....😂😂😂😂
Bon Scott before AC/DC was in a prog rock band called Fraternity. Seasons of Change is a very interesting song. The song is a bit repetitive but his voice is awesome.
OMG!!! UNBEALIVABLE!!! BONNY!!! LOOKS SO HIPPY!!! :))) BUT VOICE REALLY GOOD AND DEEP!!! GERE PROOVE HE CAN REALLY SING!!! (NOT "SCREAM" ONLY...! ;P 😜🤪😛😝)
Shades of Gentle Giant here
Sort of a traffic vibe to it
Always loved this song since I was a kid. Had no idea it was Bon Scott! With a recorder no less. Legend.
Steve Perry vibes wow..
it sounds like every member is playing a different song. I never did like weed.
The lead guitar 🎸 ! WOW! The arrangement! I played violin 10yrs , Bass 40yrs , when I first heard the guitar come in ! I was like WTH ! It's really funny !
I don't know what you all are listening to,but this is HORRIBLE!
Love this track!
Watching at this I can say that AC/DC ruined the careers and voices of two great singers...
You can’t be a huge fan of Bon Scott if you haven’t heard fraternity
he makes my home town proud sunshine melbourne vic
He was only there for a couple of years as a 6 yr old ..he's a Fremantle boy
Couldn’t click off that quick enough.
It's almost as funny as The Twilights. But I say that lovingly.
Reminds me of Our Love Will Not Decay by Tir Na Nog
One of THE greatest voices in rock history hands down ❤
Very Jethro Tullish. Bon could really sing in a lyrical style well!
Stairway it is not.
Maybe he drunk so much, to forget that beard, that flute and that singing.
Bonn has not got a beard he is wearing a shearers singlet and clean shaven LOL
