      Hi John, same here buddy, I never knew about this one myself either.
      Let's hope it throws a bit more light on the issue 👍

    Morning... Simon, I have to say that hearing from your xf is by no means boring. New insights are always interesting, even if I only have XK 8. I wish you success. Also for the court decision regarding the ownership of the car. Greetings Udo

    Good luck with the XF. It must be a nightmare mate, fingers crossed, it gets sorted finally, and you get to keep that beast of a car😊. Nice one with the S type. Have fun in that.👍

      Thanks buddy. I'm sure we will get there in the end. I just thought if I bought another jag it would take the pressure off getting the xf fixed, as we're all back to work this week after our summer holidays 👍

    My Son has just bought a Jeep Cherokee SRT and, even whilst you're driving along, you can access the built in ODBII code reader and view any fault codes and what they mean on the screen. There's no need to access a special mode .... it's just one of the standard display information selections. If only all cars had this facility built in!

    That message says, PATS module is missing! I suggest looking for the fuse or power supply to that module. The ACCM is the climate module, so that won't stop the car starting. It's the PATS module from that scan, probably doesn't have power to it. Otherwise, might need to reflash the module using JLR SDD.

      Hi Matt, I really appreciate your input buddy, it really is strange how it's having this PATS issue, I had better keep digging around 👍

      @@projectsinthebarn agreed it is weird, which is why I'm thinking fuse or power supply line. It's a shame your so far away from me otherwise I'd come over and put SDD on it.

      @@projectsinthebarn yeah it’s the JLR software that the dealers and factory use. Simple to fault codes and diagnostic to updating firmware and reinitialising modules and making bigger changes to the car. Special cable and laptop software, but doesn’t really run on anything newer than windows 7 without a lot of agro to install. Cable is cheap ish to buy and SDD usually comes with it. It’s the laptop side that hard to sort these days.

    If I remember correctly, your icarsoft turned up an immobiliser fault, and now theres the PATS fault. It feels like it's immobilised itself.

    • @projectsinthebarn
      @projectsinthebarn 11 месяцев назад

      You are correct buddy, I am still getting an immobiliser fault showing as linked to steering column, as well as fuel pressure on bank 2. I have a mechanic coming over next monday to have a butchers.
      I'm still hoping for a simple fix 🙏

      @@projectsinthebarn I managed to cure issues with my Jaguars by picking up a copy of the Jaguar SDD software, running it on an old computer via a Mangoose cable. A bit scary doing resets or modules, but SDD gives far better diagnostics, and whenever it can it fixes the problem.

    • @projectsinthebarn

      @jempitt9974 Yes, another subscriber has mentioned getting a copy of SDD. It's really worth looking into, I reckon 👍

    BSM - Blind spot monitoring fault. ACC - Adaptive Cruise control fault

    Ive usually had these faults on my XKR when the battery has been low voltage and they clear when the battery is charged and reconnected. Never stopped the car starting though.
    I know once on you tube an XK8 had problems when rain water had got into his isolator switch that sets if the car is jacked or in an accident and it cuts off fuel pumps etc. It is usually in the footwell somewhere and should be mentioned in the handbook how to reset it. If they get wet they can be a problem.

      That's very interesting to read, I think there is a definite correlation with the fuel and it not starting. It almost goes, and then just continues to turn over.
      Also, the car was stood up for a week whilst we were on our holidays, maybe some water has entered somewhere it shouldn't and caused this issue?
      Maybe the loss of the coolant has been a bit of a red herring as the car literally just cut out with no warning, which could suggest fuel cut off?
      So many things to consider, I'm sure we will get there one way or another 👍

      @@projectsinthebarn From my experience with three Jags the only personal experience Ive had is a failed crankshaft position sensor which gives no spark timing and hence no start. A cheap item and easy to fit on the XK6 at the front of the engine. Basically a strobe light. Im not sure if OBDII has a fault code for that failure.

    • @projectsinthebarn
      @projectsinthebarn 11 месяцев назад +1

      @awalk5177 Thanks, buddy, it's certainly worth a try. The AA guy deffo mentioned a crank position sensor, but it has not shown up as a fault since i have got it home.
      But, as you say, it's a cheap part to replace, so nothing really to lose 👍
