beautiful software, just a little expensive! but very nice graphics and full of features. I still have some problems using remote overlan with my 705, lag and signal loss, things that do not happen to me with wfview on server and sdr control on iphone!
I did try wfview, but not complete. The only area I currently notice of lag, is when I enable scan from the app, instead of the radio. The lag is noticable when you are in the same room or close enough. Once out of sight, that lag becomes normal. It the same with ham radio repeaters that are linked to several other repeaters. Even with DStasr links the lag is there too. So far not an issue for me, but I can imagine when you are remote and the internet is slow. Still trying to decide which way to go with hotspot device. OpenSpot Pro 4 or uv1-aj mmdvm rfinder. Try to get info on the uv1-aj but couldn't find it online. Not sure how often I would use it. Terminal mode seem to be enough most of the time. SDR-Control still need refining and when buying all three, it expensive. While nice on the iphone and ipad, I still prefer to use it on the mac computer. I don't notice any lag there, so far. Never tried wfview on an iphone or ipad, just on the mac. thanks - alex
@@SimplyOffGridLife Hi my friend, as for the hotspot I happily use a small Pi0 that is cheap and works well, I leave it on even for weeks without problems, although yes, the terminal mode if you don't have to jump from one reflector to another is excellent! As for sdr remote, I'm testing it overlan from my home office and for now the most satisfying setup is to have wfview on the home mac that acts as a server and remotely sdr control on my iphone this has allowed me to make several qsos in voice remotely away from my home.
I have to try it out later on. My IC-7300 is the base unit and the ic-705 I use as my vhf/uhf radio mostly at home, but it will be used on all bands when offgrid, rving, etc. I have a bunch of H3 and H8, we use it when were in the moutains, hiking, fishing. The group is alway in contact with everyone. It even handy not having to shout out, so I am heard inside the trailer. Thanks for the info, keep in touch, alex
