I bought a mirka deros and i had to send it back after just a couple uses because it was faulty, ordered the festool to replace it for the same reliability reasons :/ the deros was soooo much fun to work with when it worked...the balance, the feel, the weight everything was perfect it's a shame really :/
Had Mirka ceros. Brilliant piece of kit. But failed too many times and wouldn’t upgrade to deros when it came out. Bought the festool rotex. It’s been absolutely hammered and still going strong.
I’ve heard there are reliability issues with Mirka. I bought a 3m 6 inch ROS, which was great, for the 2 weeks or so that it worked…. Lots of reviews suggesting it has reliability issues too. So I just bought the festool (which comes with the longest warranty) and seems to have no reliability issues. It’s not here yet, but looking forward to it. I have a bosch which is very much like the rotex, and it’s a tank - that think is reliable and powerful - but it’s heavy, harder to control, and just not ergonomically up to the ones that are random orbital only. I’m returning the 3m. I’m not a big festool guy, but I’m also not anti-festool. It has to justify the high price. I have the ts55 track saw, multiple tracks, parallel guides, etc. and it has been great. With the amount of time I spend sanding, that makes a premium sander worth it, and I don’t want to deal with reliability issues with 3m and mirka.
I just picked one up for the same reason I didn’t go with the competition because of lack of reliability reason. The other deciding factor for me was the on off switch. If I’m sanding a lot I will move my grip around for comfort and with the others having the paddle switch that’s not possible. I also went with the larger stroke and 6” pad for faster removal.
Hello my friend, A good choice. I use similar orbital sander as well. Thank you for the introduction and information. You will do very good sanding with it. Thank you for sharing. I wish you a healthy and beautiful new week. See you. greetings.
This is next on my list to get. Same as you i am invested in Festool and it is annoying as hell in my workshop having to unplug my makita sander to use some of my Festools.
The ets ec is a one handed Sander and a lot lighter than the rotex, I think most people (myself included) would go for an ets150, rts400 and rotex 90 with Delta which is really good to cover all bases
Sam Rix ... I think your spot on there with that... I will be looking at the rotex now... but think the 90 might be on the cards .... the ets ec150 will take some material off with the right disc....
Given up with the bags in the cyclone I see😄 I have had both my mirka sanders and they get used every day and have done for 2 or more years. Saying that I still want the festool🙈
@@lowesjoinery3031 you will also be glad to hear that my deros shit itself today so I ordered the festool. The mirka is 3 years old and I look after my tools and it’s never been pushed. Festool all the way👍

Thanks for the review. Its puzzling me that Mirka doesn't address the issues after so many users problems...?
I know me too.. thats why I went for the festool
I had one of these and returned it due to 'wobbling'. Shame as I really wanted to like it.
