It is easy to make and heaven to serve, summertime tastes like a berry preserve. Kids home from camp with bellies to feed, a wee bit of time is all that you need.
Well, plus raspberries.♥️ And sugar helps, too. 😂 Annnnnnd this easy recipe from Zoe Nathan.🥇#PretendCookingShow

#HuckleberryCookbook Raspberry Preserves
Ingredients:
5 cups fresh raspberries (or you can add blueberries, too! 🙋🏻♀️)
1/2 tsp kosher salt
3/4 cup sugar (adjust to taste 😊)
2/3 cup water

1. Combine everything in a medium stainless-steel pot. Cover and simmer over medium-low heat until the berries fall apart, about 10 minutes.
2. Uncover and cook down until thickened, stirring frequently to avoid burning, about 25 minutes. (if you have framboise splash a little in for depth of flavor- hi, Ina Garten! ♥️) If you do burn it, sadly, there is no saving it. 😧
3. Refrigerate until needed.
4. Yum. ♥️

Best "pretend" cooking show ever! I loved where she sang "I can bring home the bacon". I used to sing that to my kids, and they were like, "what???" Didn't know Jen was old enough to remember that. Maybe her mom sang it, too.

Jennifer is so sweet and a natural mum (homely) type. I grew up with her in Alias so she can be kickass, but this is more her natural style.
Hi, I'm guessing you're British, or of those parts. In America, " homely " is ACTUALLY the opposite of what you meant to say. We use it as an insult. Used for calling someone or something ugly, unsightly. I watch A LOT of British shows. Escape to the Country is one where they use that word A LOT to describe a warm, cozy home. Over here, TOTALLY THE OPPOSITE. 😁

When you put hot preserves in a glass bowl make sure there’s a towel underneath a tea towel or some kind because the ceramic or granite will cause it to crack ... I found that out the hard way every time I go in my kitchen I still find some strawberry jam

Yes rinse em, drain through a big stainer then till then in a towel. Boom, nice and dry.
Take your fresh fruit and place them in the blender with just enough water to make them blend into almost a purée or even a fruit water! Don’t worry you can’t add too much water- it boils out anyways. Add a touch of lemon juice and zest to brighten it! Then strain it.
Continue on with placing the strained purée into the pot with the sugar and it will be seedless with higher yield because you will have more solid mass from the fresh fruit :)

I also like oven roasting my fruit into a jam! Makes it less sweet!

That’s because she add in the blueberries for fun after she found them other wise she originally started making raspberries preserves way before that.

Hey Jeni Anne you could marinate the berries in Jack Daniels , only a suggestion ... I saw this idea on Death By Chocolate years ago , raisins into a chocolate layer cake ... sounds flavourful . That special and beatyfull way to be
The very best way to make preserves is to put your sugar over the fruit and NO WATER. Stir it around good. Cover and let sit overnight. The sugar will draw all the juices out of the fruit, then you wont have to add any water. I always put a little bit of zest of lemon in all my fruit preserves.

Never put hot things in the refrigerator; it will one cause your fridge to go above 40F and two it will heat up items near the hot item. Considering preserves are done around 210F, that's a lot of heat radiating.
