Great tip, i usually use 5 hook rigs with 6/0 or 5/0 hooks but after i watched your video i made a rig with 12 hooks with an 8/0 at the top and bottom and 5/0's on the center hooks, really made a difference, caught more fish than the 3 guys that i was fishing with combined who were using 4 and 5 hook rigs.

Have you ever used stainless steel Twisted wire for your up-down line because of shark bites and then just leave monofilament on your liters to your hooks
Great vid man! It makes sense to put larger hooks on top and bottom as well as a weaker swivel on the bottom for the weight.. ☺ Those are some serious crimpers right there! Def gona get the kit as you suggest. I didn't notice if you used the glow beads.....how do you feel about them? I was thinking 12" centers on the hook placement but 8" obviously works....i will definatly make some of these real soon. I'm gonna use here in pa for some river monsters, obx nc because i think it would do well, lighter leader and smaller hook size. And in the florida keys....im really excited about this set up and will let you know how it works out...tight lines brotha 😎
The beads and glow squids to me are great i like them better than lights really, i know people that do deep drop for a living and they don't use lights or even beads and catch so much fish is insane but I like to use the beads and glow squids,you can do 12 but remember fish like rosefish don't go more than couple feet from the water u want to keep the bait as close to the bottom as you can, let me know when u use the rig how it goes bro!!!

IT SHOULD WORK FOR THE LIGHT RIGS BUT I DON'T THINK YOU CAN SNELL THE HOOK WITH 100# 200# LINE :(

Hey I really enjoyed the video I had ordered all stuff to make my own deep drop rigs and have been checking out videos to learn and pick up tips on what works so many other guys making these videos say you don’t need more than 2 to 3 hooks that why I got excited when you said 8 hooks lol

16" minimum, if you using a light try to do a least 30" or more, most of the time i dont use light my self so no big deal !
