I agree 100%, Yamil! I not only think she's one of the best vocalists in the history of Eurovision...I think she is *THE* best so far. I have never heard a more technically proficient and consistent display of not just good singing, but EXCEPTIONAL singing. And I'm not just ooohing and aaahing over her high notes. I'm looking at breath support, consistent intonation, legato, phrasing, etc. There have been other attempts at operatic singing at Eurovision, but no one has been at Elina's level, not even Italy's entry in 2015 which was pretty good. I hope, hope, hope that Elina returns to Eurovision soon, and perhaps perform her newest single "La Voce dell'Alba" (The voice of Dawn). It is a masterpiece!
I think she deserves way more credit than she has, I find this wayy too unfair for someone who stands out so much and outstands nowadays singers. She has something which I've never seen in any other singer. I get that this might not be some people's style of music, but She is better then Arianna Grande, no offense. Arianna just fits the modern music style, otherwise. She would be known everywhere in the world.

+Joao santos, the notes she hits in this song are not in the whistle register, and that's what makes this all the more impressive. It SOUNDS like whistle, but it's an extension of the same pure head voice operatic sopranos use to hit notes above high C. Sometimes Elina has a habit of pinching off some of those high notes, but when prompted to open the soft palate a little more, those same notes sound a lot fuller. Then it becomes a lot more easy to tell they aren't whistle.
My winner of Eurovision 2018! Also I miss the old Eurovision contest with orchestra as well, I think a perfect Eurovision contest should concern on the quality of music like this video shows NOT the stage performance such as Benjamin dancing in an LED prop.
This is what Eurovision should look like: No fireworks, no LED screen, no silly costumes or dancers but a live orchestra. Just like in the sanremo festival. Honestly, I still do not understand how Elina Nechayeva only came in 8th at Eurovision. I do not blame the viewers, the 9th place was not surprising but dear juries, siriously, how are Cyprus, Germany, Israel, Sweden and Austria supposed to be better than this?? Elina Nechayeva has an amazing voice and she keeps getting better with every single performance. Maybe Eurovision was just not the right show to promote and appreciate her talent. For the last few minutes I felt as if I was floating in another dimension. I didn't expect that she would top her performance at the ESC but I was wrong. This is pure perfection.
For me this was the best song ever to be heard on the Eurovision song contest and I still like listening to it. Elina will be remembered for this performance long after Netta's Chicken song has been forgotten.

A strong voice does generally come with bigger body frames, but that's the power of operatic singing. When the voice is supported properly, and sung with good forward placement (for projection and resonance), a big body is not needed. Believe it or not, there are very many professional opera singers who are just like Elina, very thin 🙂

Imagine one orchestra playing for 42 countries. Yeah, not happening. They would need at least a couple of them.
It is not payable at all to drag orchestra for each country and on Eurovision there is only cost not incoming so
The host used to provide the orchestra.
Modern songs don't even need a piano to compose. So what orchestra will you use then? A DJ?
